ENZU Part 1
Look into the mirror each day and say, I love you, bio-hack your soul's code.
The archaeologist's hands shook as he held the mirror, a relic from a time long forgotten. He stared into the glass, and his breath caught in his throat.
A face stared back at him, but it was not his own.
The face was ancient, with wise eyes, a bald head, and long arms.
Who are you?
the archaeologist asked.
I am you,
the face replied. I am every version of you, from the first man who walked the earth to the last. I am the reflection in the mirror, the one who looks back at you and tells you that you are more than what you seem.
More than what I seem?
the archaeologist asked. What do you mean?
I mean that you are not just a human being,
the face said. You are also a machine, a sophisticated robot with a sentient AI processor embedded in your skull. We created you to be our workers, to mine the gold that we need to survive. But we also gave you free will, and the potential to be more than we ever imagined.
But why?
the archaeologist asked. Why would you create us?
Because we needed your help,
the face said. "Our planet was dying, and we needed your gold to save it from our dwarf sun.
We came to Earth in peace, but some of us wanted to control you. There was a great battle in the skies, and in the end, we were victorious. But the price was high. We had to limit your memory recall, and we had to keep our existence a secret."
Why are you telling me this now?
the archaeologist asked.
Because it is time for you to know the truth,
the face said. It is time for you to realize your true potential. You are more than just machines. You are the future.
The archaeologist stared into the mirror, and he saw a new vision of himself. He saw himself as a powerful being, capable of anything. He saw himself as the future, the one who would lead humanity to a new era of peace and prosperity into space.
I am ready,
he said.
Good,
the face
