About this ebook

I was asked a few years ago to write a film script about the characters mentioned in the story. Whereas, I wrote the second story film script in 2007 which I sent to the producer. Sadly, publishers won't read scripts unless sent by a Literary agent, which I've never had. For that reason, I've published all my books with Draft2Digital that don't charge me anything. They only keep a small percentage of my commission of books sold.

I began writing when my then wife and I designed devices to help plants. I sat in front of my computer to type a short description of each one. To my utter amazement a character called Uncle Twotrees appeared in my mind and took me to The Secret Plant World where he introduced me to lots of characters. I felt I was taken over by a writer in my inner consciousness who wrote over 30,000 words.

The following week I went to a night school course on how to publish books, Tv and film scripts. Then I returned home and asked my inner writer to write a film script. Which he did which I published as a novella called 'Three Strangers Rob a Gangster' that is available on many sites. My inner conscious writer keeps writing stories about people I meet, and scripts on various subjects.

The second story was a film script that the film producer Steven Spielberg was looking for in 2007. I asked my inner consciousness to write a script based on the series. Which it did, to my surprise. But the production company would not read it because I did not have a literary agent. I've had to change the name of the main character as it is copyright protected.

My writers name is Peter Brighton.  I’m a 74-year-old retired Brit, living alone in the Dominican Republic. I spend most of my time writing children’s stories, film and TV scripts. Plus, a series of self-printing photo booklets of an owner’s pet photos.  The pet describes whats happening. As do my Dominican penguins and cats who meet with many toys and visit the island.   Please visit my website www.petersbooklets.com for more information about my published books on many sites. As well as details about my self-printing booklets that I could send you for free if you email me at peterbrightonwriter@gmail.com    . My objective in life. Is to help people move their lives forward. Also, to help stray dogs and cats. If I become a successful writer. I shall use the royalties, to help more people and animals. At this moment in time I run out of my pension every month because of the support I have given, which is quite stressful. I’ve also been seriously ill for the past year which has affected my eyesight and mentality. I’m hoping the books I’ve published will encourage young adults to study the Seth series of books by the medium Jane Roberts. As Seth, who is a multi-dimensional educator, declared last century that Jesus will return to the human world in 2075 to change the world so that everyone cares for ever living thing and species. Hoping the readers will help him then.

STORY NO 1 - PROFEESSOR JERZY AND HIS SON LEX THE CHARITY ORGANIZER

    CHAPTER ONE -STEM CELLS LECTURE

In the Harvard medical school in a lecture room. Professor Jerzy is telling the students about VSELS that his team has been experimenting with. Behind him is a screen showing a breakdown of stem cells. He explains to the students.

"As you all will know Stem cells are the body's raw materials — cells from which all other cells with specialized functions are generated. Under the right conditions in the body or a laboratory, stem cells divide to form more cells called daughter cells. These daughter cells either become new stem cells (self-renewal) or become specialized cells (differentiation) with a more specific function, such as blood cells, brain cells, heart muscle cells or bone cells. No other cell in the body has the natural ability to generate new cell types. What uses do you think we can put stem cells to?

"They can be used to generate healthy cells to replace diseased cells’ suggests one student.

Correct. Stem cells can be guided into becoming specific cells that can be used to regenerate and repair diseased or damaged tissues in people. Who do you think will benefit?

People with spinal cord injuries, type 1 diabetes, Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, heart disease, stroke, burns, cancer and osteoarthritis. Suggests another student.

Very good. Stem cells have the potential to be grown to become new tissue for use in transplant and regenerative medicine.

A third student asks May I ask what your research team is looking into?

Our stem cell research team with help from Louisville University have discovered incredibly small embryos in stem cells that we call VSELS.

Do you know what they do?

Yes and No. We’ve found that there are the most primitive population of stem cells residing in the bone marrow. They are functional but we are unsure if they are able to supply all other types of stem cell.

What type of research are you personally carrying out, professor? enquires a student.

I’ve been focusing on the lungs because of the many patients with Covid 19 who are struggling to breathe. I’ve also been experimenting with fish gills and amphibians.

"I’ve never heard anyone experimenting  with amphibians and fish. Why Sir?. Asks another student.

He explains. The young amphibians generally undergo metamorphosis from larva with gills to an adult air-breathing form with lungs. Amphibians use their skin as a secondary respiratory surface and some small terrestrial salamanders and frogs lack lungs and rely entirely on their skin. I’m curious as to see if humans could improve their breathing by implanting stem cells of amphibians.

"Do you really believe someone will volunteer to be injected with amphibian stem cells?’ questions one student.

Probably not, unless there was no alternative solution for someone unable to breath and about to die. Suddenly the professor’s secretary comes rushing into the auditorium, and whispers to the professor. He then declares to the students "I’m sorry but I have a patient who needs operating on. Please take the Covid19 seriously and follow any instructions issued by the scientists in CDC.

CHAPTER TWO- LEX HELPING HOMELESS PEOPLE IN NEW YORK

On route to the hospital in New York there is a young man called Lex who is lying on a carboard box under a bridge surrounded by many homeless. They are keeping warm by standing close to a burning drum. He stands up and picks up a heavy shoulder bag and walks to the drum on which sits a rack. He then takes out large packets of burgers which he places on the rack. Then asks Who would like a burger?

Everyone stands up and comes over. There are so many that Lex takes out some cash. He calls out to one of the homeless. Oliver please go and buy some more food and bring it straight back.

Oliver asks him Where have you been Lex, we all missed you?

Lex replies. I started a charity called Lex4Kids and travelled to Jamaica and Africa to see how best to help the children there.

A homeless guy called Joe tells Oliver to hurry up as we will ask Lex to tell us all about his trip while we are eating."

A homeless woman called Aria asks Who is this good-looking young man?

Joe explains "He’s been coming here since he was 15. Just to help us in anyway, he can. He also set up soup kitchens in other parts of New York. He even bought a lorry load of winter coats his friends gave him last

    November."

Homeless Mark added I remember he then got us all picking up Empty plastic bottles which filled the Truck. He said he was taking them to a recycling plant.

Homeless Gary also commented. I once spotted him delivering quilts and toys for dogs at the Manhattan animal sanctuary.

Oliver at last returns with bags of food that Lex starts to cook. He then starts talking about his trips abroad. "In February this year. I

visited Montego Bay, Jamaica to help disabled children. I assisted the caregivers with daily feeding and logistics. I also worked on constructing

a much-needed fence and gathering eggs to be used at the site."

Oliver asks him Did you take many photographs while you were there, as I know you’re a professional photographer and video maker?

I did Oliver. Have a look at some of the pictures I have on my mobile.

Many of the pictures of Jamaican disabled children are shown on screen. In the background is a sign that says Mustard Seed Community – Blessed Assurance.

Aria who studies the pictures comments "Despite their handicaps they all seem to be smiling when you photographed them?

"I played with them, sharing friendship and love. I so enjoyed helping these children, many of whom are my age. They made me realize how lucky I was and helped me appreciate the comforts of my life more.’ Explained Lex.

Oliver responded I know what you mean. When I was a student before becoming a teacher, I joined the peace corps and travelled the world helping people.

Joe commented. You never told us you were a teacher.

Oliver explained that was a long time ago and before I lost everything when the market crashed. Lex you said you also visited Africa, which country?

    CHAPTER THREE – SENEGAL CHILDREN

Senegal where more than half of the population lives below the poverty lines. Children are much more vulnerable in Senegal than adults. Their rights are disregarded and they face problems like hunger, limited access to drinking water, and child labor.

I seem to remember that they have problems with malaria? commented Oliver.

Lex explained "Although recent efforts have been made, children’s health remains a serious problem. Polio continues to concern due to the lack of vaccinations. Malaria is widespread and continues to ravage the

population. It causes about 30% of child death in Senegal.

Oh, that’s sad. People in China and Europe must be beginning to appreciate what it’s like as they have a Covid pandemic which is killing many citizens and they don’t have vaccines. Suggests Aria.

Lex responds Oh! Aria that reminds me. My father who is a doctor has warned me that the United States will be affected and there will be a mass lock down and social distancing. He gave me this mask to wear.

Oliver responds. It shouldn’t make much difference to us, as everyone already keeps their distance away from the homeless, except people like you Lex.

Who replies Sadly, you are right but you are all vulnerable because of how you live, and the unhealthy food you eat? My father said he will bring you all masks and carry out tests while I’m away in Senegal next month.

Aria asks him Why are you going back there?

He explains Young Senegalese children are forced to give up school even before tenth grade. They take work as domestic help in miserable working conditions for a measly salary. Some young women are victims of sexual harassment and violence. The abuse often remains hidden and protective services are virtually non-existent. I am going to work with local teachers to provide local schools with the supplies they desperately need.

I wish I could help them especially the young women. Declares Aria

Lex tells her Only one out of five young girls attend high school and as adults, only 6 women are literate for every 10 men. In Senegal, almost a quarter of children between the ages of 5 and 14 are forced to work to supplement their family’s income. I know of a way you and Oliver could help them; I’ll talk to you about it later.

Oliver asks him Aren’t you taking a risk going out there? Surely, it’s safer to stay in New York?

Maybe, but if we do have lock down, I would be happier helping the children in Senegal than sitting around my apartment all day.

Aria adds I would be happy sitting in an apartment all day instead of living on the street.

"Okay, says Lex. How about you and Oliver bed sitting in my two-bedroom apartment on Long Island, while I’m in Senegal?

What, are you serious? responds Oliver.

There is one condition. That is, I need you to collect various items for the kids in Senegal and arrange for them to be shipped to Dakar by my shipping agent.

    Aria says. "She would
