The Triad, a military force of planets in the Milky Way galaxy, has reported an unknown wormhole. Wormholes come and go throughout the galaxy and seldom are a major concern for the Triad.

However, the captain who encountered this one reported that this crack in space was suspicious. It was slowly growing and widening.

Captain Lorkus Denta was top brass, and when he voiced concern, the Triad listened. Tempers were high, and the threat of war was brewing along the Dorinent Belt.

Lorkus was also on his way to pick up weapons for his home planet, Terra Kratus. It was part of the Dorinent Belt; if war erupted, he had to ensure his home was adequately armed. It would also mean he would return home to fight.

He and his crew found the wormhole by accident. With all the unrest in the Dorinent Belt, he wasn’t sure what that rift in space was. But he wouldn’t be a casualty of ignorance, and his ship was going back to inspect the anomaly further.

Lorkus headed for an unregistered outpost in the Bayou system to pick up the weapons.

As they entered the outpost’s docking bay, his mind was on the wormhole. What if it was a portal? But to where? He pushed his thoughts from his mind as the ship docked. He needed those weapons.

As he entered the vast cargo bay, he quickly scanned the area and found nothing unusual until his eyes spotted a stunning little brunette. What the fuck was a pretty human female doing on this deadbeat depot?

His second-in-command elbowed him. Lorkus, let's get our cargo and get the fuck off this shit hole. Keep your fucking cock in your pants. She’s not for sale.

Military funerals are somber affairs. Lori Hansen would miss her husband, Trevor. He died for a worthy cause, saving Earth from alien invaders.

Since Earth became part of the space exploration Triad, transporting cargo was highly profitable. But Trevor needed more and helped transport weapons when the galactic wars broke out.

It’s what took him down.

The enemy aliens tracked down every weapons cargo ship and destroyed them; Trevor’s ship was among the last to be attacked. Lori wept but knew her husband would have had his end no other
