The Luna's Contract Desires - Deb Oguare

    CHAPTER 1

Utter bliss, euphoria, ecstasy, paradise, heaven, elation... Oh boy, it was everything. Before I get judged, I know all these words are just circles of repetitions of the same word, but how else do I describe how marvellous it was with him? How else do I describe my passionate desires?

Oh, how do I describe the pure ecstasy that I felt with him? It was a feeling that consumed me—a passion that burned so brightly that I thought my heart could burst through my chest.

Every moment with him was pure bliss, a taste of paradise that left me longing for more. In his arms, I was safest; I felt complete; I felt whole, and at that point, nothing else in the world mattered more than the sound of his heartbeat and the rising and falling of his hard, muscled chest. Nothing else mattered more than the two of us.

The way his cold hands felt against my skin, the way his soft kisses released an outburst of pleasure from my lips, the way he made me feel like I was the only woman in the universe. And in those moments of pure pleasure and euphoria, I knew that I was truly alive.

Time freezes still, and the world fades away as we become caught in each other's gaze and consumed by an insatiable passion. Every kiss, caress, and murmured phrase was pure enchantment, sparking a flame that grows hotter with each passing instant.

I felt a surge of sensation, a flash of ecstasy that left me gasping for air as my warmth was drowned out by the coldness of his body. It's the kind of pleasure that goes beyond the physical, the kind that connects with the spirit and transcends the body. The type that starts a fire that burns quicker and hotter than any flame and also makes you giggle in your pillow at 3 a.m.

Nalani, we've arrived. The car's engine roars one last time before coming to a stop.

Staring out the window, I heaved a deep breath with numerous thoughts running through my head. I need to let go of the past and let it remain behind me. Thinking about my hot ex isn't the best thing to do when I have my arranged fiancé in the building before me.

The door sprung open as my chauffeur, Cane, stretched out his arms to support me while I alighted from the car.

The cool night air brushed against my skin, causing a shiver to run down my spine. I glanced up at the grand entrance of the building, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. It was time to face my future head-on and leave the laughter-filled nights with my pillow behind.

    Are you nervous? He asked.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous, but at the same time, I couldn't let him know that I was scared of this arranged marriage. I must get married to the next Alpha of the Black Land Pack. It is what is best for the members of my pack, and as their future Alpha, I need to put them first.

No, I am the Alpha, I replied with my chin up, staring at the few steps I had to climb before opening the brown, elegant wooden door that would determine my fate and change my life forever.

You've got this! He encouraged me before driving the car off to the underground parking lot.

My pack, the Vault Pack, has been having some crises over the past few years because of a scandal that took place three years ago when the appointed CEO murdered an innocent high schooler in a hit-and-run case.

Since then, the pack has been struggling to regain its reputation and restore trust among its foreign investors. We've lost a lot of stock in our company and have been unable to solely revive it ourselves.

Different investors from packs across the world refused to invest in us despite the fact that we have branches in every country in the world as an airline company, Vault Space.

Recently, my family decided it was time we sought external aid, or else the company would be in ruins in no time and our pack would serve as prey to other packs who would want to extend their territory. In order to not let that happen, my father made a deal with the alpha of the Black Land pack.

A deal to fuse our companies together through me, the Black Land Pack, are the owners of most five-star hotels across the globe, and if our companies work hand in hand, Vault Space would find a way to bounce back through the upcoming summer vacation plan for people who love to travel during their only free time in a year.

Welcome, Miss Nalani. The Cullen family awaits you. The door attendant said, gently taking my hands into his as he led me through the door of the huge restaurant owned by the Cullen family.

With no sight of wolves around, it was no surprise that the Cullen family would have specifically reserved the entire restaurant for the meeting with me.

As I entered the building, I couldn't help but be in awe of its grandeur. The opulent decor and luxurious ambiance were a testament to the success and prestige of the Black Land Pack. It was clear that this merger would not only benefit Vault Space but also elevate our company's reputation to new heights in the industry.

As I walked further into the restaurant, the elegant decor and the aroma of delicious food filled the air, creating an atmosphere of luxury and exclusivity, but there was something else to it. A faint, familiar scent wafted through the air, triggering memories that I fought to bury for the success of my pack.

A scent that has always lingered in my mind for years, a scent that I have always yearned for. A scent that belonged to Heath, my ex. It can't be.

You must be Nalani. A woman walked up to me with excitement in her tone and a beaming smile that showed off her perfectly aligned white teeth.

Emilia, it's nice to finally meet you, I said with a smile as she pulled me into a short but warm embrace.

My son, Terran, and the rest of the family can't wait to see you. She smiled as she spoke, her arms intertwining with mine as she led me into the diner.

Meet your future family, Nalani, she said, gesturing at the table containing the Cullen family, but the moment I scanned through the faces of the men seated around the table, I froze.

My eyes widened in awe as my chest rose and fell in bafflement. I couldn't bring myself to control the fear that oozed out of my body the moment my eyes fell on the one person I could never forget. The one person whose image of his face can never leave my head and the one person I ponder over every night.

    It was him, Heath Cullen.

    CHAPTER 2

Soft music blares from the speaker, and I'm standing frozen at the sight before me. Those familiar eyes burned through every cell in my soul, igniting a whirlwind of emotions that I thought I had buried long ago. Memories, both beautiful and painful, flood my mind as I struggle to find the right words to say.

Boys, here she is! Emilia squealed with delight.

Wow, isn't she just the perfect Luna? Whom I perceived to be the alpha of the Black Land Pack, Black Cullen said with a light-hearted laugh escaping his lips.

All eyes were on me, yet I couldn't bring myself to say a word. I had practised my speech and thought of every single event that might take place and how I would handle it, but I never prepared myself for this shocking revelation right before me.

Never did I come to realise that the twin brother of my fiancé would turn out to be the man I couldn't bring myself to forget. He never spoke a word about his family to me.

Terran, come get your wife,' Emilia said, but Terran answered in silence as his eyes remained on me before diverting his gaze to the tablet on the table.

Not today, Terran; forget about work and get to know your bride-to-be, Black said, stretching his arms to seize the tablet in front of Terran, but Terran was quick to stop his father's hand from meeting his tablet.

I'll keep it, He coldly replied, his voice soft and low.

Don't be intimidated; he acts this way but can be the biggest baby when he warms up to you, Emilia said, after rolling her eyes at Terran. I wasn't bothered by Terran or his attitude; my whole system was focused and worried about Heath, who still remained silent with his blazing brown eyes staring into my soul.

Welcome to the family, Nalani. My heart skipped a thousand beats the moment his familiar, raspy voice called my name.

It's an honour to be in your presence tonight, I managed to say, swallowing the heavy lump of saliva down my throat and forcing a smile on my face.

May I use the powder room? I asked as beads of sweat trickled down my face. I need to ease myself out of this tension and gather my thoughts before joining the rest of the family.

Before Emilia could respond, Heath nodded silently, his eyes never leaving mine, as if he could sense my unease. I quickly excused myself and made my way to the powder room, hoping that a few moments alone would help calm my racing heart.

Isn't she so beautiful? I could hear Emilia's voice before walking away from the diner.

The moment my feet made it into the powder room, I locked the door behind me before crashing on the beige sofa in sight, heaving deep breaths to calm myself, but nothing seemed to be reducing the tension I felt in there. Why does he have to be here? I tried so hard to forget him and move on for the sake of my pack and family, so why does he have to be my fiancé's twin?

Heath, why? I yelled, running my hands through the silky strands of my brown hair in exasperation.

I was willing to deal with the formidable Terran by myself, but I never prepared myself to deal with Heath living under the same roof with me. I can't deny the sinful thoughts I still carry for him, no matter how hard I try. It would be close to impossible to live under the same roof as him.

The constant reminder of our past and the lingering attraction between us would only complicate matters further. It feels like a cruel twist of fate that he had to be my fiancé's twin, making it even harder to forget him and move on for the sake of my pack and family.

    knock knock

A sound came from the door. I tried to gather myself before leaving the room or letting anyone else see me in my current state, but whoever was behind the door was impatient, as the banging on the door only became more aggressive as the seconds passed.

Jeez, you couldn't wait a bit? I yelled, already prepared to unleash my anger on whoever was behind the door, knowing full well that it couldn't be Emilia, but there was no other female wolf in sight, so who could it be?

Just as I twisted the knobs on the door, I was hit with the scent I dreaded the most. How didn't I smell him earlier?

Do you hate me that much? He asked, standing tall in front of me with his huge frame covering my smaller frame. My heart raced in my chest, the familiar mix of fear and anger surging through my veins. I clenched my fists, struggling to maintain control over my emotions as I lifted my head towards his piercing eyes.

Why didn't you tell me you were the son of the Cullen family? I asked, growling through my clenched teeth.

    Does it matter?

Yes, it fucking does, you asshole! I yelled.

Am I the asshole now after you broke up with me for that stupid reason?

I had to do what was best for my pack, but why didn't you let me know? Why, Heath? Every ounce of worry in me was converting into the anger I now feel towards Heath.

Nalani, calm down, He warmly said.

Don't fucking tell me to calm down, you jerk; how am I supposed to live with you and my fiancé under the same roof?

Nalani, calm down, He repeated, his voice coming off as a threat.

I can't take any more of this nonsense! I yelled one more time, but before I could move past him, his powerful arm hauled me back into the bathroom, locking the door behind me.

You're not going anywhere, he growled in a low voice.

Everything was happening so fast, and before I could realise what was going on, the taste of his lips on mine intoxicated me into realms that I never knew existed. In that moment, all the anger and frustration seemed to melt away, replaced by a wave of desire and longing. It was as if our shared passion had momentarily overshadowed the chaos and uncertainty surrounding us.

    CHAPTER 3

I can't do this! I gasped, my chest heaving with exertion and fear. With every ounce of strength I possessed, I pushed the towering beast away from me, my weak knees propelling me towards the door. The adrenaline coursing through my veins fuelled my desperate escape.

Nalani, I could hear his voice calling after me, filled with a mix of concern and confusion. But I couldn't afford to look back, not now.

What have I done? Panic gripped my heart as I stumbled away, my mind racing with the weight of my actions. As long as my body desires Heath, it would be impossible for me to live under the same roof as him.

Nalani, I'm sorry, He begged, but my feet didn't stop to listen to him.

The reality of my vulnerability hit me like a tonne of bricks, and I realised that I needed to find a way to escape this terrifying situation before it was too late. The only way I can escape from this torment is to run from the Cullen family as far as my legs can take me. I can't marry Alpha Terran; there has to be another way to avoid the ruins of my pack.

Dear, are you okay? Emilia's voice broke through my frantic thoughts; her eyes were filled with genuine concern. I opened my mouth to speak, to find the words to convey the storm raging within me, but my voice failed me.

What happened? Black's concerned voice joined Emilia's, and the entire table was now fixated on my sudden shift in demeanour and the secrets I held tightly.

I... I tried to form coherent words, but they slipped through my trembling lips like fragile whispers carried away by the wind.

    I have... My stuttering voice
