I have had a very interesting upbringing starting with growing up in Hollywood, CA. Never shy, I learned that if you are not willing to try something new you may let life simply pass you by. I love meeting people from all walks of life and these experiences inspire me on a daily basis. As a true friend once pointed out "You are never a complete waste, you can always be used as a bad example". So what's the worst that can happen?

    The Last Man On Earth

    ~ Meet Tasha ~

Y ou have to be fucking kidding me! Tasha screamed as she threw the remains of her large, half-caf, soy milk, extra syrup, caramel, mocha, latte across the room.

Sabastian, Tasha’s fabulous assistant watched as she became enraged as the remaining goo from the cup began slide slowly down the wall. Marcus was sure that both of them were glad they didn’t have to clean up after her.

She began screaming loudly and pacing around the room it was hard to understand her.

Bastion! Are you listening to me? Tasha screamed stamping her feet. Of course lover Sabastian replied tilting his head and smiling. Marcus was again, much to his surprise, impressed with the way that Sabastian maintained his apparent patience with Tasha, very few people seemed to think these kinds of tirades were cute.

They can’t be serious! Do they know who I am? So they know there is NO show without me? I could just quit. What the hell would they do then? Tell me… TELL ME!

Marcus couldn’t help but think, as he sat with Tasha, watching yet another emotional outrage, the she is one of the world’s most, childish, spoiled, selfish people he has ever known.

She wasn’t born to a rich or famous family. She wasn’t royalty. She wasn’t rich and famous for any skill or ability she possessed. She was famous for just being born.

You might be wondering what amazing physical or mental ability Tasha possessed to be able to so famous for just being herself? It was nothing as glamorous as all of that.

    ~ History Lesson ~

In order to fully understand how someone like Tasha could become an instant celebrity at birth, you would most likely need a clearer understanding on why her gift were considered so amazing.

In the year 1872 there was an important discovery made by the research lab at the Institute of Human Evolution (IHE for short). Although the significance wasn’t realized until a few years later. This discovery completely changed society was a whole.

In the past everyone was allowed to simply ‘choose’ the person they wanted to

marry or have children with. This lead to an increased number of birth defects, and degenerative hereditary diseases. Coupled with having multiple sexual partners also allowed for the spread of multiple debilitating diseases.

In an effort to positively affect the health of the world, studies began at the IHE, and it was found that most issues began on a genetic level. More specifically, the mingling of different genepools.

As the study continued, it was found that most people were only genetically compatible with a very small number of others worldwide. That even the slightest incorrect combination of genes could lead generations later to cataclysmic health disasters for that family tree.

By the year 1902 a very controversial decision had been made.

Every human was to submit to a gene test.

This undertaking was massive, however, in the end the evidence was undeniable. If something didn’t change the health of the entire planet was in jeopardy.

Not only was the health an issue, the financial stability of economy’s forced to sustain the burden of an ever increasing population of people with an avoidable illness was a heavy consideration by most governments.

When the program was first initiated, couples that wanted to marry would submit to gene testing in order to receive a marriage license. Everyone was denied.

The chance that a person would meet someone they were compatible with was about one in four-million. So the odds were never in their favor. Documentation indicated some people had tried over a hundred times with hundreds of potential spouses. This, of course, was not a workable solution.

In order to solve the problem, it was decided that every person would be tested at birth, the results tabulated and there would be a system. The candidates to be their match would be introduced to them starting on the person’s eighteenth birthday.

If one was younger than the other then the person would be informed they would have to wait, no more than two years, to meet their first candidate.

Each candidate, after the first would be a little less genetically compatible than the last one. Although, still a match the first candidate was always the best and why most people chose their first match.

Keep in mind that the matching was done on a genetic level. This meant that attraction was not the key factor a relationship and eventual pairing was determined by.

Since not all people had the same number of choices, and both had to decide, it changed the dynamics of most courtships.

Deciding on a mate could even be done by a lengthy interview process, several companies had even designed a Know Your Mate kit with everything you needed to know to ensure you were making the right choice.

Although, some protest of this new method was muttered, it soon fizzled when divorce rates plummeted to less than 3% from over 35%. The general health of the children of the new generation were found to become less sick and disease became almost unheard of. The movement was viewed more as a saving grace then control by the government.

Most people were born with two to five people to choose from. Again, these are those people you can choose to marry and/or have children with.

The highest number that had been on record had been six. This number was granted to a boy named Marcus Ashton Fletcher. He had been a minor celebrity and when he chose the to stay with the first choice, which he had, the media quickly lost interest.

    ~ Born Famous ~

What did this have to do with little Natasha Tanner?

Tasha is the only person who had been born with eleven potential mates to choose from.

When her parents had received the notification of their child’s enormous number of potential mates, the Tanner’s sent a query to Bureau of Human Sustainability (BHS) to ensure they were reading the information correctly.

That and of course posting the news on every social media outfit they could find.

At first they may have been genuinely excited about this amazing news. That however, soon turned into a way to profit.

The news of such an extraordinary number went viral immediately. The moment BHS confirmed the news, little Natasha, was suddenly a celebrity.

She was in ads for diapers, then clothing, then any product you could imagine. The public couldn’t get enough of her.

Like most child stars Natasha eventually fell into the trap of too much money and freedom and not enough parenting. This was at age six.

This is when Marcus was brought in to be her manager and guardian. At the time he had been working with another celebrity of sorts that had similar talent to little Natasha.

Christian had been born approximately three months after little Natasha and he had eight potential mates. This news was big as well, although not as big as hers.

However, the BHS began to wonder if this had meant a turn in general quantity that people could expect to see on a go forward. This wasn’t the case.

However, having a boy that was lucky as well afforded rival companies to those that snatched up Natasha to actually compete. It created a sort of rivalry. Almost anyone could tell you who these two somewhat ordinary looking children were, and most had a favorite.

Marcus had worked with Christian and had found it almost unbearable. He couldn’t believe a child so young could be that rotten.

He chose to work with Natasha assuming the sweet child he witnessed on talk show after talk show just needed someone to look out for her. He was wrong. It was simply due to the ever increasing paycheck and notoriety that he continued the eighteen years of what amounted to a baby sitting gig.

Marcus of course now sat looking at his client knowing this ride
