About this ebook

It is my sincere desire in this writing to somehow inspire action by those who read it. At this writing, our nation teeters on the edge of a knife. Elements of destruction from within, I feel, have never been so strong in America's history. We are, I fear, one step from losing the rights and freedoms provided to us by our Founding Fathers. I see the very fabric of our constitution under attack by a government where all power lies in the coercive efforts of the few or just one! This situation should scare any red-blooded American and stir up a righteous anger toward it. Are we to become a nation run by despotic rulers, where the common man is just a subject or a country of nation-states similar to that of old Europe, where we are red versus blue? May God forbid!

Here I will attempt to give justice to the subjects covered. My goal is not just to state facts and figures, although these are included, but to draw out and put forward the wisdom of those great men and women who founded this country and wrote its governing edicts. I have found that seldom will a person take the time and put forth the effort to investigate for themselves what really is the truth. I am not judging here, as I was guilty of the same problem. But what I have found out over the years since I took charge of my own inputs is, truth is truth and can never be untruth, no matter what the subject.

When I look at our great nation today, I wonder if what it has to offer those who immigrate to it has not diminished. Is there truly an offering of real freedoms, rights, and opportunities, or is this just smoke and mirrors, with the reality being that our nation is headed toward the problems that many are trying to get away from? America is quickly losing its grip on the constitutional framework it was built upon. Our freedoms demand that we all do our part to reestablish it.

The question remains: Will complacency prevail, or will America wake up? Choose!

I want to thank my heavenly Father, who through his Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit, gave me courage and guidance in writing this book.

I want to also thank Mr. Steven Rabb. It is his writing The Founders' Speech to a Nation in Crisis that provided the springboard upon which propelled me on my journey here. I only hope that I have presented his thoughts in a way that do justice to his fine work.

I wish to thank the many authors whom I have had the fortune of being exposed: Francis A. Schaeffer, the Holy Bible (KJV), Ron DeSantis, Frederick Douglass, and many others. Their writings are inspirational.

I wish to thank my family, especially my sister Toni, who has always been a bulwark in supporting my efforts.

Lastly, I wish to thank my wonder wife, Yvonne. Without whose support over the years, I would not be who I am today. I love you!

    Introduction

The author's sincere desire for writing this book is driven by the degradation of American culture over the last few decades, and he hopes to inspire positive action by those who read it. Most books on the subjects covered here are put together in a format to present facts, figures, and other information that deliver knowledge and education. His writing, although following this general path, is written in a combined style that includes a conversational element. At this writing, America teeters on the edge of a knife. Elements of destruction from within have never been so strong in its history. We are, it seems, one step from losing the rights and freedoms provided to us by our Founding Fathers. He points specifically to how the very fabric of our constitution is under attack by a government where all power lies in the coercive efforts of the few or the one! This situation should scare any red-blooded American and stir up righteous anger toward it. Are we to become a nation run by despotic rulers, where the common man is just a subject, or a country of nation-states similar to that of old Europe, where we are red versus blue? May God forbid!

This book will give an attempt to do justice to the subjects covered. The goal is not to just state facts and figures, although these are included, but to draw out and put forward the wisdom of those great men and women who founded this country and wrote its governing edicts. It is also through the presentation of material by many reliable witnesses, those of standing and worth, that evidence is given as to the condition of America today. The author fully understands the cultural issues of today's America.

At a time when real discourse is seldom possible by those of differing views, he knows that there will be many who will not agree with his presentation of truths. He does hope, however, that these individuals will keep an open mind and will take time to discern for themselves through research the subject matter presented within the following pages. He objectively presents the fact that truth, to many individuals in our society, is what they hear and see as presented on Facebook, Twitter, and the like; to them, what they hear on social or mainstream media is gospel. Seldom will a person take the time and put forth the effort to investigate for themselves what really is the truth. He does not act as judge and jury in any of the subjects covered but accepts that he himself would be going down the same roads but for the grace of God. It has only been the fact that he has taken charge over the years, of his own inputs, that he has learned that truth is truth and can never be nontruth, no matter what the subject.

America is a vast melting pot of Indigenous and immigrant peoples. In his seventy-plus years, the author has been blessed to have traveled around the globe and most of the United States. This attributed to a career in the air force. In his travels, many of which were to developing countries, and applying a concerted reading effort, he has acquired a good understanding of who the people are in them and how their differing governments function. He has come to understand why these people have a desire to immigrate to America, it has one common denominator (life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness). Our author is mostly of Italian descent and has a family history of immigration. He, however, was born and raised in the USA and does not have firsthand experience of what it must be like to leave the country you were born in and love, to make the sometimes-perilous journey to the land of the free. So it is in talking with these individuals, and being exposed to their stories, that the author must cling to in an effort to understand. When we look at our great nation today, we must ask whether what it has to offer has not diminished. Is there truly an offering of real freedoms, rights, and opportunities? Or is this just smoke and mirrors, with the reality being that our nation is headed toward the problems that many are trying to get away from? America is quickly losing its grip on the constitutional framework that our Founding Fathers laid and that this country was built upon. Our freedoms demand that we all do our part to reestablish them.

    Wake up, America!

    Chapter 1

    From Many

I can think of no better place to start this writing than with the timeless words of our first president, George Washington. They're such a beautiful prose to inspire anyone, words written to declare the absolute certainty of America to a watching world. For those who have immigrated since this founding, America is to them a beacon of light that is set on a hill for all mankind to see. For those fortunate enough to be born here, a fortress of protection against the evils of foreign despots, tyrants, and dictators. May it ever be so!

The citizens of America, abounding with all the necessaries and conveniences of life, are now acknowledged to be possessed of absolute freedom and independence. They are from this period to be considered as the actors in a most conspicuous theater which seems to be peculiarly designated by Providence for the display of human greatness and felicity. Here they are not only surrounded with everything which can contribute to the completion of private and domestic enjoyment, but Heaven has crowned all its other blessings by giving a fairer opportunity for political happiness than any other nation has ever been favored with.

The foundation of our empire was not laid in the gloomy age of ignorance and superstition, but at an epoch when the rights of mankind were better understood and more clearly defined than at any former period. The free cultivation of letter, the unbounded extension of commerce, the progressive refinement of manners, the growing liberality of sentiment, and above all, the pure and benign light of Revelation, have had ameliorating influence on mankind and increased the blessing of society. At this auspicious period, the United States came into existence as a nation, and if their citizens should not be completely free and happy, the fault will be entirely their own.

Such is our situation, and such are our prospects; but notwithstanding the cup of blessing is thus reached out to us, notwithstanding, happiness is ours, if we have a disposition to seize the occasion and make it our own. Yet it appears to me there is an option still left to the United States of America, that it is in their choice, and depends upon their conduct whether they will be respectable and prosperous, or contemptible and miserable as a nation. This is the time of their political probation. This is the moment when the eyes of the whole world are turned upon them. This is the moment to establish or ruin their national character forever. For it is yet to be decided whether the Revolution must ultimately be considered as a blessing or a curse—a blessing or a curse not to the present age alone, for with our fate will the destiny of unborn millions be involved. (Rabb 2020, 5)

These powerful words from America's first president stand and are cast in stone. If we listen to what is said, we must ask ourselves which condition we are going to cling to. Today's America is quite different from the one of Washington's days. We may see this situation as opposite sides of a coin. On one side is the beginning of America and all it promises to give. As a new constitution to mankind, it has led millions of peoples in bondage under monarchs and tyrants to flee to its borders for a new life and a chance at freedom—a blessing. On the other side is today, where influential individuals, some of which are in our current government, wish to remove these blessings by their extreme liberal views and are pushing to put America under the rule of tyrants and despots—a curse.

In Deuteronomy 11:26–28 (KJV), we read:

Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; a blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day; a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

It has ever been the pride and boast of America that the rights for which she contended are the rights of human nature. By the blessings of the Author of the rights on the means exerted for their defense, they have prevailed against all opposition and formed the basis of our independent states.

James Madison had many things to say of liberty.

In this view, the citizens of the United States are responsible for the greatest trust ever confided to a political society. If justice, good faith, honor, gratitude, and all the other qualities which enable the character of a nation and fulfill the ends of government be the fruits of our establishments, the cause of liberty will acquire a dignity and luster which it has never yet enjoyed, and an example will be set which cannot but have the most favorable influence on the rights of mankind. If on the other side, our governments should be unfortunately blotted with the reverse of these cardinal and essential virtues, the great cause which we have engaged to vindicate will be dishonored and betrayed; the last and fairest experiment in favor of the rights of human nature will be turned against them, and their patrons and friends exposed to be insulted and silenced by the votaries of tyranny and usurpation. (Rabb 2020, 6)

"And regretted would it be were we to neglect the means and to depart from the road which Providence has pointed us to so plainly. Indeed, I cannot believe it will ever come to pass," George Washington once said (Rabb 2020, 7; emphasis mine).

Indeed, I cannot believe it will ever come to pass! I wonder what Washington would say if he could be present to hear the radical proposals made by many government officials of today. From the White House down to local government, individuals are pushing to remake America, supplant its Constitution at all levels, and replace freedoms and rights for all with a more-for-me-and-none-for-them tyranny. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Would he repeat these words, or would he see the very foundation he and others built come crumbling down, only to end up in an ash heap?
