About this ebook

God did not make this universe; the Sons of God (Christ) did. They had been given all the creative powers of the Father and wondered what it would be like to live in a universe of time and space that was separate from God and based upon duality rather than unity. The Course calls this a "mad idea".For the first time, Christ had an idea that was not shared by God and Christ knew it. He imagined what it would be like to be apart from his Creator. Forgetting to laugh about that silly idea, feeling guilty he experienced something new. Fear.

The first ego was created. The mind believes that it is completely on its own. God knows absolutely nothing about this since in nonduality there is only a constant unchangeable Love. Christ made this universe through the Big Bang, composed of billions of fragments to hide from the supposed wrath of a vengeful Father. The idea of duality could not be carried out in God's reality so we created a dream universe of illusion and entered it as if falling asleep and dreaming. The trouble was that we went into such a deep state of sleep that we had no awareness that we were dreaming so we accepted the universe of illusion as real and forgot that we had a true home in the Celestial Realm.

The Course says the story of Adam symbolized what happened to us Yet the Bible says that a deep sleep fell upon Adam, and nowhere is there a reference to his waking up. This created a barrier in communication between the Father and the Son so deep that God decided a correction was necessary. God's extension outward, though not His completeness, is blocked when the Sonship does not communicate with Him as one. So He thought, "My children are asleep and must be awakened." So God wanted to awaken His Sons.

But there was a major problem.

Whatever God places His attention on becomes as if it is real. If God entered the dream to redeem his Sons then the dream would become real to Him as well and he would also be trapped. There would be the risk of both the Father and the Son becoming eternally separated from their true home, eternally losing their identity.

To solve the problem and allow God to keep his attention focused on Reality He created a special agent, The Holy Spirit, that could be a bridge between the two states of existence. So God created the Holy Spirit, Who was God's answer to the separation. He has created the Holy Spirit as the Mediator between perception and knowledge. Without this link with God, perception would have replaced knowledge forever in your mind. With this link with God, the perception will become so changed and purified that it will lead to understanding. The Holy Spirit entered the collective sleeping mind of Christ. A first Christ was healed and woke up in Heaven. In other words, we are All split off as "part" of the One Christ Mind. The Course repeatedly asserts there can only be one Son. Unity can only create unity. Multiplicity cannot originate from Oneness.  If all His creations are His Sons, everyone must be an integral part of the whole Sonship. The Sonship in its oneness transcends the sum of its parts. Therefore the term Sons of God is used by Jesus for convenience in addressing his students as they believe they are.

On the other hand, the Son of God is the term used to denote who we truly are as Christ, the Identity of Oneness we shall awaken to after our dream of multiplicity is undone.

I'm 71 and was fortunate to be raised by a Father and Mother who were old enough to be my grandparents. The subject of God never came up but they taught me a prayer at a very young age, "Now I lay me down to sleep I pray to you Lord my soul to keep if I should die before I awake I pray oh Lord my soul to take." Thus a belief in a Higher Power was ingrained. My manuscripts are a compilation of over ten years of writing. If they instill in you a growing peace I'm more than satisfied. Bob

The Mind Of Illusion - Robert Hall

Over a decade ago, I started writing down thoughts in the memo pad of my cell phone, just a hobby of sorts. These thoughts have turned into 5 books. I’m published in numerous retail outlets, however over 4 million new book titles are written each year. So the odds of anyone reading my books are 5 out of  4 million or something like that.  I am certainly not jotting down thoughts for money.

I most enjoy writing about my perception of truth. I have to really think about my writings because I’m attempting to explain what I feel and know is true to others. In doing so, my truths become truer to me. Make sense?

Today is 8/9/23  at 8:16 am, I always have written better in the mornings. Today, I’m going to write about our minds. I asked Microsoft Bing what the difference is between our brains and our minds. Here is the answer, The brain and the mind are two distinct entities. The brain is a physical organ located inside the skull, while the mind is a sense of consciousness that takes place inside the brain. The brain is made up of blood vessels and nerve cells, whereas the mind is not made up of any cells and is hypothetical. The brain has a definite shape and structure, while the mind does not. The brain coordinates movements, feelings, and different functions of the body, while the mind refers to a person’s conscience, understanding, and thought process. You can touch the brain, but you cannot touch the mind. The debate on the difference between the brain and the mind has been going on since the time of Aristotle. The mind is considered pure vibrating energy, whereas the brain is considered a physical manifestation of the mind.

So the brain is considered a physical manifestation of the mind.

I believe one of the greatest, if not The greatest, comedian who has ever lived is George Carlin. He told serious truths about our society but in a style that was hilarious, he always hit the proverbial nail on the head. He had a skit about God that goes something like this.  Yeah, there's an invisible Big Man in the sky. He sees and hears and knows everything. He sent down commandments and if we break One of them we're going to burn and have unending, horrible torment, agony, unendurable pain and suffering in Hell. Forever and ever and ever. BUT, God is love AND he needs your money. He Just Can't Handle His Finances. Me, I worship the sun. That's something I can see. I appreciate its life-giving energy and warmth. I pray to Joe Pesci. Now there's a guy who gets the job done. Neighbors dog barking? Call Joe and the problem is solved. He was an atheist until he died.George

I also have a great admiration for Dave Gilmore, who is the lead singer and instrument player for Pink Floyd. In my humble 70-year-old opinion, Floyd is the 2nd greatest band who has ever played a note. The first are the absolute masters. The Beatles. I again asked the search engine if Gilmore or The Beatles believed in God.

Dave Gilmore, David Gilmour, the guitarist of Pink Floyd, is listed as an atheist on the Wikipedia page List of atheists in music.David In a Chicago Tribune story (March ,2006), Gilmour said: When you get to 60, one of your preoccupations is that the life you have ahead of you is quite a lot shorter than the life you have behind you. You can’t help thinking about that. It’s something inside all of us, even though I’m not a believer in God or an afterlife. I’m an atheist. I’m sort of resigned to my lot in life, and content in it."  He also said he believes in making the most out of each day and lives in  the moment.Dave

The religious views of the Beatles evolved over time and differed among members John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. Although all four Beatles were associated with either Protestantism or Roman Catholicism in their childhood, they had all abandoned their religious upbringings by1996. In1965, while filming for Help! In the Bahamas, a Hindu gave each of them a copy of a book on reincarnation. This encounter is widely regarded as having sparked the band’s interest in Indian culture. In March 1966, Lennon remarked to a journalist from the Evening Standard that the Beatles had become more popular than Jesus . The comment went unnoticed until, in August of the same year, the American magazine Datebook republished it, inciting protests against the Beatles. The band was threatened, their records were publicly burned, and some radio stations refused to play their songs. After the Beatles’ 1966 US tour, Harrison broadened his interest in Indian culture to include Hinduism. He and his wife Pattie Boyd went on a pilgrimage to Mumbai to meet gurus. In 1968, all four Beatles went to Rishikesh in northern India to study meditation with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Although the Beatles did not continue their relationship with the Maharishi, Harrison became involved in the Hare Krishna tradition until his death. After the break-up of the Beatles in 1970, Lennon continued to reject religion. His 97 single Imagine is regarded as an atheist anthem. In 2001, Starr said he had recently returned to monotheism, while McCartney said he has a personal faith in something good, but it doesn’t really go much further than that . John also said, I’m not anti-God, antiChrist or anti-religion. I was not saying we are greater or better. I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I’m sorry I said it, really. I never meant it to be a lousy anti-religious thing. From what I’ve read, or observed, Christianity just seems to be shrinking, to be losing contact. So George, John, and Ringo believed in God, and Paul is on the fence."The Masters

I happen to enjoy a strong faith and belief in God. But definitely NOT in God as depicted in the Bible. In the Old Testament God is described as mean, jealous, envious, demanding worship, promoter of fear and vengeful; among other things. In the New Testament, God supposedly sent His only Son to be tortured and die an agonizing death. Why? For our sin.
