Dr. Daniel Roberts is also author of the book THE EVOLUTION SOLUTION which deals with recovering health through knowledge gained from the evolution of the Homo sapiens. It is while researching this area of science that he becomes interested in DNA studies related to a number of things. Addiction to adrenaline, as seen in compulsive runners and gamblers, points him in the direction of investigating other addictions. Having alcoholism in the family and having narrowly escaped this condition himself takes him to investigate a genetic cause. He becomes interested in how members of Alcoholics Anonymous deal with the problem. It is only after thirty years of investigation and countless hour of interacting with recovering alcoholics, that ALCOHOLISM SOLVED-NOT YOUR FAULT, was born.

FOREWORD

The most interesting, admirable and humane people I have encountered in my life have something in common: a history of having suffered, confronted and overcome some enormous difficulty of such magnitude, that by all accounts, had seemed impossible to solve.

Somehow they were able to learn that daring to be positive under adverse conditions, one day at a time, uplifts the soul, stimulates the subconscious and mobilizes forces they were unaware they possessed.

Having been able to connect to this exceptional survival mechanism seems to awaken within them an attitude of humility, affection, compassion and a unique ability for sensibility and commitment to life and to others.

These attitudes are not born out of nothing. They seem to come from pain defeated, anguish and sadness resisted - and from the triumph of human warmth over tremendous difficulties.
