    Foreword

‘Chariot Wheels in Motion: The Three Angels` Messages’ is an eschatological Christian book designed to share more profound, thoughtful insights on God’s end-time messages of hope and warning for the inhabitants of the world. Although the three angels’ messages mirror God’s end-time present truth for this world of deception and sin, a vast preponderance of the world’s population, including many Christians, are oblivious of these solemn and stately messages. However, the messages of the three angels are the world’s ripening harbingers divinely designed to make ready a people prepared for the Lord’s harvest. The three angels’ messages recoil a curtain to unveil a distinctive perspective on future world events. The core tenet of these messages is justification, sanctification, and glorification by the faith of Christ Jesus. Therefore, Jesus Christ, His Word, His righteousness, His heavenly sanctuary ministry, and Saving power in the cosmic conflict (the great controversy) stand at the core focus of this eschatological book. In particular, the book sheds tremendous light on significant themes of redemption such as the everlasting gospel, the Fear of God, Judgement, True Worship, Babylon, Mark of the beast, Commandments of God, Faith of Jesus, to mention but a few. These messages, the world’s ripening harbingers, are messages that will ripe the world for the Lord’s harvest and divide the world into two groups in the last days of this earth’s history—those who truly worship God through faith in Christ Jesus by following the Sola Scriptura (Bible alone) as the only rule of faith and practice and those who worship the beast and his image by following the commandments and traditions of men. And because neutrality is not an option here, the three angels’ messages ensure that everyone has gotten the opportunity and privilege to choose between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. That the study of the book may be of prodigious blessings to those who pursue it with a sincere and humble heart to know the present truth, and that the word may be highly esteemed through the working of the Holy Spirit to make every reader better apprised with Scriptures, which are able to build him or her up and make him or her wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus, is the humble and diligent prayer of the author.

    Introduction

Long after many centuries of ‘prophetic silence,’ the Messianic prophecies concerning the first advent of the Messiah were fulfilled. Christ Jesus was incarnated of the Holy Spirit; He was born of a virgin; He lived, ministered, was betrayed, and put to death; He rose again from the dead and ascended to heaven to culminate the ministry which He had begun on Calvary’s tree. Before His ascension to the right hand of the throne of the Most High, Christ bequeathed the world with a sublime assurance that, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also (John 14:4). So, yes, Jesus is coming again with power and great glory unto salvation. But this time, not as ‘a man of sorrows’ (Isa. 53:3), but as a ‘KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS’ (Rev. 19:16). That the inhabitants of the world may be prepared for this extraordinary event, Christ has sent three angels—first, second, and third, in order—to proclaim an everlasting gospel, His end-time message of hope and salvation to all peoples, nations, kindreds, and tongues.

These indispensable, awe–inspiring messages, the focus of this eschatological book, are lucidly outlined in Revelation 14:6–12. The title of this book is borrowed from an apocryphal ideology of a chariot wheel, which was a circular block of hard and lasting material or carriage driven by charioteer via horses to offer rapid motive power. Chariots were fast, light, and open conveyance used to transport weapons and archery during the bronze and iron age. Etymologically, ‘wheel’ originates from the old English word ‘hweol or hweogol,’ which means ‘to revolve, or move around.’

This etymology accurately and beautifully portrays the messages of the three angels, which are divinely ordained messages to revolve and move around the entire world, To every kindred, nation, tongue, and people (Rev. 14:6), before Christ comes the second time. The speed and swiftness of the chariot wheel mirror the swiftness with which the three angels flying in the midst of heaven are to bring to bear the glad tidings of Christ to the inhabitants of the world before the ‘Mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets’ (Rev. 10:7). The durable iron and material components of the chariot wheel speak of the everlasting nature of the messages, the everlasting gospel.

Moreover, the chariot wheel had some outstanding, cardinal parts. These were: axle, bearing, spokes, and rim. These together facilitated the functioning of the chariot wheel. Interestingly, each of these parts has some allusions to the Three Angels’ Messages. The axle, which is the central part of the wheel, allowed the wheel to rotate and provides a fixed, stable centre for the chariot wheel. Relatedly, Christ is the centre of the three angels’ messages. He is the focus and aim of the messages, as in all Scriptures. His great, infinite sacrifice, the basis of our salvation, is the axle of the messages. All aspects of the messages run on, and rotate through, Him. They are indeed anchored and rooted in Christ Jesus, His word, His righteousness, His sanctuary service, and His saving grace or power in the great conflict between good and evil. Said the Bible: Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only when the preaching of the messages is centred on ‘Christ and him crucified’ (1 Cor. 2:2) that the efforts of the angels (messengers) cannot be without true success.

That means all those who preach these stately messages as well as those who read and hear them must be able, through the grace of God, to make Christ the centre of their lives before it is everlastingly too late. Just as the wheel, in and of itself, and alone, was not a machine until it was connected to an axle, in conjunction with a bearing, so are the messengers and hearers of the three angels’ messages ‘nothing’ without Christ, the axle. Christ Himself said, I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing (John 15:5). Indeed, without Him all our human efforts and wisdom will just be unavailing and futile. The axle of the chariot wheel was supported by a bearing or hinge, which allowed flexible rotation. As the wheel of the chariot was made to run or rotate on the bearing or hinge, so must the preachers of the messages run on Christ’s Spirit. In other words, they must humble themselves to be empowered and used by the Holy Spirit. Throughout His earthly ministry, Christ was strengthened and supported by the Holy Spirit, and it is the same Spirit that He has given to support His missionaries in the proclamation of the three angels’ messages today (Acts 1:8; Luke 11:13; Joel 2:23, 28–32).

Another cardinal part of the chariot wheel that mirrors the messages of the three angels was the spokes. The spokes of the wheel were several rods radiating from the centre of the wheel. They were closely connected to the axle to facilitate cohesiveness and speedy movement. These spokes represent the various themes of the three angels’ messages, all of which are rooted in Christ’s saving power and achievements. Thus, the themes—Fear God, Give glory to Him, Hour of judgement, Worship Him who made the heaven and the earth, Babylon is fallen, Mark of the beast, The commandments of God, the faith of Jesus—and all that these entail, are represented by the spokes of the chariot wheel.

As the spokes were closely connected and attached to the axle, the centre, so are the various themes of the three angels’ messages centred in Christ, the only Saviour. They are tightly connected and find their meaning and significance in Him. In fact, they proceed from Him. A typical chariot wheel could not function effectively and efficiently with even one spoke missing or broken. In the same vein, the three angels’ messages are incomplete even if just one theme is missing. There’s no part of the messages to be treated as unimportant and irrelevant. Together, they represent God’s end-time messages of love and warning to the inhabitants of the world. Just as the spokes of the chariot wheel moved together to facilitate smooth movement, so are the messages of the three angels to be presented in their entirety. Any purported attempt to diminish a theme (spoke) or add to the themes (spokes) will only lead to spiritual darkness and theological drift.

The final part of the chariot wheel akin to the three angels’ messages is the rim. The rim is the only part of the wheel that touches the ground, allowing for smooth movement and running of the wheel. The rim represents the mission of the three angels’ messages, which is to revolve and move around the world to insulate theological drift and false teachings and doctrines and to infuse the world with God’s end-time present truth. As the rim of the chariot wheel ensured smooth rotation, so are the messengers who preach the three angels’ messages called to ensure that men are moved smoothly from the darkness of error into God’s marvellous light of truth and grace. The messengers are ‘to go before Him (Jesus Christ) in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord (Luke 1:17).

Every chariot wheel was driven by someone called charioteer. The rider or the charioteer of the wheel represents the messengers, God’s end-time remnant. Their responsibility is to tell the world about the saving power and grace of Christ in the great controversy, His immutable law, His righteousness, His intercessory work in the heavenly sanctuary as well as His soon advent in the clouds of heaven with great power and glory. Every believing soul is called with a holy calling to ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature,’ and ‘to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me’ (Mark 16:15; Acts 26:18). Every believer is saved to serve. Blessed to bless. And delivered to rescue others. This is our duty! This is the purpose of our holy calling! This is our mission! Nothing more, nothing less, nothing else. Therefore, nothing else should absorb our attention more than this stately, entrusted responsibility!

All things happening around us today demonstrate that we are undeniably living in the perils of the last days when we need more carefulness and soberness than ever before. Day after day is elapsing into eternity, drawing us more rapidly to the close of probation and end of the ages. It is, therefore, extremely important for us to rise to duty and prepare to meet our Lord Jesus Christ by devoting precious and quality time to the study of the prophecies, the end-time messages of hope and warning, that God, in His mercy and love, has given to us through the Three Angels’ Messages. Therefore, study them; obey them; And share them.

Paul, writing to the Romans, reminded them of the nearness of the second coming of Christ and the urgency for preparation to rendezvous Him: And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now, our salvation is nearer than when we first believed (Rom. 13:11). Peter, too, writing to all Christians scattered abroad, said, But the end of all things is at hand; therefore, be serious and watchful in your prayers (1 Pet. 4:7). On the same theme about the nearness of God’s judgement upon the inhabitants of the world, Zephaniah wrote, The great day of the Lord is near; It is near and hastens quickly. The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter; There the mighty men shall cry out. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of devastation and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, day of trumpet and alarm Against the fortified cities and against the high towers (Zeph. 1:14–16).

Indeed, very few today can deny that despite our seeming advancements in technological and scientific discoveries and insights, problems and tide of woes loom on the horizon every now and then. Technology appears to improve our lives (convenience, speed) but it cannot save our lives from sin and eternal death. The world is filled with pollution, chaos, hatred, accidents by lands, sea and air, troubled and stranded souls, wars, famine, earthquakes, death, sorrow, conflicts, upheavals, betrayal, envy, the pride of life, the lust of the flesh, busyness, among others.

Something seems erroneous! Things are ostensibly out of step. The hearts of many are crippled by fear. Many do not know what the future holds for them. The more recent coronavirus pandemic, which came to be known as COVID-19, revealed to us our finitude and limitedness as humans to fix the problems that really affect us on this planet. It spoke to us the dying nature of the world. Almost every major economic, environmental, and social activity came to a stalemate, both at the personal, national, and international level. Indeed, the pandemic demonstrated to us our nothingness without God. Paul was right: For we know that the whole creation groans and labours with birth pangs together until now (Rom. 8:22).

But our story is not without hope. It is not without solution. It is not without end. Upon the thistles and thorns that were to be our lot in consequence of sin, we see flowers, which indicate the unconditional love of God for a broken and a corrupt world that deserves nothing but destruction. Because the world, in and of itself, offers us no hope at all, it is the everlasting gospel alone, proclaimed by the three angels, which is ‘the grace of God that brings salvation…to all men’ (Titus 2:11), that can give us the real source of hope and peace that our souls can ever long and crave for.

The gospel presents us with the hope of peace with God, because it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, The just shall live by faith (Rom. 1:16–17). No wonder that Apostle John, seeing the hopeless state of the world in his time, stood and two of his disciples with him, And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, ‘Behold the Lamb of God!’ (John 1:36). To John, the hope is no other person than Jesus Christ. And this truth, indeed, is still valid for us today, as well. Jesus Christ is the hope of the world. He is the solution. He is the end to the sin problem. He is the desire of all nations. He is the world’s Creator and Redeemer.

The central leitmotifs of this little book are thus Christ and His vision for our fallen world. The book is therefore designed to bring to the view of the reader God’s end-time message of love and mercy to the world lying in sin and moral darkness. According to the Bible, the three angels’ messages are messages that will ripe the world for the second coming of Christ (Rev. 14:13–20). They are the world’s ripening harbingers. These messages ensure that everyone has had a chance to choose between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of Satan. When these messages have been worldwide proclaimed, The mystery of God and the time of human probation will close, and Christ will return to take all those who heeded to the warnings by repentance and reformation.

Accordingly, this book steadily walks you through God’s end-time message or better called end-time present truth, that you need to hear before God’s judgement will be visited upon the earth. It highlights the need for people from all walks of life to exercise ‘repentance towards God,’ whose law they have disobeyed, and ‘faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ’, through whom alone they can have hope of obtaining forgiveness for their sins. It is a ‘MUST-READ BOOK’ for everyone—believer or unbeliever—living under the sun today! I hope you will find your spiritual journey through this book worthwhile and valuable. God bless your choice.

    Chapter One

    The Message

"Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people—

7 saying with a loud voice, ‘Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.’

8 And another angel followed, saying, ‘Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.’

9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, ’If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand,

10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.’

12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus"
