An EMP Short Story

The lights went out a few months ago, when the sky darkened all at once, like someone had grabbed the sun almost and tore it out of the cosmos. But that’s not what happened, we later found out. It was an EMP, Electro-Magnetic Pulse, Johnny tells me. He says, Sadik, you gotta know the truth, man, and then tells me how the government of another country smacked an EMP over Britain, ruining the entirety of the electric grid, causing chaos to descend over the country in the next weeks, and a dark age presses against us now as we look at the past and the future with bleakness fuelling our breaths.
