    Dedication

I would like to dedicate this book to two people who have had a major impact on my life: my wife, Emmie, and Dr. Chuck Missler. My wife has inspired me to stand fast in my convictions when persecution comes, to always speak the truth that sets people free, and to never compromise when it comes to the Word of God.

Dr. Missler has also inspired me through his Bible teachings, books, and videos, which helped me understand the historical facts and spiritual truths of the Bible.

    Introduction

This book is designed to look at all the specific and prophetic events leading up to the Tribulation, as well as those events that will take place during and after the Tribulation. Its format can be described as a handbook for all Christians to have and use to explain various events occurring during the End Times.

This book is a must-read for all believers so that no one falls prey to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons in the latter days.

It is also written in a style for unbelievers to understand simple biblical truths prophesied in the Bible. The most important truth is the need to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior in order to avoid the future wrath of God coming to the earth.

    Chapter 1

Events That Take Place before the Tribulation

    Event #1: The Church Age

Fact 1: We are currently in the Church Age today. We have been in the Church Age for over 2,000 years.

Fact 2: The Church age began in AD 32 at the Feast of Pentecost. We read about this event in Acts 2:1–4. The twelve apostles and over 100 of Jesus’s disciples were waiting with one accord in the upper room of a house when the Holy Spirit appeared to them as fiery tongues resting on each one of them. They were all instantly filled with the Holy Spirit, which gave them the power and boldness to go forth and preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Church Age is where God allows anyone to become a child of God by believing in and confessing Jesus, His Son, as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9–10).

Fact 3: The Church Age will officially end when the Rapture of the church takes place. Only God the Father knows when it’s time for Jesus to go get His church. Jesus tells us in Matthew 24:36 (NLT), However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, [referring to the Rapture], not even the angels in heaven, or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. Since the Father is the only one who knows, this also keeps Satan off guard and nervous in regards to Jesus coming back to get His church. By not knowing the time, Satan cannot do anything ahead of time to delay or stop it.

Fact 4: Just before the Church Age ends, and before the Rapture takes place, the Bible prophesies in 1 Timothy 4:1 that there will be a great falling away in many churches as we near the end of the Church Age. We read in 1 Timothy 4:1 (KJV), Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times [nearing the end of the Church Age] some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils. In 2 Thessalonians 2:3 (KJV), we also read, Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.

Fact 5: The falling away will occur in two areas of the Church Age: (a) in ungodly living and (b) false teachings or false doctrines will enter many church denominations.

Let’s break down what Paul tells us about the great falling away in 2 Thessalonians 2:3. He states:

Let no man. — The Greek tense here means a stern order given or a strong prohibition to reject.

Deceive you. — The Greek word for deceive is exapatao, which means to cheat you, to seduce you by a trick, to lure you into deception using any means, or someone who promotes delusional thinking.

"By any [or no] means." — The Greek words of this phrase are kata medena tropon, which means do not give them an inch in anything to manipulate you in any fashion.

For that day shall come. — What day? The day Paul is referring to is the Day of the Lord or the Rapture, which he mentioned previously in verse one.

Except there comes a falling away first. — The Greek word for falling away is apostasy, which means revolt or a mutinous attitude both politically and socially against God.

If you combine all the Greek words in verse three of 2 Thessalonians 2, it would say:

I order you to let no man cheat you, try to trick you, to lure you away by any means into delusional thinking. Do not give them an inch in trying to manipulate you into any false doctrines that will cause you to revolt or have a mutinous attitude toward the things of God.

This verse tells us that there will be a worldwide rebellion against the principles of God and His Word. There will also be a change in society’s attitude toward God. We see this going on today as many churches are compromising God’s Word by allowing sins the world promotes into their church. This falling away will make being a true Christian very dangerous. It will become so perilous for Christians that Jesus will have to rapture His church before the persecutions against His church turn deadly. This leads us to the next event of the Church Age, the Rapture.

    Event #2: The Rapture

The word rapture in Greek is harpazo, and in Latin, it’s raptus. Both in Greek and Latin, it means to take away, to snatch, or to be caught up in a dangerous time. The two scriptures that tell us about the Rapture are 1 Thessalonians 4:15–18 and 1 Corinthians 15:51–52.

Fact 1: God promised in His Word that all who have been born again during the Church Age will not suffer any of His wrath that is to come. The wrath Paul is referring to is the twenty-one judgments listed in the book of Revelation that God releases on the earth. The scriptures that support this promise are (a) 1 Thessalonians 1:10 (KJV), which says, And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come, (b) 1 Thessalonians 5:9 (KJV), which says, For God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, and (c) Romans 5:9 (KJV), which says, Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Fact 2: The Rapture is described in detail by Paul in 1 Thessalonians 4:15–17. He says,

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ will rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

    — 1 Thessalonians 4:15–17 (KJV)

Here is the breakdown of these three verses:

Verse 15 says, For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord that…

We who are alive. (The Greek word for alive is hoizontas, which means living or vibrant ones.)

And remain. — The Greek word for remain is perileipo, which means surviving ones or those few who are left. It also indicates not many or a small remnant that will be left who have faith. This is the result of the falling away, which occurs right before the Church Age ends. It creates massive defections from the faith within the church.

Unto — The Greek word for unto is eis, which means right up to the moment. What moment?

The coming. — The Greek word for coming is parousia, which is an expression of a royal visitor, a king, or an emperor who has the ability to deal with any situation.)

Of the Lord shall not precede them which are asleep. — The Greek word for asleep is koimaomai, which means to sleep deeply, or taking a temporary nap, or sleep of death, or those who are physically dead.

This verse simply means that those who have died in Christ will be raptured first, and those Christians still alive will be raptured second. If we combine the meaning of all the Greek words in verse fifteen, it would read:

For we declare this to you by the Word of the Lord, those who are still alive and who have survived so far. I am talking about the remaining remnant that will still be on the earth at the time of the Lord’s coming, those remnants will not precede those who have already died.

Verse 16 says, For the Lord Himself shall…

Descend. — The Greek word for descend is katabaino, which means to come down or to move downward from a higher place to a lower place.

From heaven. — The Greek word for from heaven is ouranos, which means cannot be any higher.

With a shout. — The Greek word for shout is keleusma, which means a direct order or a command to rouse the troops for battle.

With the voice of the archangel. — The Greek word for voice is phone, which means a mighty roar of water or an overpowering wind.

And with the trumpet of God. — In Greek, this refers to a war trumpet, indicating total victory over God’s enemies.

The dead in Christ. — The Greek word for dead is nekros, which means a lifeless corpse.

Shall rise first. — The Greek word for first is protos, which means before anything else takes place.

Once again, if we combine the full meaning of all the Greek words in verse sixteen, it would say,

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven to take over with a military command that will arouse the saints, God’s troops to action, and also with that command, exactly at that moment, we will also hear the mighty voice of the archangel, along with the blast of God’s war trumpet, indicating God’s victory over His enemies. When that war trumpet sounds, the dead in Christ will immediately be resurrected to a royal status. This resurrection will take place as a priority over anything else that will take place.

    Verse 17 says:

Then. — The Greek word for then is epeita, which means at that exact moment when verse 16 occurs.

We which are alive. — The Greek word for alive is zoopoieo, which means physically alive, or living or vibrant ones.

And remain. — The Greek word for remain is perileipo, which means not many, or a very small remnant left with faith who have survived the great falling away.

Shall be caught up. — The Greek word for caught up is harpazo, which means to snatch, to seize, or to take away in the nick of time from danger. This tells us the Rapture of the church will occur during a dangerous time to be a Christian.

Together with them in the clouds. — This refers to the first heaven or the atmosphere we see when we look up at the sky during the day or night (sun, moon, clouds, stars).

To meet the Lord. — The Greek word for meet is apantesis, which means to give a grand reception to a newly arrived official or a royal dignitary. This verse tells us that Jesus is going to give us a VIP reception.

In the air. — The Greek word for air is aeras, which means the lower regions of heaven or the atmosphere. Basically, we go up, and Jesus comes down to meet us.

And so shall we ever be with the Lord. — The Greek word for ever is pantote, which means at all times or continually for ever more.

The full meaning of the Greek words in verse seventeen would be:

Then, at the exact moment, those who are still physically alive, the small remnant still around at this time having faith, will suddenly be snatched away out of imminent danger just in the nick of time to meet the Lord in the air, who will give us a royal red-carpet reception. And then, after that, we will always, forevermore, be with the Lord.

Fact 3: Let’s now look at what Paul says about what happens to our physical body during the Rapture. He says in 1 Corinthians 15:51–52 (KJV), Behold I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Here is the breakdown of these two verses:

    Verse 51 says:

Behold. — The Greek word for behold is idou, which means bewilderment, shock, to be absolutely amazed, to pause and just say wow!

I show. — The Greek word for show is logos, which means to tell us what He is so stunned about.

You a mystery. — The Greek word for mystery is mysterion, which means a secret that was once hidden but is now revealed. The mystery is:

We shall not all sleep (meaning a sleep of death). — This verse tells us there will be a generation of Christians who will be physically alive when the Rapture takes place. They will not experience physical death.

But we shall all be changed. — The Greek word for change is allasso, which means to be transformed or to exchange one thing for another. The exchange, in this case, is losing our physical mortal bodies and exchanging them with a new immortal, supernatural, glorified body, like Jesus’s.

Using the meanings of the Greek words in verse 51, it would read:

What I am about to say will absolutely amaze you. Listen very carefully, for I am going to tell you something that was previously unknown, a mystery. The mystery is that not all will die physically but will be changed and miraculously transformed from a mortal physical body to an immortal body.

    Verse 52 says:

In a moment. — The Greek word for moment is atomos, which means a split second or a tiny, microscopic flash.

In the twinkling of an eye. — The Greek word for twinkling is rhipe, which means so fast that it’s almost undetectable.

At the last trumpet, for the trumpet shall sound. — This is the same Greek word for trumpet that we covered earlier. It’s God’s war trumpet declaring victory over His enemies.

And the dead. — The Greek word for dead is nekros, which means dead corpses or those who have died in Christ.

Shall be raised incorruptible. — The Greek word for incorruptible is aphtharsia, which means incapable of decay or capable of suffering from the wear and tear of old age.

And we [who are alive] shall be changed also by receiving incorruptible bodies as well.

Once again, if we combine the true meaning of all the Greek words in verse 52, it would say:

In a moment that is so fast it is almost undetectable at the sound of the victory war trumpet, the dead will stand on their feet and will be resurrected to receive a new miraculous, glorified body incapable of decay or effects of age. It will be immortal and indestructible.

Fact 4: The Rapture of the church is not the second coming of Jesus. They are two separate events. Here is a list of the main differences that tell us that they are two separate events:

In the Rapture, Jesus stops in the air or halfway to earth (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17).

    In His second
