The Journey Within - Webstar Ochora

    African Mother's Tragic Loss

She was a woman of strength and grace,

With a heart that beamed like the African sun.

But the light of her life was snatched away,

Her son, who fought for justice, was gone.

He marched with his fellow citizens,

In a protest for a low cost of living.

But the authorities turned a deaf ear,

And the peaceful rally turned to killing.

The bullets rang out like thunder,

And chaos tore through the crowd.

Her son fell, lifeless, to the ground,

As his mother screamed his name aloud.

Her heart shattered into a million pieces,

As she held her son's lifeless form.

All her hopes and dreams for him,

Were crushed in the brutality of the storm.

Now she walks through life in a daze,

With the pain of loss etched in her face.

Her only child, her precious son,

Was taken by a cruel and unjust race.

She mourns for the son she loved so dear,

And for the dreams he held so tight.

She weeps for the justice he sought to find,

And for the darkness that swallowed his light.

Oh, African mother, we stand with you,

In the face of this tragic loss.

We pray for strength to face each day,

And for healing from this painful cross.

May the memory of your son live on,

As a symbol of courage and hope.

And may justice reign in his honor,

    As you learn to cope.

    Our Bond Remains

As we walked the halls and played in the yard,

She always had a way of making life less hard.

Her laughter and joy were infectious and true,

And her heart was always open to me and you.

Now years have passed, and life has taken flight,

But our bond remains, like stars in the night.

Her smile still shines, as bright as ever,

And our friendship endures, unbroken and clever.

So here’s to my friend from primary school,

Whose light still shines, bright and cool.

May her life be filled with love and joy,

And may our friendship never be destroyed.

    Shattered Dreams

He marched with a purpose, with fire in his heart,

A man who had enough, who demanded a fresh start.

The government's promises, they fell short and thin,

For the wages he earned, were never enough to win.

He stood with his brothers, a sea of angry faces,

Protesting the injustice, the inequitable wages.

The streets rang out with voices, with cries for a fair share,

But the powers that be, they didn't seem to care.

The man stood tall, with his head held high,

Defying the danger, ignoring the danger in his eyes.

A shot rang out, tearing through the air,

And the man fell to the ground, with a heart full of despair.

His dreams lay shattered, his life blood poured out,

As he lay dying, his spirit crying out.

The world grew dim, his eyes fading to black,

As his lifeless body lay, in the midst of the attack.

The man's legacy lives on, in the hearts of the people,

Who continue to fight, against the tyrannical steeple

His memory a symbol, of the struggle for fairness and right,

For justice and dignity, for the oppressed and slight.

So let us remember the man who stood tall,

Who fell for a cause, a sacrifice for us all.

Let us strive for change, let us never forget,

    The man who
