    CHAPTER 1

The days always seemed extra bright and beautiful on the Maldive Islands. A stunningly gorgeous woman of mixed heritage casually fluffed her silky, dark, rosewood-colored curls and breathed in deeply. She felt refreshed as the ambrosia-scented air filled her lungs. She basked in the beauty all around her. The aroma was a blend of jasmine flowers mingled with passion fruit flowers and fresh cut mangoes. That combination smelled like life-giving magic.

The breeze shifted slightly, gently tussling her short, sassy curls, and added a bit more salt to the air. The aquamarine colors of the ocean waves were clear, gently lapping on the shores of those low-lying islands with a rhythm that calmed the soul. The sand felt powdery and fine under her bare feet. The water was exactly the right temperature… a gentle warmth that inspired her to swim or play in it. Everything about the Maldives makes those islands one of her favorite places on the entire planet.

Those islands feel like a dream from which no one would want to awaken. She couldn’t get enough of them. She always created reasons to visit. She looked towards the southwest and wondered when her best friend would arrive. She hadn’t seen her friend in too long. They had both been so busy living their lives. This was the perfect place to catch up and enjoy some much-needed goddess time.

She decided to commit every detail of the current view to memory. She laughed as dolphins began dancing above the waves, singing a greeting. They let her know her friend’s ship was on time. She sent them her heartfelt gratitude for the confirmation and encouraged them to thrive as they enjoyed their pelagic existence. She was constantly in awe of nature and felt infinite gratitude for the endless inspiration nature’s beauty offered her in every detail she could perceive.

The dark-haired beauty didn’t consider herself a goddess in the same sense that her best friend did. The humans classified her as a goddess. She has many names, some of them from the humans. The name used most is Santa Muerte. Her family and friends called her Mojo.

Mojo was a multi-dimensional being who was from a universe that no longer exists. She was capable of visiting many dimensions simultaneously. She has traveled to so many places and met many interesting individuals. She’s met some who create dimensions. She has many abilities, including the capacity to allow others to travel as well.

When humans experience what they call death, their souls often seek her out. She helps them travel to wherever they wish to go. Many different species in various spectrums of life purposefully find her when they experience what their version of death is. She calls death evolution, transformation, or travel, depending on how the individuals experience it.

She has helped many different souls by allowing them to travel to where they wanted to go. For some, it is their version of heaven; for others, it is their version of hell. She has even introduced some transitioning souls to beings who create dimensions so they can enjoy their next experience in exactly the ways they wish.

She evolves, but very intentionally. She is always aware of the direction she is growing. She would be the first to explain that freedom is equal to responsibility. All life deserves respect and autonomy. That is why she doesn’t consider herself a goddess in the same ways humans define the term. She enjoys using their vernacular, so she rolls with it in mixed company.

It just so happened that the lovely planet humans call Earth is a meeting place for many different types of beings. She’s been hanging out there for a good long while and doesn’t plan on leaving anytime soon.

There are so many species in her spectrum of life and they all tend to congregate. They share ideas, gather for various feasts, rituals, or ceremonies, and in general commune with each other. Sometimes, some of the beings attempt to influence the species native to Earth, especially the humans. This is mostly frowned upon unless the end results are conducive to overall health.

Mojo has been known to introduce inspiration for ideas on occasion. She loves watching humans thrive. She is extremely cautious about influencing the native species and typically won’t get involved. It is important for them to evolve as organically as possible.

When Mojo took human form, which she has for many millennia now, she chose to appear as a woman of multiple ethnicities. When she is asked about her heritage, she says she is of Mexican, Scottish, and Irish decent. She has a heart-shaped face framed by her silky, dark curls. Huge cat-like eyes that change color based on her mood but are usually celadon green. She has luscious lips many say are devil-shaped because her full top lip ends sharply and looks like the devil’s horns. She often wore a rich, blood-red matte lip gloss. Red accentuates the fullness of her mouth perfectly. She has ivory skin that almost glows in the dark and very obviously has Latina curves. She is five feet, seven inches tall. She loves to dance. She dances for sacred rituals, for fun, and whenever she feels like it.

Mojo walked into the playful waves a few feet and enjoyed the sensation of the water beckoning her to dance with it. She took a few moments to reflect on how all the water on Earth is always willing to facilitate life. Water has been a part of many life forms on the planet since it first formed and has such a unique perspective. She loves communing with it, especially when it’s feeling so impish like it was that day.

She danced with the water and swirled in time with the waves. The sand shifted under her feet as she danced. She laughed when she noticed some crabs joining her. Life is especially sweet on those islands. She was glad her best friend agreed to meet her there for a few weeks. She finished dancing and walked back towards the luxurious bungalow she would share with Gaia when she arrived.

    CHAPTER 2

A ship came into view on the horizon line. She decided to meet it at the dock because that was Gaia’s ship. She chose to wait in a place that was near the dock’s edge to allow the other passengers plenty of room to disembark. She still had a clear line of sight so she could spot her friend easily. She watched people arrive from her half-shadowed location and was glad to see how enthusiastic the first arrivals were.

More and more people left the ship. Gaia still hadn’t appeared. As the last passengers walked down the dock, she saw her! She left the friendly shadows and enabled the spell she had used for millennia to greet her friend. Her spell made it easy for Gaia to find her. The light created a rainbow above her that pointed Gaia to her location. The rainbow was in a spectrum the humans could not see. She saw her friend’s beautiful smile light up the dock. They hugged and both started talking at once.

They laughed at themselves and paused to let each other continue. Mojo’s grin only got bigger. She hooked her arm in Gaia’s. They walked joyously together towards their bungalow.

Mojo leaned toward Gaia and laughed, Don’t stop on my account. She squeezed Gaia’s arm gently. Tell me everything about your trip. She cocked her head to listen. She couldn’t stop grinning as she anticipated all the happy memories they were about to create.

Gaia’s pearly smile gleamed in the afternoon sunlight. Her golden hair glinted like a curly halo of light ranging from a white gold to a rich, ripe wheat. This made her look even more ethereal than usual. She leaned towards Mojo and their curls intertwined. Gaia smelled like lilacs at sunrise in those magic moments before the morning mist disappears when the wind shifts and carries it away. Her skin already had a deep tan. She seemed to radiate a golden light from the inside out. Her large almond-shaped royal blue eyes lit up with joy as she looked at Mojo. Her long ochre dusted lashes curled upwards, and her arched brows framed her beautiful round face.

Gaia was wearing a glossy cotton candy pink on her full lips that complimented her rosy cheeks perfectly. She squeezed Mojo’s arm in response and answered with her melodic voice, You know I always love traveling by sea the best! There is nothing like skimming over the changing blues, greens, and grays of the water as we travel from one ocean to the next. I love experiencing all her moods. She laughed as Mojo twirled her around.

Mojo laughed, I’ve met very few individuals who appreciate all of the ocean’s moods! She grinned at Gaia incredulously.

Gaia laughed, True! Seeing all the life that is curious enough to come take a close look at the ship is always exciting for me too. I’m delighted to greet them back and take as many pictures or videos as I can for all this new online social media stuff. I had a wonderful trip! The crew spoiled me rotten, as usual. Her smile contained the myriad of joyful interactions she had.

Mojo noticed a hint of mischief in Gaia’s eyes. She guessed Gaia probably had a lot more private memories to share.

They reached their bungalow. It was more of a luxury home with modern accents. Mojo released her best friend’s arm slowly and drew her into a proper hug. The travel bag slung across Gaia’s back made this challenging, but they managed just fine. They were about the same height. Gaia was slightly shorter than Mojo, but almost imperceptibly so.

Mojo breathed in Gaia’s glorious lilac scent and lowered her voice as she gushed, I’m so glad you had a great trip! so she wouldn’t yell in her ear.

She stepped back and watched as Gaia put down the only bag she carried with her. Mojo took her bag and walked towards the center of their shared bungalow.

She turned back towards Gaia with a huge grin on her face and purred, I’m on the left side. I’ll put your bag in the bedroom suite to the right. I hope you are ready to have the best time ever! The fridge is full. If we don’t have what you want, we can get it from the amazing folks who live here. We have so much to catch up on. I’ve missed you tons! She twirled in her excitement and headed towards Gaia’s bedroom suite.

Gaia laughed at Mojo and replied with her signature sassy tone, We could always conjure up anything we desire. To make her point, Gaia put her finger on the white quartz countertop that had cobalt blue streaks through it and conjured up a pitcher of white peach sangria. It had cinnamon sticks inside it along with delicious ripe peaches.

She also made several bouquets of hibiscus flowers appear in a range of colors from red, pink, orange, and multicolored blossoms that were pink at the center and yellow at the edges. The multi-colored bouquets created the effect of a warm, inviting fire. Gaia instantly felt more at home. She poured two glasses for them and they toasted to their trip. They savored the cool, sweet sangria for a few minutes before getting back to settling in.

They listened to the melodies being sung by the fiery bouquets of hibiscus flowers and were inspired to play more music to add to their paradise ambience. They enjoyed their ever-full pitcher of peach sangria and burst into laughter periodically as they talked about the recent months.

Gaia got up to start unpacking. Mojo followed her into her bedroom suite. Mojo did a few merengue steps before gracefully sitting on one of the cozy couches in Gaia’s room. She relaxed as her friend began to unpack.

Mojo noticed some vibrant colors and textures coming out of Gaia’s bag. Her eyes were alight with curiosity as she asked, What did you bring this time? She was delighted to see all the beautiful treasures Gaia was unpacking.

They both knew Gaia had created much of the life on the planet. They definitely enjoyed the option to indulge in all that they desired. Several of her children were incredibly talented artists and it was obvious whoever created the lovely, shiny, silky thing Gaia pulled out of her bag was one of them.

Life was truly magical when you get to be a goddess. They both lived their lives to the maximum. They also enjoyed the strength to accept the weight of responsibility that power required.

Gaia glanced her way and shot her friend a coy smile before holding up a shiny, silky smooth gold colored dress that was barely-there in all the right places. She twirled around and held it up to her ample bosom. She cooed, I had this made in Paris before I left. What do you think? She shimmed in place and grinned wickedly.

Gaia always knew exactly what to wear. Mojo often asked for her advice when choosing clothes for special occasions, which was almost all of them.

Mojo smoothly got up and touched the cool fabric. It slithered away from her hands in the most pleasant way. She purred, That must feel divine. I’m sure it will turn every head here. Gorgeous! She didn’t want to stop touching it, but she did with a considerable amount of self-control. She beamed at Gaia, I cannot wait to see you wear it! and returned Gaia’s mischievous look with a wink.

Gaia’s wicked smile deepened and she reached further into her bag. She pulled out a rich, blood-red barely there dress very similar to her gold one and held it out to Mojo. She couldn’t hide her delight as Mojo took it from her and held it up.

Mojo was entranced… it was just as stunning and she adored how silky smooth it felt in her hands. Gaia took Mojo’s wrists and held the little red number close to Mojo’s body. The mischief in her eyes crept into her tone as she announced, I had this one made just for you. It will match that beautiful red lipgloss you always wear. I brought shoes for you too. We will have to be careful not to start some wars when we go out looking so great together. I thought we can wear these at tomorrow’s event! Her eyes held the kind of inspired ideas mischievousness encourages.

Mojo closed her mouth. She didn’t realize it had dropped to the floor. She returned Gaia’s wicked grin. We are going to be responsible for babies being born when we wear these out in public. What better way to discourage war then by eliciting lust and playfully wild sex? She held the dress to her slim dancer’s waist. Her grin deepened as she looked back at Gaia. I’ll try to dance in this. There doesn’t appear to be much room to move without revealing more than I usually do. They both dissolved into giggles.

Mojo twirled in place and considered the centennial blessing ceremony Gaia had started when the universe was first created. Gaia was a loving mother and had given the gift of life to the majority of living beings in the universe. Crafting new blessings and reinforcing old ones was a joy to do.

Many deities helped once per century, holding massive parties in different locations. They defined ceremonial garb in many different ways and it was always fun to see what their friends decided to wear.

All the gods and goddesses would notice the dresses Gaia commissioned. Mojo was sure many would want similar ones made for them once they arrived wearing theirs. Wow! She didn’t usually wear anything so revealing, but she certainly did when Gaia had garments made just for her.

The little red barely-there dress seemed to float in place. It had one strap that held up the top and was designed to wrap around her neck leaving her back completely bare. There wasn’t much material to hide her generous breasts or her ample, firm ass. She wondered if there was enough material to cover her curvaceous body when she danced.

Mojo’s Latina curves and ivory skin would contrast with the dress perfectly. She thought about designing jewelry to wear with it. This blood-red shimmery ensemble was going to be her new favorite thing to wear, she already knew it.

Before Gaia could finish unpacking, they heard the rest of her luggage being delivered in a golf cart rumbling down the wooden pier. Mojo shifted her focus to their guest. We have a visitor and I believe they are delivering the rest of your luggage. Let’s go see! She gracefully jumped up.

Mojo laughed, Grab a towel, so we can swim before you finish unpacking because it’s almost time for sunset. She conjured her own towel on her way out of Gaia’s room.

    CHAPTER 3

Gaia grabbed a towel and an unmarked box from her travel bag before following Mojo to the entryway. Sure enough, her luggage was being delivered. It was the same friendly human who they knew from past visits named Adil. He was Maldivian, and he always doted on those two whenever they stayed on his island. He often told them he was happy to share his island with them.

Gaia bounced towards Adil and embraced him with warmth and friendship as he got out of the vehicle. She gave him the box, and before he could say anything she trilled, It is wonderful to see you again Adil! That is for you and your lovely wife to enjoy. How have you been? She looked him up and down approvingly. She waited for his response with an avid interest.

Adil looked a little mesmerized and humbled by her gift. These two special ladies were his favorite repeat tourists. He loved taking care of them when they visited his islands. He looked down at the box. It felt heavy in his hands for its size. A grin blossomed on his kind face. Thank you for thinking of me and my family. I’m sure we will love this. We have loved all your gifts. He put the box on the seat of his golf cart and radiated joy at both his favorite guests. Are you ready to have the best time of your lives? He enthusiastically hugged Gaia.

Gaia hugged him back, and Mojo hugged them both. Gaia grinned as she exclaimed, We always do every time we come here and are lucky enough to spend some time with you. They flanked Adil and fussed over him warmly.

Adil’s smile got wider and he laughed. These two troublemakers almost always attended his wife’s birthday celebration. He considered them family. He tried to sound serious, This coming Friday evening we are celebrating my wife’s fifty-fifth birthday. We would be honored if you came to celebrate with us. He knew they would, as they did almost every year for the past few decades.

Mojo answered for them immediately, We wouldn’t miss it for anything. What time shall we show up? She hooked her arm through his and waited expectantly.

Adil joyfully responded, 4:00PM sharp. Bring your appetites and be ready to share your latest adventures with us. He placed his free hand over Mojo’s arm and grinned at his favorite ladies.

Gaia and Mojo laughed. Gaia chortled, We definitely will. Gaia glanced at the golf cart and flashed a look of thanks to Adil for bringing her things right to their bungalow.

Mojo gently released Adil and went around to the back of the golf cart. She started removing Gaia’s bags. They were made from a heavy waterproof canvas with durable corded straps designed for every climate, but they didn’t have any designer labels on them. The bag Mojo removed was heavy, but it had wheels. She started wheeling it inside their bungalow. Gaia grabbed another bag and followed her. Adil, chidingly protesting their actions, grabbed the remaining two bags and followed them inside.

Gaia looked at Adil and begged, Please, you must stay and tell us all about your life since we last saw you. She looked beseechingly at him and her look managed to convey she wouldn’t take no for an answer.

Mojo smiled at Adil as he glanced at her before he returned his attention to Gaia. He sputtered, Gaia, I have to get back to work. I would love to catch up soon. He apologetically began to retreat. He grinned, knowing Gaia wouldn’t be easily persuaded.

Mojo corralled Adil to a couch. Gaia grabbed his hands and sat down on the couch, pulling him down too. Gaia pleaded, Please Adil? Just a few minutes? I’ve missed you so much. I want to know how you are. Gaia noticed Adil’s conceding look and gave him a smile full of gratitude.

Adil knew he wouldn’t get away. He laughed and allowed himself to be pulled down on the couch with his favorite troublemakers sitting on either side of him. He was filled with the warmth of affection for these two thoughtful, loving, kind women who took an active interest in him and his family.

He huffed in mock defeat, Okay, I’d love to. Where to start? Last I saw you, my youngest daughter gave us news she is pregnant! We are eagerly awaiting our third grandchild. Adil had to pause because Gaia’s excitement filled the room.

Gaia hugged Adil and exclaimed, Oh! Your third grandchild! Congratulations Adil! What an enormous blessing!

Adil smiled with pure joy and emphatically returned Gaia’s hug. He grinned, Everyone in my family is healthy! My oldest two children will be traveling for their new jobs. Adil’s eyes shone with a father’s love, and his excitement was infectious. My oldest will be working in Qatar doing construction this year and my second child will be working in Greece on an olive farm. My youngest daughter will be moving one block away from us, so we can spend time with her and help her when her baby arrives this coming winter. Adil’s eyes were filled with joyful anticipation for his third grandchild.

Gaia and Mojo were overjoyed for Adil. Gaia practically shouted, Your family is thriving and I love how you instill a spirit of adventure in all your children. What wonderful news!

Adil agreed, Life is sweet on these islands. My children must travel to see the world for themselves. My wife and I believe they will return home eventually. We hope so, because we want to watch all our grandchildren blossom as they grow. The Maldives are one of the best places to live, in my opinion. He thoughtfully paused for a few short seconds.

Mojo and Gaia peppered him with questions about his older two children. Soon, the conversation shifted to his lovely wife.

Adil’s joy and gratitude were clear in his tone, My wife picked up a new hobby and will be selling her coconut shell cups and bowls alongside her usual flavored ice. Tourists love them and she is happy making them. I could not be happier and feel so blessed to be able to enjoy watching my family thrive. They make me so proud! Adil was bursting with happiness.

Gaia agreed, One of the main reasons we keep coming back is to visit with you and your family She grinned at him.

Adil returned her grin, We are beyond thrilled to welcome my third grandchild soon! All is well and will continue to be. He smiled at both his favorites ladies and gave their hands a friendly squeeze. He looked at Gaia and gushed, Mojo gave me her update when she arrived. I’m glad to know she is also well. How are you Gaia? He looked at her with a gleeful anticipation shining in his eyes.

Gaia’s was thrilled to share her current activities. She was passionately animated as she spoke with enthusiasm, "I’m very well and just
