Few cultures may legitimately claim to have had a part in the founding of civilization. One such civilization was ancient Sumer, which was established in the place known as Mesopotamia between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. Due to their enthusiasm for innovation, the Sumerians were credited with creating the first written language.
The Sumerians advanced the art of writing to a highly sophisticated level, even if they may have borrowed some ideas from earlier settlers. The cuneiform, one of the oldest writing systems in history, rose to prominence in the ancient Near East as the most crucial method of writing. Initially intended for record-keeping, the literature evolved into the creation of significant literary works such as mythologies and epics.
Myths were based on traditional tales. Some have a historical basis, while others are wholly made up. However, myths were more than just stories; they have deeper meanings in ancient
