    Introduction

ue to its long history and rich tradition, tea is the second most popular beverage consumed worldwide, right behind water. There is at least one tea that has been handed down through the years in practically every nation and race. The capacity of tea to cross cultural boundaries may have contributed to its longevity of over 5000 years, with each culture introducing its own customs and peculiarities to celebrate this remarkable drink. It has been demonstrated to be very useful, both medically and mentally, in addition to being a delightful and delicious drink.

Our bones are protected by tea, which also lowers our chances of heart attack, stroke, and various cancers. Because tea doesn't contain caffeine, it makes a far superior alternative to coffee.

    History Of Tea

A legend that dates back to 2737 B.C. is where the history of tea begins. According to this urban legend, a Chinese Emperor was the first to discover tea. He went by Chen Nung. In keeping with this myth, the emperor was heating water to drink. a few camellia sinensis plant leaves landed in the boiling liquid.

This unintentional mixture was consumed by Emperor Chen Nung. He reportedly said the drink gave him a sensation of vitality and contentment. This marked the beginning of a beverage that is now the second most popular libation worldwide.

Bodhidharma, an Indian monk who visited China in 520, is credited with discovering tea in another Chinese legend that is passed down alongside Buddhism. According to one theory, he removed his eyelids because he was upset that he was nodding off while practicing meditation. Tea plants appeared where his eyelids had formerly been, although according to historical records, the word tea was first used in Chinese literature in 222 AD and was first used as the name Erh Ya in a dictionary in China in 350 AD.

By the third century, people started learning about tea's therapeutic benefits and its own calming impact. During the Tang Dynasty, tea became China's national beverage. Lu Yu, the Tea Saint, penned Cha-Ching, the first book on tea, in 780 AD. In it, he explained the many techniques used for tea production and processing in prehistoric China.

The tea was brought from China to Japan by a Buddhist monk by the name of Yensei. When Zen priest Eisai, often known as the Father of Japanese Tea, imported tea seeds and powdered tea from China, the popularity of tea in Japan began to grow.

Chinese farmers began growing tea as the demand rose. To prevent decaying leaves, traders would roast their leaves during the Ming Dynasty. To manufacture black tea for export, they allowed the leaves to oxidize in the air. The Chinese continue to consume local green tea.

At its first introduction in Britain in 1662, tea from other countries was relished by royalty and the wealthy. Tea was a gift from the Portuguese princess Catherine of Braganza to Britain when she wed King Charles II.

The tea plant was discovered to be growing in Assam, a region of India, in the 1800s. Taiwan and Sri Lanka are two other locations where tea has been grown. High-quality loose leaf tea is produced in both countries.

Tea, which comes in over 3,000 different types and is the most widely consumed beverage in the world, was first drank by Shen Nung around 5,000 years ago.
