About this ebook

I like music and singing, but am not talented. I need a musician to create melodies to accompany the words on these pages. These writings are an expression of a wide variety of thoughts to share with others. Enjoy the flow of words for reflecton, insight, and merriment.

Lyrics, Poems, Thoughts, Rhymes - Sam Kearney, Jr.

    3/1/06

My family pretends, but isn’t a family

Grandma was harsh and never accepted me

They divorce and remarry, and don’t love

My so-called family needs blessings from above

Our parents would argue and never talk

They used to yell and then daddy would walk

My aunts, uncles, cousins were distant and scattered

Grandpa was never around, we just didn’t matter

Mom was a drinker and always sad

Dad was often around, but always mad

A family should be happy and care for each other

All us kids ever wanted was a genuine loving mother

    Refrain:

My wife’s (husband’s) family is good enough for me

My wife’s family treats me right

My wife’s family is good enough for me

My wife’s family, they don’t fight

    3/4/06 (country, comical)

When we finished high school, we figured what we would do, some of my friends went to work, some went to school

My best buddy Bobby, went off to university, my ex-girlfriend Cindy went to college, maybe to escape me

I had no lofty plans, I wanted money, cars, and babes, I’d dance, drink, and party, all to plenty of raves

After college Bobby wasn’t done, he had only just begun

Off to med school he flew, at least four more years of school

Cindy sought success and had ambition, she had a clear plan on her MBA mission

I worked with wood, cabinets, furniture and such, bought a house and truck, didn’t want much

When Bobby graduated, I was there, he’d soon be rich and I didn’t care

He lost his twenties, moved to the city for a new start, our friendship would soon fall apart

When Cindy graduated, I of course, was there, she’d soon be rich, what did I care

My ex-girl was hired on Wall St, I had a hunch we’d never again meet

I chose my life and lived it, no regrets they say, music, babes, and dancing till my very last day

    Refrain:

Sometimes I’d visit Bobby, he lived in the dorm Smith Hall

Sometimes I’d visit Cindy, she lived in Johnson Hall

Sometimes we partied at my place, we called it Alca Hall

    3/10/06

Trucks hit the highway, find a cheap motel, first class is now boarding, then to a five-star hotel

Bus departs soon, hope the trip is good, exit number 29, cruise to fast food

She called, but I had to put her on hold, I try so hard, but
