Tidal Troubles

AZURE BAY, ONCE the gem of the coastline, now reflected the disturbance in its name. The bay, a mirror to the sky, often shimmered in a shade of soft blue under the golden touch of the sun. But today, it roiled in tempestuous grays and foamy whites. Waves surged with more ferocity, crashing against the cliffs and spewing mist into the air, as if the ocean itself was in uproar.

The seaside town that nestled by its edge looked equally perturbed. The market that once buzzed with laughter and banter now echoed with hurried footsteps, hushed whispers, and worried glances. Fishermen pulled their boats further inland, wary of the unpredictable waters. Children, usually seen playing along the shore, were kept indoors, their innocent faces pressed against windows, eyes wide with a mixture of fear and curiosity.

Elara and Finn stood at the town's highest point, the legendary Lovers’ Lookout. From here, they had a clear view of the entire bay and the surrounding town.
