    Dragon Farming - Daisy Rose

Inara Green has a job to do in Wunderlust. She believes herself to be as prepared as anyone can be. However, the moment her plane reaches the threshold of the land, she realizes she may have bitten off more than she can chew. The weather changes from the warm summer that the rest of the country is experiencing to a snow blizzard. But the bizarre weather is not the only thing that takes her by surprise.

The golden-eyed man who meets her at the airport is nothing like she had expected.

The novice mage has been tasked to check out Cain Industries, a dragon farm, and make a suitable recommendation based on what she finds.

If only she could keep herself from being distracted by Micah Cain, brother to the owner of the farm. The attraction between the two is undeniable, but she must remain impartial and prove herself worthy of the job that she had been tasked with.

Except she falls for him immediately and things grow more complicated when she finds herself at the mercy of a man who hides a secret that is too big to ignore.

    Sneak Peek

He made another sound, a grumble growl of hunger, and spread her legs wide open. She hisses. In the same moment that the pinpricks of pain pierce her, his tongue dip against her hole, a warm swipe massaging where she was confusingly sensitive. Ah, she shouted. Wa-wait. Why're you- what're you-

She should have told him about her inexperience so that he would take mercy on her, but it was far too late now, what with all her clothes already discarded and his face between her legs, licking up her slit like it was an offering specifically for him.

She couldn't move away from him with his hands holding her so firmly and could not kick herself free even with her heels pressed against his shoulders, digging in so harshly that she knew for sure that it would hurt him, but he did not even budge at all, as if she weighted nothing to him. As she watched he kept licking up her slit, and then paused to spread her pussy lips open with his fingers so that his tongue could spear inside of her, touching parts of her body that she had never explored before.

Oh, oh, she gasped, throwing a hand over her eyes as her body began to undulate and move on it's own, arousal gathering all through her body. The aching desire to continue being eaten out was almost as surprising as how much comfort she felt in his arms. Mercy, she cried out. Mercy, please. I can't- I can't-

He didn't pause. He did not even slow, his tongue moving in and out of her tight heat, the soft organ teasing her hole open, spreading her wider with his fingers until she was gasping with pleasure.

I want- she gasped, breath humid against her palm as she mashed her hand to her face, unable to contain how much she was feeling. You're too- ah! She came with a shriek that was completely unbecoming, but he did not care. He continued licking against her pulsing hole and teasing her clit as colors swirled in her vision, small blue lights like fireflies in the night.

Awareness came to her slowly, edging into her vision as she became aware of the warmth of his body crawling up to her, fitting himself to her.

He nuzzled against her cheek and curled his arms around her body, pulling her up to him.

Please be gentle with me, she whispered, embarrassed to admit it out loud, but feeling like she need to let him know so that neither of them would regret this. I've never- I've never made love before.

    Prologue

Inara Green stared in wide-eyed shock at the ground far below. In her reflection on the window, her eyes were like the snow below. It gave the unsuspecting and the impression that she was blind.

That couldn't be further from the truth. If anything, she saw far too much.

Is something the matter? the elderly woman sitting next to her asked.

    Inara glanced to her, frowning.

You gasped, the woman explained. At least, I assume it was a gasp. Is the weather not what you expected?

She chewed on her lower lip for a moment, and then nodded. I was told beforehand that the weather could be unsuspected, given the high level of magical density in the area, but I did not expect Wunderlust to be so cold, she said in a confidential whisper, as if afraid of setting off a panic. I thought it was just a bank of clouds, but I can see little headlights down below. The ground is covered in snow.

Mrs. Holder laughed, though she managed to look somewhat sympathetic while doing so. I prefer the cold to the scorching heat we get sometimes, she divulged. Antoine seems very far away right now, doesn't it?

She nodded. A world away. I was born and brought up in Antoine, she said. I've only left home to study in the North once. I've never seen snow, except when we worked with the Northern Dragons once and in those tiny glass-bubble igloos.

Really? asked the woman. You've worked with Northern Dragons? What brings you here?

Research, she replied, letting out a long, pent-up sigh. I work for the Magical Artifacts Acquisition Department that's based in Antoine, but they're thinking of expanding its horizons. I'm here to check out the magical community for a possible collaboration. If there's an agreement, I might have to stay to help with the integration. She grinned weakly. I could be here for quite a while.

Didn't you have any idea what you were getting into when you accepted this assignment? Mrs. Holder asked, closing her book and sliding it into her handbag.

Inara shook her head. I'm not someone who can make their own decisions on where to go, she said. The orders came and I started packing. She didn't question orders. But it wasn't like she hadn't done her research. She knew the magical density in the area is high, as was the shifter population, but she did not think the magical density would affect the atmosphere so severely. It was summer before they reached the threshold of the city, whereby the view outside the window had changed to a stark whiteness.

You didn't prepare yourself for what to expect of the climate? she asked, like an approving but amused schoolteacher.

I haven't gotten to that part of the dossier before the flight was scheduled for me to leave, she admitted. There was also the matter of her pride, of course. She thought she was equipped to handle anything that Wunderlust had to throw at her. How bad could it be? she asked.

Mrs. Holder opened her mouth to answer, hesitated, and finally reached out to pat her hand. You're probably right, my dear. How bad could it be, indeed, she echoed.

    Chapter One

Micah Cain pulled off his fleece-lined gloves and unzipped his dragon fur-filled jacket as he raced into the Wunderlust airport terminal, glancing around the main floor in the hope of spotting the person he was supposed to meet.

When he didn't see anyone who filled the bill, he stopped at the nearest Arrivals monitor to find out whether the flight had landed.

Stern eye scanned the list and he swore when he saw the flight number that he was looking for. The plane had been right on time. He was fifteen minutes late.

He marched to the baggage area. The revolving carousel was empty, and the only remaining passengers, two men in business suits, were engaged in an animated conversation with a long-suffering baggage handler who was trying to get them filled out a lost-luggage form.

Deciding to have his passenger paged, Micah was about to head for the information desk when he turned toward a nearby car rental booth and spied a pair of long, shapely legs encased in utterly impractical knee-high boots. His gaze traveled upward over a sunny yellow coat that was pretty enough, but even from afar he could tell that it would be utterly useless in Wunderlust's sub-zero weather. Her hair was a lovely shade of black that shone blue and gold in the light.

He smiled as he strode over to the booth. The woman was striking in the way that most of her kind were and when she looked up to meet his gaze, he was struck by the molten silver in them. He wondered if that was a common characteristic for mages to have. He had not met any mages at all in this part of the world.

Or perhaps she was just pissed that it had taken him so long to be there.

His pulse quickened as he moved towards her and he could not be sure if it was because it was important that they made a good impression of her or if he was affected by her beauty. She had striking features, not just the eyes, but her pale skin and high cheekbones, her full lips begging to be kissed.

Realizing that she hadn't confirmed her identity, he called out to her, Are you Inara Green?

She nodded, looking cautious as she eyed the hand he was offering her to shake. You must be Mr. Cain, she asked in return, her eyes fixed on the shallow cleft in his chin.

I must be, he said. We're not formal around here. I'm Micah.

Her smile was guarded as she accepted the handshake. It's supposed to be Peter.

Peter's my brother, he offered. He asked me to pick you up and drive you out to the farm. A little problem came up that kept him from coming for you himself. I'm sorry for the delay.

Micah, she said softly, finally taking his hand.

She was a slight thing, barely reaching his shoulder. But he should not be fooled by her lack of height. Her strength laid beyond the muscles on her body. There was the smell of lighting and fire when he was close enough to scent her.

Werewolf? she asked, amusement thick in her voice when she caught him sniffing. His brother was better at scenting people
