Prologue The 1,000 Dark Hands

Around 1000 B.C. the first master of the 1,000 Dark Hands was born. Xan Chu honed his fighting skills, and became the deadliest fighter of the time. For over twenty years he entered death matches, and walked out hardly even challenged, but his opponents were never seen again.

After he became bored with death matches because he was never challenged, he began to build his own training grounds and castle where he trained others and made them train others, beginning the tradition of ten train ten, and letting it grow. From this fortress they would be hired to do all sorts of assassinations.

It has been lost through the ages of which powerful kingdom was responsible, but one of them was either worried about being attacked by them, or found out they were either responsible for a high level assassination, or was about to commit one, but they weren’t going to let it go on anymore, and decided to remove the threat once and for all. They marched in with all they had from huge war machines, archers, and soldiers. They totally destroyed the fortress and didn’t leave a single 1,000 Dark Hand agent alive on the premises.

However, one of the 1,000 Dark Hand agents had been out on a mission in a far away country. Chin Wu returned after successfully completing his mission, and saw the burning ruins of the fortress from afar, and wisely disappeared from the area. After much debating and heavy thinking, Chin Wu became the new head master of the 1,000 Dark Hands. This time though there would be some major changes to the organization.

It would become a secret organization. The members would be spread out throughout the entire known world. This time there would be no main fortress that could be easily destroyed. The members would be a secret, with each member only able to be identify with the 1,000 Dark Hands by a tattoo on their inside right ankle of a karate chopping hand inside of a dark circle. Each person in the organization would recruit and train ten people that they would be in charge of, but none of the members would know who any of the other members were, therefore if one fell, then the rest would be safe.

Since that time the organization has grown and spread, and it is unknown who has led or even been in the organization from then on. It is even unknown of what all assassinations that they were responsible for, especially since they could arrange it to look like death was from natural causes.

In recent years they are assumed to be only a rumor, but some small signs of their existence would pop up here and there. It was rare, but every now and then a dead body would appear with the 1,000 Dark Hands tattoo on the inside right ankle. At other times the symbol would be left somewhere as a message and warning.

In this time as well it seems like the organization has turned from simple assassinations into something even more sinister. Cryptic messages left on various websites talk of them wanting to bring a powerful master into our world. Who or what this is are unknown, with vague implications of that this master will clean up the world.

Today, however, for the first time since the original fortress was destroyed, the 1,000 Dark Hands were gathering with everyone they had. They were about to annihilate the worst threat to their cause, and they weren’t playing around this time.

Silently they appeared around the secret monastery one by one, dressed in all black ninja style shinobi shozoku outfits that totally covered them to hide who they truly were. The landscape surrounding the secret monastery slowly turned to black as the 1,000 Dark Hands took their places on this bright and sunny day. As they gathered, a monastery guard finally spotted them, and raised the alarm. As the alarm bells began to ring, the 1,000 Dark Hands hollered out a war cry, and began running at the monastery.

Shortly after battle ensued between the 1,000 Dark Hands and the secret monastery monks and warriors, but the 1,000 Dark Hands way out numbered the monastery defenders, and despite losing some of their numbers this was pretty much a one sided massacre.

One ancient master deep inside the monastery heard the alarms and the battle starting. Using a secret tunnel escape route, and having it collapse behind him, he managed to escape to a small motor boat, and escaped from the massacre unnoticed.

The rest of the monastery people were killed to the last person, and the 1,000 Dark Hands assumed they were all dead. They began in mass unison to gather up all the dead bodies into the center of the monastery, even their own. After all the bodies were in place, the Dark Hand began to collapse any structures in the surrounding area on top of the bodies. Then the 1,000 Dark Hands in unison began pounding that rubble deep into the Earth until it looked like the monastery never even existed, and it had always just been an open field.

Some of the local people on farm lands nearby reported a minor earthquake around this time, but most of those people didn’t know about the secret monastery, and the few who did wouldn’t tell anyone about it; not wanting
