Adventure 12: Misos on a Mission

The Miso Mice went back to the mezzanine and told Tara, Tarie, Can-Can, Aquie, and Ari what they had found and their plans to take Sandman to the Rainbow Bridge but first they would need to make a quick stop at the Lobst-A-Lantis Casino to get their treasure chest back.  Do you think Sandman will mind? asked Suzy.

Aquie laughed and replied, Mind?  I bet he would very much enjoy this adventure as there’s a rumor that at one time he was one of the best cat burglars in the Universe and could actually help you very much.  Sandman, what do you think?  And he just winked an eye and began grooming his paws as if in preparation to pick a lock.

Tarie agreed that this was an excellent plan and asked Suzy to keep her updated in regard to their adventure to find The Answer Book and Suzy said that she would.  Suzy then said that they would set sail in about ½ hour and both Suzy and Tara laughed about time as it’s creation had indeed been interesting, to say the least.  Everyone took their leave of each other and the Zodiac Girls said that they would come to their parking space at the Star Port to see them off.

Later at the Star Port....Can’t thank you enough for your warm welcome, wonderful party and your kind and gracious hospitality, said Suzy as she hugged each of the Zodiac Girls who had come down to say good-bye.

From me too, added Polly as she also hugged each one of them.  I had such a good time and you’ve left me with lots to think about.  All aboard that’s coming aboard, announced Polly as she and Suzy boarded the ship.  Curiosity and Shelly also said goodbye and Shelly promised to keep gathering and saving any sea glass for them that she found during her beach walks.  They hugged, boarded the ship, and went to stand at the railing.

Aquie was holding Sandman as she said, Sandman are you ready to go? He licked Aquie’s hand, and responded with a series of soft meows, something that he had never done before.  This cat did not meow!  Aquie was very touched and said, I know that you have chosen to go beyond-physical and will do so at the Rainbow Bridge, but I will miss you here in the physical and am sad, she said as a tear made its way down her cheek.  But I respect your choice, wish you well and say adieu, until we meet again on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.  The others gathered around petting and hugging Sandman and thanking him for this wonderful experience he had chosen to share with them.  Aquie gave him one final hug and pet and then very gently placed him on floor.

Sandman, are you ready? asked Kat.  He took one last look at Aquie, walked up the gangplank, effortlessly jumped onto the railing of the Miso Mice sailing ship, and settled himself by curling his tail around his feet as he watched Kat say her goodbyes.  As Kat hugged Aquie she whispered to her, I’m sure he’ll be back soon.  And although Aquie knew that it was Sandman’s choice, and yes maybe he would be back in the physical soon, but she would feel sad until that day.
