Curtis Yost

My name is Curtis Yost and I have been creating content for over twenty years.  I never felt that I had enough life experience to talk about things.  As I got older, I realized that having fun while writing was what I wanted to do and published my first series. American Isekai was a two year planned series that is now be writen every single day until I finish it.  The books are completely character based on some of the most flawed people you could imagine to save the world.  I'm proud of it and hope that when it ends, people will want to enjoy their own dark fantasies after.

    Controlled Freak - Curtis Yost

    Chapter 1

The darkness surrounded me. The night sky shined off only a single star. Gravity seemed to be turned off in my current world. I felt light as a feather but couldn’t move. The star was shining down on me. It blinked like there was some sort of code. I didn’t know Morse code. I didn’t know any code that would tell me what this star was saying.

I wanted the star to leave me alone. The blinding light was directly pointed at me. This was supposed to be my personal Hell. Absolutely alone, with nobody or anything to interrupt me. I was stuck here to dwell on the fact that my friend killed me. I thought. Maybe, I’m just in a coma. The bullet could have grazed me a bit. I might just be unconscious.

This light of the star was trying to guide me. It kept moving around in all directions blinding me to get my attention. All I could think of was Don’t follow the light. The light was often a sign that you were ready to pass on to the next life.

I wasn’t ready to die yet. My life wasn’t over. I needed to come back and be the Baba Yaga. I needed to beat the living fuck out of Craig. That traitorous fucker killed me. I needed to kill him and the whole fucking family. Every last one of them. Even the fucking children. The sins of the father went too far this time.

Craig sent his fucking goons after me and then finished the job. That simp of a spineless man. That fucking coward made it look like I was being saved. The government knew what he was from the very beginning. I want to come back. I want to see him suffer. This was not my end. I will have my revenge.

I slowly lifted myself up with my right arm. I leaned over and boosted myself up. My forearm boosted me up. This was going to be a long journey. My body was so heavy that I struggled to get off the ground. It felt rather warm. Something in this world was keeping my warm. It was like a cozy feeling next to a fireplace.

My legs were flat on the floor. My upper body was leaned upward. I looked left and right. The room appeared to be endless. I couldn’t feel any pain physical pain. The only thing that I seemed to feel though was the achiness of my heart. I lost so much in a short period of time. Maybe death was the answer. I rubbed my ankles to see how much feeling I had left over. I could feel the touch. The feeling left in my legs and ankles seemed foreign. I didn’t recognize the feeling. My body didn’t seem to have much sensitivity. This led to a harsh reality. Masturbation wasn’t going to work in this world.

The light shined bright accentuating all my features. I was naked. Every scar that I ever had was missing. The hair on my legs was also missing. Nice, I’ll never have to shave my legs again. Unless the devil sees that as a punishment. Anal sex and hairy legs seemed like the worst thing the devil can do. Except for the fiery pits of Hell. Even then, the fire would burn off all that irritating leg hair.

I got on my right knee and stood up. My hands were on my hips. The damn star kept blinking at me. No, I’m not following the light. I thought. I never had any intention of following the star. I could still make it back to Earth.

My head slowly worked its way around. Each small inch while rotating was causing a loud crackling sound. There should have been a mild amount of pain from the cracking. I felt nothing. The adjustments on my body were slowly getting there. I just needed to get my body used to this world.

My body was still able to gain a good stretch. Not that it would matter, but wanted to know if I had a gymnast body. I did not have a gymnast body. My body restricted itself before I would normally feel pain. Jacob would fling my legs over my head and stretch me five times better than this world would allow.

When I slid my right leg forward, it stopped and refused to let me go further. You could have asked Jacob. I had moves that made him squeal like a little girl. I kept up foot over my head for hours while he pounded away at me. I miss the little things in life or in his case, the big things in life.

The light kept getting brighter. I stood up on my own two feet. There was nothing holding me back from walking. My legs were a little wobbly at first. It was having a hard time holding my frame. My legs felt like they had fallen sleep. A problem that I knew that I could overcome.

I took two steps back and noticed the floor was lighting up. The colors were purple, blue, green, brown, yellow, white, and red. Each step flashed and shined for many feet in front of me. This place wasn’t Heaven or Hell. Religion might have been wrong all along.

The star shrunk down and spun around me. It left behind a magic trail of color. The specks coming off of it spark like tail were falling onto my skin. It glowed and made my skin tickle. My skin looked translucent. I could almost see right through it. The magic from the star was putting color into my skin. The colors were blue, green, and purple.

The colors on my skin glowed brightly. I looked down and saw my heart. There was a giant gaping hole in my chest. The color was black and barely beating. I could see it pulsating at me. The star was covering every part of my body, but my heart. My face tickled as it was being filled in with vibrant colors. I had never been so confused in my life.

My heart didn’t look attractive at all. The darkness of the heart seemed to be pumping Black blood. There was no blood or organs around the heart. I figured there should at least be muscles to protect it. There was nothing to protect my heart. It looked dry and even had a small odor. It was the only thing that I could smell at the time.

I looked down at the floor to see a reflection. That was when I saw my face was filling in. This was not my face. The colors were morphing around and creating an image of another woman. I never saw this face before in my life. I looked quite beautiful but didn’t like the change.

My hair was the same. I could see the fire red coming out of it. It was literally the only thing on me that looked natural. I felt like a toy that was being painted. The star stopped coloring me. The only spot it missed was my black heart.

I walked forward a few steps. The color on my skin was blending and morphing the skin. The shades and colors moved around like a disco ball was shining on me. The colors whirled around me like waves. I was sparkling like a diamond. Nothing about this place felt natural at all. Each step I took was brightening up the room.

A voice in the distance said, Show me your heart.

The voice was calm and pleasant. It had the voice of a mother talking to her child. I walked in the direction of the voice. It was the first voice that had spoken to me since I got here. If I didn’t answer the call, I might be down here alone forever. I ran in the direction as fast as I could. I felt no breath out of my mouth but was breathing heavily.

I replied, My heart is black. I can’t find you. What do you want with my heart?

I was hyperventilating. There appeared to be no air but suffered from a lack of oxygen. I was beginning to feel pain in my chest. I stopped and put my hands on my knees. My black heart was beating violently. The heart slowly began to tear.

I was bent over trying to regain my bearings. The tear in my heart was dripping out blood. The blood didn’t seem normal at all and was really thick. The color of the blood changed from black to purple. Purple blood was falling out onto the ground. The floor swallowed the blood up as if it was a tasty snack. I tried to ignore the blood and focus on the voice.

My mind was racing trying to find this voice. I did my best to ignore the heart. My heart was tearing apart and in pain. Pain to me was just my weakness leaving the body. There were moments from my hearts pain that I enjoyed because it meant there was still hope for living.

This was the afterlife. There was no death here. There was severe pain, however. A part of me wanted to go back to when I first got there. There was some sort of protection on me from feeling too much pain. I pushed myself to walk more. My knees were buckling and making it harder to walk forward. My heart was literally breaking. There was nothing I could do about it.

The pain was excruciating. I wanted to cry but had no tears to cry with. I needed some help. I wanted some help. I was getting tired of doing everything in my life alone. Life is rather strange. There are so many moments where you want to feel alone. When your truly alone, you strive for companionship. Moments like these made me feel indecisive.

I stopped and bent forward. My chest was leaking out the most beautiful purple blood. The hole appeared to small but seemed to drain me very fast. The blood from my heart poured onto the ground. I felt lightheaded and needed to take time to rest.

The lightheaded feeling had caused me fall backward. My arms spread out like angel wings. I slowly fell to the ground. My body didn’t have the strength anymore to walk toward the voice. I hadn’t heard anything else. I must have just hallucinated. I was so weak. I needed to find strength from somewhere. I don’t have Michelle to give me strength anymore. She always took care of me. Even when I was at my lowest. I missed my mommy.

The blood was coming out of my chest. I was bleeding so much that my heart was shooting out of the hole. I was a bloody fountain. Make a wish with all your heart. As I thought these things, I wished that I somehow gained the strength to live my life better and stronger.

The pain wasn’t slowing down. Instead, it increased with each heartbeat. I was in my own personal Hell. I looked to my right and my blood was forming things. My purple blood was gaining a life of its own. It was forming a pathway.

A world was being born with my blood. I seemed to be creating life. My blood was transforming bricks. The smooth surface was weird looking at first. The blood was going into the cracks. All that I knew was that a yellow brick road was forming from my purple blood.

With each passing moment, the bricks were being formed. Each brick was shifting around. The road seemed to have life of its own. The shaking of the yellow bricks sounded like a child was crying. I was enjoying the sights and chose to laugh through the pain. My pain was creating a brand new world. Something about it seemed worth the pain. My heart was in so much pain but created so much beauty.

The yellow brick road led down a path a dark and misty path. The blood, my blood, was expanding to different sections. The darkness outside was closing up and life was springing. Grass and trees were forming.

The grass was blue. A mixture of blue from the sky and blue from the water. The grass was moving like the wind was blowing. The swaying was causing a lighted feeling from the smell. It smelled like fresh cut grass. I loved that smell when I visited outside the city. I did find it queer that grass was swaying like that. There was no air blowing in the entire place.

The trees began to form right off the grass. The bark was red as the sun. The leaves were purple and flying through the sky. A sky was black and hadn’t actually formed yet. The world seemed to be shaping up rather nicely. I believed that I was creating my own paradise. I was creating something spectacular.

I was in a lot of pain doing it. I didn’t care. I was creating my own little piece of Heaven. If this was my forever home, I had to make this place perfect. My eyes squinted hard enough that I could barely see what was going on. I had to focus and watch as the world I created was unfolding.

The pain was going away. My skin was covered in my own blood. The colors were washing away on top of my skin. I was looking human again. I wiped away the blood was smeared under my eyes. I felt reborn and old at the same time.

I grunted as I got up. My body felt like that of an eighty-year-old woman. My body was stiff and having a hard time moving. I looked at the sky and still saw darkness. The world above seemed infinite. I would never be able to create the sky. At least, not alone could I create the sky.

I stood up and walked over to the first red and purple tree. I thought the bark would be rough and able to scrape my hand. The bark was soft like cotton candy. I caressed it to see if it would flake off easily but didn’t. I wondered what it tasted like. My teeth went straight into the tree. I had to try this out.

The problem was that I was very good at making things seem more interesting than it actually is. It tasted like tree bark. I immediately spit out the bark that was in my mouth. The tree tasted like a mud pie. I tried to scrape the taste out of my mouth. The taste lingered for a long time. There seemed to be no amount of spitting that got the awful taste out.

A voice sounded off again. It said, Come to me, child. We need to talk.

The voice was coming from down the yellow brick road. I walked over to the road and put my feet on the road. The bricks were hard as a rock earlier and felt soft and squishy. With each step, you could see my feet leaving an imprint. I looked over at the winding brick road. The curves in the road were so bad that I couldn’t see past the trees. The mist was making it hard to see past my nose in certain spots. A purple flicker of light would randomly flash every couple of minutes.

I took my first step forward on the road. The wind blew and made almost musical notes. The wind wasn’t strong but could be seen. It was white like in some idiot artist's painting. I could see the colors of the wind all around me. The wind looked like white spirals that a juvenile would put in a painting. This was the first moment wind was represented to me in this world. I was trying to adapt to it all. I kept telling myself. This couldn’t be normal. The place slightly reminded me of the Wizard of Odd.

The course in the yellow brick road led around an enormous red tree. The bark, leaves, and roots were all red. It was surrounded by purple grass. Normally, I wouldn’t be curious, but the worst thing that can happen was death. I was already dead. This led me on a path to see the tree closely.

The red tree was violently blowing in the wind. The leaves were rotating like saw blades. The flow of so many leaves moving caused a slight fear. I was stupid and didn’t think that there would be things far worse than death here. I was feeling a little curious. My curiosity always did get the best of me.

The tree tried to ward me away from it. The razor-sharp edges of the leaves should have been an indicator that it wasn’t meant to be trifled with. I tilted my head looking at all the beautiful reds in its bark. The tree seemed to have no ill intentions but feared me instead. I saw the tree shaking. The shaking caused more leaves to fall off the tree. As the leaves fell to the grass, it seemed to trim the grass.

I set my foot on the edge of the yellow brick road. The purple grass seemed to move in a fearful way. The grass seemed to be swaying away from me. An aroma swept the land. It was the smell of freshly cut grass. The smell always calmed me. Mickey used to cut their lawn. The noise from the lawnmower used to drive me crazy. The smell, however, would drift throughout the neighborhood. I miss the simple things already. I don’t know why I keep telling you this. It was just a special memory. I guess.

My first foot hit the grass. The grass felt like it was trying to escape beneath my feet. It tickled quite a bit. Each step got me closer to the red tree. I realized that this might have been a bad idea. The closer I got to the tree, the more I could hear it breathing and growling. The tree sounded almost hollow. The noises were echoing within the bark.

I didn’t stop but should have. When I got within a few feet of the tree, the grass went up and stabbed the bottom of my feet. The grass turned into daggers that went through my feet. I screamed in agony.

I collapsed and fell backward into the grass. Blue blood dripped from my mouth. My mouth drooled out the blood. I tried to stay standing up. There was something in the grass. A paralytic that weakened my body.

My body refused to function any longer. My entire body was getting pierced. The grass was sucking the colors out of my body. The blood from the black heart was slowly disappearing. I was trying to crawl backward. The grass was tying me down to the ground. The pain was excruciating. My eyes were squinting hard and dripping black blood from them. I made a big mistake.

The red tree took a branch and slowly reached in my direction. The branch slithered like a snake. My right ankle was grabbed. The tree pulled upward. The grass was holding on tightly. It didn’t want to let me go. My blood was pouring out feeding the grass. My black heart was pumping even harder. It created so many colors that I couldn’t recognize myself anymore. My arms looked like they were turning translucent.

The red tree pulled me up violently. It shook the grass off more with each pull. I was freed from the grass because of the tree. It used another branch to hold my left ankle. I was raised far above the grass. The grass kept growing and flying around violently like whips. The grass couldn’t get high enough to grab me. The grass was screaming and spitting purple all over the ground. The grass appeared to be bleeding to death.

I was upside down being held by red branches. More branches began to slither out of the tree. I saw this in a horror movie once. I thought the tree was about to rape and rip me apart. I swallowed my blood in my mouth hard. It was harder to do since gravity still had a place in this world. The branches wrapped around my arms and waist. I couldn’t move a muscle.

The red tree opened two slots showing the inside of the tree. The tree had many circles and knots in it. The tree was alive. The holes resembled eyes but had no eyes. Instead, there was a red glow that light up the inside of the tree. The glow was strong and only flickered when the tree blinked its eyes.

Below the eyes was a mouth that looked like daggers opened up. The teeth formed out of the bark. The teeth were shaped like that of an icicle. The downward edges looked gnashed from devouring so much. A tooth on the left of it looked broken off. It growled with its mouth shut. When it opens its enormous mouth, red splinters were flying out. There seemed to be nothing fast about the tree. Every movement that I saw seemed to be deliberate.

The tree was about to eat me it appeared. I knew this was my own personal Hell. My red hair dangled downward to the ground. My blood was slowly dripping from the hole in my chest. The grass below was fighting for every drop that was falling. The grass appeared to be starving. Each drop of blood was causing the purple grass to whip around more violently. Everything in this world seemed to be out for my blood. I just hope my body doesn’t wear down and be forced to sleep.

The red tree said, You... appear... to... be... off... the... path.

I replied, You looked so different and beautiful my friend. I meant you no harm. I just wanted a closer look.

The red tree responded, Stay... on... the... path... creator.

The red tree spun me around. Its branches could not reach the brick road. I was thrown back onto the yellow brick road. My body was filling with color again. My black heart was pumping fast and recovering everything that I lost. My body felt weak but could not sleep. I wouldn’t want to sleep anyway. This place will destroy me if given the chance.

I hit the ground hard. The yellow brick road had a bit of friction to it. With each bounce, my body was being ripped apart. My skin was scrapped on the road causing severe brush burns. I wish there was something to protect me at least a little bit. My arms head, and ass looked like I was in a motorcycle accident. I at least could use a good pair of clothes to help me through these moments.

I lay on the road while my body was healing. The road began to vibrate fast. Each brick was moving around. I lay there wondering what the hell I was thinking. The yellow brick road was trying to make up for hurting me, I think. The vibrations felt great on my back. That meant only one good thing. There might be
