To facilitate this empowerment, He bestowed upon us the keys of the kingdom of heaven, as stated in Matthew 16:19: "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
The lack of awareness regarding these keys and how to effectively apply them to one's life is a primary cause of limitations among Christians. The Power of Binding and Loosing - William Danquah

    Introduction

The Church of God has been vested with tremendous power to dominate the kingdoms of this world with the principles and values of the kingdom of heaven.

Unfortunately, this profound truth remains largely undiscovered by the majority of Christians. Their failure to grasp this mystery is the root cause of their operating far below their God-given potential.

You, as a product of spiritual rebirth through Christ Jesus, have been designed to live a life of consistent triumph. Winning always and advancing on every level of your life. Your destiny is to exercise dominion over the circumstances of your existence, with no external forces subduing you. This is God’s hope for recreating you in Christ Jesus.

When God created the first Adam and his wife, He bestowed His blessing upon them, instructing them to "...Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth" Genesis 1:28. Through this blessing, God implanted within mankind the seed of fertility, abundance, and the capability to exercise authority over every living thing on the face of the earth.

God's original intent or purpose for creating man remains unchanged. Despite the shortcomings of the first Adam, Jesus Christ, as the second and last Adam, has fully restored God's glory to us. He said, "And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one" John 17:22. Jesus has bestowed upon us the same glory that He shared with the Father from the beginning, empowering us to fulfill the divine purpose for our creation.

You carry within you the divine essence of God’s glory and you must always walk in that consciousness.

Activating this inherent glory of God empowers the new man in Christ to assume a commanding role in all that concerns them. In this book, The Power of Binding and Loosing, we will delve deeply into the ways in which we can effectively harness God's glory within us, particularly in the context of 'binding and loosing' a medium given to us by God to replicate heavenly patterns in this earthly realm to His glory.

    Chapter One

Understanding the ‘Keys’ of the Kingdom

And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

    —Matthew 16:19 —

"AND I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven..." It is vital to pay attention to the tense used in this text. Jesus stated, And I will give you... This statement signifies a promise. In other words, when He made this statement, He had not yet given the disciples those keys.

The question that arises is, Did He indeed bestow upon them the keys to the kingdom of heaven? and if He did, what do these keys represent?

As children of God, it is our responsibility to delve into the Scriptures to seek answers to these questions. This is because we have been granted the ability to comprehend the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. As Matthew 13:11 states, "He replied and said to them, 'To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.'"

Yes, it has been granted to us as new creations to know [Greek: ginosko] the secrets of the kingdom of God. Ginosko means a revealed knowledge. It is when you are brought into a type of knowledge that empowers you to dominate in the affairs of your life through its appropriate application. It is a kind of knowledge that possesses the ability to put you in command of life.

Therefore, even though God has provided us with His Word, it is cloaked in mysteries and until we dedicate time to study and explore the Scriptures by the power of the Holy Spirit for precise, accurate, and profound knowledge, we will continue to operate in ignorance, as though we lack power. Proverbs 25:2 says, "It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter." Your honour, as a child of God, is directly linked to the depth of your revelation in the knowledge of Christ.

This is the reason why God gave us His Spirit—to unveil the mysteries of the kingdom unto us.

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God."

    1Corinthians 2:9-10

Until the eyes of your understanding is enlightened, you will continue to walk on in darkness.

Until the deep things of God are uncovered unto you, you will continue to function in shallow waters of life. It takes those who have a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit to know God’s agenda for their day to day existence.

While the Word of God is accessible to us all, what sets one Christian apart from another is the level of revelatory knowledge they possess. Consequently, nothing is more detrimental in this kingdom than the grip of ignorance. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge... Hosea 4:6. As I repeatedly emphasize, the struggle of Christians does not stem from the devil's excessive power but from a lack of knowledge.

What you lack knowledge of is precisely what constrains you, and the limit of your knowledge is the limit of your performance.

The moment your comprehension is illuminated, it signifies your moment of liberation.

Hence, knowledge is a key factor in any area of advancement.

In order for us to operate proficiently within the realm of God's kingdom, let us explore the profound secrets of keys, as unveiled in scriptures, and discover how to employ them effectively to bring about the transformations we desire in our world.

    What are keys?

"And I will give you the keys..."

    Matthew 16:19

When we hear the term keys, we typically think of a metal tool used to unlock a door or gain access to a restricted space. While this is accurate, it represents a limited understanding of the concept of a key as used in scripture.

This limitation arises because not all keys are physical objects made of metal.

You often hear phrases like knowledge is a key or prayer is a key. What these expressions convey is that knowledge and prayer can provide access to certain closed doors or opportunities in life.

Therefore, I want us to broaden our perspective on what a key represents since that will enable us to comprehend the true meaning of the text.

Keys therefore are mediums or avenues through which one can gain entry, or prevent access to, a particular realm, domain or territory. It serves as a tool for acquiring or maintaining control over a specific task, area or jurisdiction.

Hence, a delegated power [authority], knowledge, concepts, ideas, principles, precepts and laws are all keys, possessing the ability to unlock and propel one into the realms of influence, wealth, health, liberty, peace and the like.

What you must know is that life is governed by doors or gates, and each door has its own set of watchers to guard them. For instance, when God drove the first Adam from the Garden of Eden, He placed cherubim and a flaming sword to guard the gate of the garden.

"So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life"

    Genesis 3:24

That is why it is impossible to locate the garden to this day. The watchers have kept it hidden from the sight of men.

Likewise, there are treasures of darkness and hidden riches kept from men, which can only be accessible by God unfolding them unto us through the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Isaiah 45:3 declares:

"And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel."

There is no way one can access the treasures of
