    Chapter 1

    A Promise

    Back to the present…

Wait, so there’s a place that’s more advanced than us in terms of redstone creations? yells Sheldon. That is so awesome. Sister Soni, can we go to Vido?

Soni immediately shuts down his request, stating, No. Look at what you’re wearing. I’ll consider it only after you and your friends begin dressing in acceptable clothing. Until then, my answer will always be NO.

    Aww…

The villagers of Lekter finally depart from Vido and pass by Kape Town on their way to search for a snow biome. During their stay, they share their adventures with the townsfolk and even trade with each other.

Pero, the mayor of Kape Town, congratulates Derky, The newest mayor of Lekter. You don’t get to see the birth of a new mayor that much in your life.

Thank you, Derky responds. The sheer responsibility of being a mayor still hasn’t dawned on me yet, but no matter what, I’ll keep trying my best. For now, we’ll have to find ourselves a snow biome and rebuild our town.

We’d like to help, but unfortunately, all we have are treasure maps. Perhaps if we empty our crates, we might end up finding a real map. It’s unlikely, but it won’t hurt to try.

Oh, no need to worry about that. It’s all about the adventure. We can easily find the biome by following a map, but that would take away the fun of searching for it ourselves. If the adventure becomes too tough, that’s when we’ll finally use maps.

    Very well then.

The Town of Unluckies is as unlucky as ever. Over the past few days, all the townsfolk had gathered up and trained themselves for their upcoming battle against their mortal enemies. Let me hear your determination, demands Whitenose, standing in front of the villagers, ready for battle. It’s about time we finally take back our land from those disrespectful ANIMALS. Don’t you think so too?

The townsfolk roar their agreement, thrusting their fists into the air. With tears in their eyes, it is evident they had had enough. To them, this was far more important than the already ongoing war.

As Kad observes the Unluckies from afar, he asks a nearby villager, What’s going on over there?

Oh, they’re just bracing themselves to fight for the future of our town, the villager replies.

    Could it be… Illagers?

They don’t actually care about our town in the slightest. We’re already super poor, so even attempting to overtake this place might cost more than what they would gain from succeeding.

Looks like there are good sides to being unlucky, huh? Then may I ask who they are going to fight against?

Pigs, cows, and sheep near our port as well as the beach. Last night, they stole twenty of our boats and drifted across the sea. It’s all so absurd. Where do so many of them even come from?

That does sound like big trouble. Welp, we wish you good luck. I hope your town will be able to regain your luck through this battle.

While sorting through his treasure chest, Sheldon stumbles upon a very old and dirty map. He turns it over and sideways, not recognizing it. What are you doing here? asks Soni from the back. Are you up to no good again? Come on, these villagers are our friends. It’s not the time for mischiefs.

It’s not like that, Sheldon sighs as he shakes his head. I’m growing up, you know. After trading with the fellows from Lekter, I was just sorting my chests to make them tidier. We won’t stay poor and unlucky forever.

    Sure, sure.

By the way, sis, do you know this map? I cannot for the life of me remember seeing this.

Eww, that looks older than both of us. Whose house even is this? We don’t live here.

    Umm… uhh… umm… that’s a topic for later.

Pyen passes by them while walking through the street. Intrigued, he decides to check what they are doing. Hey, kids, he greets as he waves his hand, What’s up? Did you see Irty? I haven’t seen her since coming here. She must be around somewhere.

Soni replies, Oh, I didn’t see her. Also, while my little brother may be a kid, I am not one. At least not anymore, since last year.

Wow, a big girl, huh? Either way, this house looks like it’s about to fall down any moment. I don’t think it’s safe for you and your friends to live here.

No need to worry. This isn’t where we live. That little thief over there was just caught tinkering with things that are not his, so I was about to scold him real good.

Sheldon yells, Sis! I think this is a map of a very big island or something. Look, it’s surrounded by huge bodies of water. It probably has tons of treasures.

Pyen grabs the map and examines it. After a while, he notes, If we judge it by the way it’s recorded, then the island is not just surrounded by huge bodies of water, it is actually deep underwater itself.

So, a sunken island? I wonder what can cause something like that.

Perhaps it’s an underwater structure? I don’t know why anyone would build something this big in the ocean, so I can’t really tell for sure. It is very old, after all.

Soni chuckles, We can grab a boat and look for it ourselves, but I doubt we’ll see any trace of it soon. Did you see our ‘warriors’ by the port? With gears like that, they’re sure to get beaten up, and their boats get taken.

Ooh, you would actually try to find this structure if it was possible?

For sure. There’s nothing worth noting in this whole biome, so I’d go for any other type of adventure right now. No matter what happens, it’ll still be more interesting than spending days doing nothing here.

Sheldon looks at her sister with a worrisome face and thinks for a while. I’m sure you’ll be able to go on the adventure of your life one day. Pyen laughs, Never stop dreaming. There’s literally a City of Dreams for villagers like us. You don’t know what will happen. Anyhow, I’m out. We’ll make sure to pay a visit to this place after rebuilding our town.

Pyen then exits the house and walks away. Sheldon runs after him immediately, and after getting farther from his sister, he asks Pyen, Sir, may I request something? It’s very important to me.

Go ahead, let me hear about it, Pyen encouraged him.

Well… can you take my sister along for your journey?

    W-what?

"I know it may sound ridiculous, but please, take her with you. You know, ever since she parted ways from us before meeting your group, I had a feeling she wasn’t satisfied with living like this. She’s spent her whole life looking after my friends and me, so we don’t want to trouble her anymore. We want her to live her life the way she wants.
