    INTRODUCTION

    I have found myself thinking about mindset a lot this quarter.

    We all go through seasons in our lives. In my case, I have had seasons of immense productivity, seasons of rest and relaxation, seasons of trials and tribulations, and seasons of self-unawareness and self-awareness.

    I find that I never quite know what the next season will be or exactly when it will spring into my consciousness. As self-aware as I try to be, I usually don't pick up that a season has changed until several weeks or months after it happens. Then, I begin introspection to figure out what the change was, why it happened, and why it is potentially meaningful for me at this time in my life.

    I shared in previous volumes that the past year has been challenging for me. It hasn't been the most productive season in my life, though it has been minimally productive. While I didn't stop writing altogether, I had to step away for a while and accept reduced output for most of the year. Fortunately, the worst of the personal issues appear to be behind me.

    Something I learned during this year is that I don't handle stress well. At least, not as well as I should. I'm the sort of person who always has to be doing something and moving toward a goal. At times, I have saddled myself with too many responsibilities. For this reason, I have pulled back on my responsibilities so I can focus on the things that matter. This proved to be a
