About this ebook

The beauty of life is when you understand and identify the reason for which you are created!

Purpose is the key to life. Without purpose, life has no meaning. There are millions of people today who are busy making a living, but they experience very little of life. If your goal in life is to be wealthy so you can retire, you are embarking on a journey of depression and frustration without destination. If your vision for life is determined by status, then your upkeep will be your downfall. In the discovery of your purpose, vision for life is also discovered. Vision is placed deep within purpose. Ignorance of purpose, makes life an endless activity with little or no significance.

Life without a discovered purpose, is motion without progress. When you fail to discover your purpose, you will just engage yourself doing anything that seem good to you but might not be right and beneficial to do. Why is life treating you the way it is? Why does everything you engage yourself doing seem not to be productive? Why are you not experiencing satisfaction and the joy of life? Why do you feel busy and yet not productive? The reason for all these is because you haven't discovered that thing which you naturally have to engage yourself doing. Life without a discovered purpose, is an experiment. Engaging yourself in so many things and hoping that they work out for you to have a meaningful life, is nothing than experimenting with one's life.

Life without a discovered purpose, is life without direction and life without direction, is life without destination and life without destination, is life without fulfilment. What makes life meaningful and easy going, is a discovered purpose. Once you know what you are born to do, you don't waste time engaging yourself in what is not relevant to the accomplishment of your purpose. On several occasions when I asked people what matters most in life, the answers most gave seem interesting to hear. To some the most important in life is to make money, to another marriage, to other houses and to others just fun and many more other interesting responses. But then the question which pops up after getting responses to the question is, what next after that? After having money, marriage, houses, cars and the rest, what next? What becomes the result of what you think is the most important to do in life? Everything that exist in this world has a reason for its existence and that reason becomes the purpose for which it was created. The reason for which the mobile phone was created, is its purpose. The reason for which light was invented, is its purpose. The reason for the creation of the trees, animals and the rest, becomes their purpose. In other words, whatever you see either naturally or man-made, has a purpose. There is nothing that exist to do nothing.

Nothing is created for nothing. Everything created has a reason for which it is created or produced. Why were you created? All that we see, serves their own specific life assignment. In other words, the reason you were created when discovered becomes your life assignment.

What you are living to do is what you are created for and to do.

Significance of life is attained when purpose is discovered. Both natural and artificial things when fail to discover their purpose suffer the consequences thereof. When elements of nature lose their purpose, chaos and destruction are the results. Confusion, frustration, discouragement, disillusionment, murder, armed robbery and so many others are all products or results of life without purpose. Political instability, corruptions, cultural disintegration, religious atrocities, social misconduct, economic uncertainty, are all results that emerges when these areas or sectors fails to discover the purpose governing it and to be committed to achieving it. Purpose is the motivation behind all that we see.

Finding and Fulfilling Your Purpose - MICHAEL ALOKO ANUURE

    CHAPTER ONE

    WHAT IS PURPOSE

TO DISCOVER MEANS TO determine the existence or the presence of something or a being.  It also means to get to know or to become aware of.

To discover means to catch out, find out, instantiate, see, sense and trace or to make a discovery or a finding.

PURPOSE means an anticipated outcome that is intended. It means final cause, idea, mind, will, view, intend, mean and design.

To fulfil means to put in effect, carry out a task, execute an agenda; complete, consummate, perform, effectuate. It also means to meet the requirement or expectation of something or an assignment.

FINDING PURPOSE is the ability of a person to instantiate the Mind, the Will or the Intend of God over his/her existence on earth. Understanding the original plan of God about your live.  Finding purpose is the ability to descend your heavenly assignment on the surface of the earth.

Everything God created had its purpose on earth. You were not created by a mistake. You were created for a reason. God does not just have interest in creating the universe. Anything God created on the earth has a reason for it being created.  It has a purpose to effectuate on earth. The birds in the air, the animals in the field, the sea, moon, sun and so on, were all created for a specific course. No two different creatures were created to accomplish the same task. Each was designed for one specific thing. The purpose of the birds in the air is very different from the creatures on earth. Even the creatures on earth for example the lion, lizard, serpents etc. each has a particular role they play though they all exist on the ground. Although the moon and the sun look alike, having the same shape, all found in the sky and yet their functions are totally different from one another. The moon cannot provide the light we need by day likewise the sun too cannot provide the light we need in the night. So each plays different important roles.

That is about the animal kingdom and their purposes but what about man himself who God created to have rule over the universe. My emphasis about purpose is man and his assignment on earth.

My question is why did God created man? Was there a need for God to create man? God being very tired after creating the earth and the animals in it, why did he spend more time to make humankind? Why didn't He end the creation there but saw the need to create man in His own image and likeness? What was His Mind and Will for creating man? This draws my attention to what I have captioned discovering and fulfilling your purpose.

Let's start our Journey in Gen 1:26-28.

26 Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.

27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.

Moses here is teaching us the original plan and purpose of God for creating man. God said, Let us (God the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost) make man in our own image and likeness. Then He went further and made man in His own image and likeness. I was thinking that God would end it there but He added something, which is my anchor for this whole book. He then began to unveil His original intend for creating man. He said, I did not just create you for us to look alike; there is an authentic reason why I formed you. There is a purpose, plan; design I have for you and that is the reason why I created you. God said I created man to have dominion over my creation, he went further and not only said man should have dominion but in addition, be fruitful and multiply.

After creating the animals, He realized that there was none in His image and likeness, so He could not have a relationship with them, therefore let me make a being who will be like me, carry my features, in my own image and likeness so that it will be easy for me to partner with. He could not relate to the creatures of the world and that is why they were not made in His image and likeness but man was. The formation of man establishes a personal relationship with God that does not exist in the other side of creation. The image of God is personhood and personhood can only function in the context of relationships. The word image is the representative of God and likeness is the representation of God.

So on this note I deduce three biblical fundamental reasons why God created man. You may think of other reasons but any other reason may be traced down to these three.

    ›  Relationship and intimacy

    ›  Dominion

    ›  Fruitfulness and Multiplication.

Your purpose is older than you are. Before man came into being, his purpose had existed before.  Your purpose was birthed before you. God already knew what man would do before creating him. He did not finish creating him before He then decided on what man would do. Before your mother gave birth to you on earth, your purpose was already waiting for your arrival. Whatever you would do on earth was already designed by God. Therefore, when you are birthed into the earth realm, it is now your responsibility to discover what God has designed for you to do on earth. The prophet Jeremiah is a helping example for you to understand it clearly. Jeremiah 1:5-6 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.

God told Jeremiah that He knew him before he was born. One of the attributes of God states that He is all-knowing. He knows the end from the beginning. So, God's all-knowing recognizance of Jeremiah and His sovereign plan for him was already determined before he become a clot of blood in his mother's womb. Before God created you, He had his intentions known already. What you were coming to do on earth was already documented before time. What was his God given assignment? He was ordained before time to be a prophet. His purpose was to execute a prophetic assignment. He was to do the work of a prophet. Jeremiah could not have rejected that particular calling and said I wanted to be a teacher of the word or a pastor. However, all of them are the work of the ministry but each has its role to play. It would have been a hell to Jeremiah if he had taken a decision to go outside his assignment.

This is to say that; your purpose is older than you are. Purpose is the senior and you the carrier of the purpose is the junior.

Purpose is one of the most foundational and topmost thing in the life of man. After allowing Christ in your life to take over you and be your personal Lord and Savior, the next you should look for is not money, anointing, resources, houses etc. I think and believe that the second most important thing you should seek for in life after seeking Jesus is discovering and understanding your purpose. Your purpose is the foundation of your life. Whatever you will be doing is on top of your purpose. If you do not discover your purpose, which is the foundation, whatever you do which is the building block has no place to rest on. However, it is rather unfortunate that only about 30 to 40% of people are able to discover their purposes. The remaining high percentage has not come to the full understanding of their purposes on earth. Many people after being born again, immediately fixed their eyes on the results they see happening in the church; the moving of the spirit, the anointing, the prophetic, power etc. without spending time to see whether God really called them into that area or not. Is my assignment on the pulpit or in the field of business, education, farming etc.? We have to understand that though we all have to pray, fast, study the word, do the things of the spirit but we are not all called to hold a microphone in the church. Others are supposed to be kingdom financiers, lawyers, doctors, politicians, commercial farmers and many more. All these are ministries that the body of Christ has to understand. Nevertheless, the church does ignore those areas and think they are not assignments given to the church by God. When Adam was created, he discovered his purpose. He found his way into the garden to take care of it. Purpose is a topic that the body of Christ has to nail it to the understanding of the people.

You cannot fulfil purpose if you have not discovered purpose. You cannot work if you are not told what to do. You know you are supposed to work but what type of work are you supposed to do. Is one thing to discover purpose and another thing to fulfil purpose? Purpose undiscovered cannot be fulfilled.

Paul the Apostle of Christ Jesus has taught the church seriously about purpose but the body has not yet comprehended it fully. There are still loopholes, which are yet to be covered, and those loopholes are those that are yet to discover their purposes. Paul taught us about purpose when he was writing his first letter to the church of Corinth. He began his lectures on purpose so that he could delete the issue of confusion among the people. The people were confused about this topic called purpose. Therefore, Paul used the whole of his last chapter of his first letter to the Corinthian church to mentor them on purpose. I believe that letter was not only meant for the churches as at then but Paul foresaw the confusion in today's church and had to take his time and expand it well for the people to settle their confusion. He said you are all worshiping God and doing the work of the ministry but are not all playing the same role in the ministry. You are not all serving the same purpose, the whole council of God has been divided into various purposes and each member of the church has his/her own purpose, so be mindful of your differences. Everyone is carrying a different gift but the same Spirit and the same Lord. No one operates with a different spirit or Lord but you all operate by the same Lord. Moreover, all these gifts were given to the church for the profiting of all, that what one carries will be a blessing to others and that the whole council of God on earth will be accomplished so that God’s name will be glorified. The nine gifts of the Spirit are given to each person according to the will of the Father. Some are given the gift of faith, healing, prophecy, word of wisdom etc. God gives all these gifts; they are never serving the same purpose but together the whole council of God is established on
