FOR LIFE
A Novel

Hailu Worku Obsse
Prologue
He was born dead.
That was the first thing he remembered. He didn't remember his name, his parents, his siblings, or his home. He didn't remember anything before that moment.
He only remembered the darkness, the coldness, the silence. He only remembered being dead.
But then something changed. He heard a sound. A sound that was unfamiliar, yet familiar. A sound that was distant, yet close. A sound that was soft, yet loud. A sound that was music.
He felt a warmth. A warmth that was gentle, yet strong. A warmth that was foreign, yet familiar. A warmth that was outside, yet inside. A warmth that was life.
He opened his eyes. He saw a light. A light that was bright, yet soothing. A light that was colorful, yet simple. A light that was above, yet below. A light that was art.
He smiled. He was alive. That was the second thing he remembered. He didn't know why he was alive, or how he came back to life. He didn't know what his purpose was, or what he had to do. He didn't know anything about himself or the world around him. He only knew one thing. He loved music and art more than anything in the world. And he wanted to share them with everyone he met.
That was his new homework to start living.
This is his story.
