Villains are not born. They are created by their reactions to circumstances. Well, except for that one guy in your science class, he might have been born a villain. Heroes are created just like villains. In every one of us resides a villain and a hero.
Bad things happen to all of us. Even the rich. Even the poor. Even the in-betweens. Even the Christians, the Buddhist, the Agnostics. All of us. Maybe you go to church and believe that if you are righteous bad things will never happen to you. This is a tool the devil uses to get you to be a villain. Or worse, to be someone who sits back and does nothing. Those who do nothing are villains too, they just don’t know it.
Most times, when bad things happen you have a lot more choices than you might think. Sometimes you may only have three choices. Sometimes you have a million. During those times you can choose to turn against everyone and become a villain. You can choose to turn it into something good and become a hero. You can internalize it and bottle everything up until you explode, making yourself a villain. Or, you can do what most of us do, and do nothing.
I think you all know that I am a villain. Or, at least I was once upon a time. You have been told that it is the hero who tells the story and that is why you never know what makes a villain go evil
. This is incorrect.
The one who tells the story is the one who has the money, or the one who is most popular. That person makes themselves a hero. My younger brother Triton and my niece, Ariel were not heroes. At least not in the tale you know. Ariel was a hero in other stories. Unfortunately she cannot tell her own stories as that would be self-serving. I am getting ahead of myself. I like to do
