About Me

Hello, I'm Dave Thompson.

You may be new to my books. I'm an Amazon best-selling author in the field of the occult and mystical studies. You may know me for my popular series, High Magik Studies, which serves as a crucial guide for anyone interested in ceremonial magick. I also have a series on Roman/Greco magik, and a series on Norse magik is planned. My writing extends beyond occult literature to adult fantasy, most notably through my series, The Furies.

My journey into High Magick began in the 1970s, and I've spent decades rigorously studying and practicing this art. I took a brief break to channel my magickal skills into a successful photography career. That venture led me to the bustling art scene of Los Angeles, where I worked as a photographer for various high-profile magazines.

In 2018, I made the decision to democratize High Magick by releasing a three-part instructional course. My unique teaching approach has made this esoteric art accessible to thousands of students worldwide, cultivating a new generation of magicians who understand its complexities.

But my talents are not confined to this realm alone. I've been a recognized medium and psychic since the rise of the psychic hotline era. I've offered psychic consultations and readings through various platforms, providing spiritual insights to many seeking answers.

I also dabble in screenwriting and production management. My screenplay, Trouble Enough, was recognized as one of the Top Ten Comedies by the Screen Arts Foundation for Screenwriters in 2002. Whether I'm in LA or Austin, my extensive industry knowledge makes me a jack-of-all-trades in the entertainment world.

My spiritual journey began at the age of 13 when I had my first supernatural encounter. It was with a high-level spirit guide in my grandmother's home, an experience that both terrified and fascinated me. This led me to explore various spiritual disciplines, including the Akashic records and past and parallel lives. Completing a course in hypnosis induction under Richard Sutphen has only enriched my spiritual toolkit.

My life story is not just about my own transformative journey, but also serves as a guiding light for others on their own spiritual quests.

My own journey to the Akashic records began in the early 2000s. It was shortly after learning to meditate and contact my guides. In a vivid dream, I was taken to a huge building, with a classic dome as the roof, marble fluted columns at the top of a huge set of steps leading to the main doors. A young man escorted me and introduced himself as Thoth/Hermes.

Taking my hand, he escorted me inside the building with a friendly smile. The sight before me was awe-inspiring as I gazed upon thousands of rows of bookshelves. The scenery was breathtaking, with the land stretching out endlessly before me, as far as I could see. He took me to a separate room, and inside this room was a long table. On this table, he told me was my current recording of my life thus far. 

It wasn’t a scroll or heavy book. It was a clear block, like crystal, at least twenty feet long (7 meters). Inside looked like the traces of a bullet, leaving several silvery paths. Along the main path were several side paths, but they eventually wound around and back to the center.

He explained the large path line was the path of my current lifetime. The smaller threads were my PLANNED paths, and notice how I deviated and wandered around, instead of sticking to my chosen path.

He explained how we all have free will, and can freely choose to go off path. There will always be a tug back to the planned path, but no real punishment for this, as this is all part human spirits in our learning during life. Although, we’ll often feel lost if we are off the path.

It’s a common feeling with all humans, once off the chosen path. He further explained how this was all planned by ME. All so-called punishments for not staying on path were done by ourselves, humans tend to beat up themselves for notions we’ve strayed.

He then kinda dropped a bomb on me. I was tasked now to assist others in waking up. I had to teach others to take control, get back to path, using my unique gifts.

My next question was - Wooo, okay, why me?

Hermes just grinned.

How to Think About It: The Metaphor of Light

You can think of the Akashic Records as light—both particle and wave. When focused upon, they solidify into 'particles'—concrete bits of knowledge or guidance. Left alone, they remain a 'wave,' an unmanifested potential of what you might discover. Like the famous double-slit experiment in quantum physics, your intent collapses the wave into particles, making abstract wisdom palpable. I don’t plan to bore you with a discussion of quantum physics, although I took classes in this during my college years, a lot has changed. It’s only gotten weirder. And if any of my old professors are still alive, they’d be tracking me down, armed with pitchforks for my writing such a book as this!

Not everyone can saunter into the Pentagon and ask for state secrets. Similarly, there are protocols for entering this ethereal domain. Your heart's purity and intent are your security clearance. You can't pry into someone else's Records without explicit soul-level permission, making it a sacrosanct, and deeply ethical, undertaking. It's a spiritual equivalent of your fingerprint or retina scan, granting access only when there's a harmonic match.
