Life as a rock star comes with a lot of perks. Fame. Fans. Fortune. I have everything I’ve ever wished for, except for one thing. Someone to share it with.

Too bad I can’t date. Women only want me because of my fame, looks, and money. I’ve learned the hard way not to trust anyone. It only leads to a broken heart.

But then I meet Willow. She doesn’t even know I’m famous and accepts me as I am. I want her. I need her. But how can I be with her without knowing if I can keep her safe from gossipy journalists and ruthless paparazzi?

    Chapter One

    Willow

Order’s up, Jeffrey shouts from the kitchen.

I grab the plates filled with steaming hot fries and cheeseburgers and speed walk toward the correct tables. I put the plates down with a big smile before hurrying over to another table, where I wipe my hands on my apron and scribble down the new orders.

This is one of the busiest nights I’ve ever experienced at Just One More Bite, and I’ve been working at the local diner for two years. Being a waitress isn’t my dream job, but it allows me to live on my own while getting a degree so I can work as a librarian.

Do you know why the diner is packed tonight? Gene, one of my regulars, asks as he sips his soda. Trout Creek is supposed to be a quiet town with the occasional tourist, not... this.

I shrug. Not a clue. Maybe because of that famous band playing at the stadium in the city tomorrow? I heard all the surrounding hotels were sold out, causing people to trickle into nearby towns.

Judging by the average age of tonight’s customers, I’m pretty sure I’m right on the money. Silver Lining Heroes are insanely popular with twenty-somethings, especially the female kind. Apparently, the band members are super hot. I wouldn’t know. I love their music, but I haven’t searched for them online to see what they look like yet. Between working at the diner, studying to get my degree, and devouring steamy romance books, I don’t have the bandwidth to add something as insignificant as drooling over famous guys to my to-do list.

Gene swivels on his bar stool and gazes around the room. How famous is this band?

Not Taylor Swift famous, but they won two Grammy’s last year, a girl sitting at the counter answers. One for Best Album and one for Best Song.

I smile at Gene. That’s your answer right there.

The two of them get talking while I refill drinks, fetch orders from
