About this ebook
Kiernan Sullivan has a secret: in addition to being a great dad, husband, and private investigator, he also likes to dress up in drag. It's only a passing fancy -- nothing permanent, and certainly not anything to share with his family -- but it's still something he likes to do. And when he investigates cases, a disguise can go a long way.
Kiernan meets his greatest challenge when the person selling the drum kit he was going to get for his son turns out to be a violent predator. Caught off-guard and completely made-up from head to toe, Kiernan is in trouble. But more than that, so is his family. Will Kiernan escape and save those he loves? Or will he -- like his secret life -- remain hidden?

The Last Trace
By Eve Morton
Kieran Sullivan didn’t want Jamie to play the drums—let alone be in a band—which was why he resisted Natasha’s insistence that they could get him a set for so long. Their son’s birthday passed in November, then Christmas the following month, and with still no drums in their garage. Meanwhile, the fifteen-year-old’s blinding insistence continued that yes, this was not a phase, and yes, this was how he wanted to live his life, and Natasha at the very least, started to feel guilty.
He’s just like you, you know,
she said one morning over breakfast. Jamie had been driven to school by his sister, Mona, who was seventeen and passed the most recent test to obtain her license. Natasha didn’t have to leave for work until eleven, for a late meeting before a trial, and Kieran was home alone. As usual.
He stood from the table and started to do the dishes. Over the sound of running water, Natasha sighed.
You know we have a dishwasher, right?
I do. But I like to do things for myself.
This is exactly what I mean, Kieran,
she insisted again. Jamie is just like you. He wants those drums. And if we keep saying no, he’s going to find a way to get them.
Not from us.
Exactly. So why not just let him have them now?
Because that’s a very bad lesson to give a child. Whine enough, and you get what you want.
He’s not whining. I am at this point.
I know.
Natasha huffed. Though Kieran’s back was still turned, and he was focused on the soapy water and bubbles, he knew that Natasha would chew on her bottom lip, most likely thinking about all the things that people told her about marrying a
