Foreword
In the early part of 2021 I was getting ready to start writing a biography for BMX legend and Hollywood stuntman Eddie Fiola. Lockdowns were back in place, and I was confined to doing interviews over the phone with Eddie as I prepared to get started on his book. One day I got a call from my lifelong friend, Peter James. We talked about my book project, and he jumped right into a movie idea he had. I was just getting started in the film industry and was very inexperienced, but Peter wanted to pitch me his idea. So, like any good friend would do, I listened.
Peter James has always been the biggest Sci-Fi fan I have ever known. His passion for the genre runs deep with Stars Wars comfortably resting all alone at the top of the summit. So, I knew his movie idea was going to be set in this science fiction, futuristic world. What I didn’t know was that Peter had this amazing story already planned for a post-apocalyptic story told in a trilogy of survival of the human race in space. So, I stopped to listen to see if he had a story, because it is all about the story.
The conversation lasted for over an hour, which is probably close to an hour longer than we have ever talked on the phone, and our calls started way back in the 80’s before we even had wireless phones. Back when we tried to talk with a little privacy from our parents, but that privacy was dictated by the length of the cord. Anyways, to say I was intrigued by what Peter shared with me would be a massive understatement. I loved the trilogies of stories Peter presented along with the conflicts and resolutions the characters would have to take to save themselves and mankind.
There was, however, one big elephant in the room. You see, I was a brand-new filmmaker, having worked as a producer on a few indie films and was just starting production on my first film. I was just learning to write a script and bring in investors and Peter’s project was far too elaborate for my skill set at the time. This story would take a small production army to pull off and probably a small seven figure budget to do it right. A budget that was just a bit out of our scope of reach. So, I explained this all to Peter and recommended, if he was serious about this story, to go and write a book. There was a brief silence, and then he finally spoke, Okay if that’s what you think, then I will go write a book, but I have no idea how to go about writing a book.
I was surprised at his acceptance and agreeing to just go and author his first book on the fly, something he has never even considered doing before.
So, that is how this amazing story by Peter James came to be. He took my advice and ran with it. Honestly, I didn’t think he was going to take my advice. I thought like most people he would look at the enormity of writing a book and shelve the idea. Not only does writing a book take a whole lot of time and effort, but Peter was faced with an even larger task, telling three different stories in this one book. But he grinded it out and has created this amazing masterpiece of three separate novellas that lets the reader into this post-apocalyptic world after the destruction of the earth in 2029.
So, get ready for a journey into the future with The Manifestation of Revelation Trilogy and reserve some time because the pages that follow are nothing short of remarkable.

APOPHIS
Chapter One: His Arrival
It is Tuesday, April 10 th , 2029 at 9:30am. A shuttle crew of astronauts are frantically loading up and trying to begin emergency launch protocol, bracing for an unknown issue or event, that is upon them. A female, automated voice can be heard in the background, over a loud-speaker system, counting down aloud-while listing emergency updates and directives:
Terminal impact in three minutes. Close all entrances to underground safe ways immediately!
Alarms are sounding and flashing everywhere, as the chaotic scene of civilians and military personnel are running and screaming everywhere. Soldiers are closing the large, steel blast doors that were just mentioned in the automated message. Civilians are having to be restrained from over-running the safe way underground tunnel systems, that were built to be used as nuclear fallout shelters during any attack. Pandemonium is everywhere, as civilians are even being shot by soldiers that are trying to do their duty by maintaining some sort of order.
There are only enough supplies in these tunnel systems to sustain life for a certain number of people, and unfortunately, they must draw the line somewhere, no matter how difficult it may be. The needs of the few takes precedence over the needs of the many, during this very stressful time.
This horrible scene is obviously taking place at some sort of NASA and military installation, and it is shaking sporadically due to many types of impacts that are causing damage all around. Personnel are being smashed as debris from explosions rains down on them, and some people are even jumping to their deaths before something worse can happen to them. Fire, concrete and large shards of glass are falling everywhere, as the alarms continue to wail.
The name that is painted in bold, black writing on the side of this technically advanced shuttle reads, OBLIVION. As the final female passenger stumbles and jumps into the craft, she is handed a white Angora cat by a military officer. While he stands at attention, and saluting, he yells, Good luck to you all, and God’s speed!
She thanks him as she wipes a tear from her eye, and then she tosses the cat down inside the shuttle. She closes the door to the shuttle, picks up the cat, and joins the other passengers already strapping in, as they continue the emergency blast off procedures.
Captain Nicholas Styles anxiously yells aloud, Are all systems hot?!
Co-pilot Lt. Darrius Spencer replies, We’re all green, and ready to go, Sir!
Styles yells, Okay, begin countdown, and fire up boosters!
Hang on everyone!
One of the female passengers, Specialist Ortez, is praying in Spanish with her eyes closed, while locking her helmet in place. The crew of this OBLIVION is composed of six males, and four females, totaling ten ‘lucky’ passengers, and a cat.
(Automated voice) T-minus 10, 9, 8, 7, 6….
The shuttle is vibrating as the engine’s boosters ignite. People outside the shuttle, and on the ground, are yelling, screaming, and crying, as most cheer on their heroes. These onlookers are filled with so many different feelings toward the crew in this shuttle. Some are angry, feeling that they are being abandoned. Some are very scared, as most people would be, of oncoming certain death.
But there are also others who are prepared to die admirably, for they know these astronauts are the last hope for the human race, and they are prepared to meet their maker, while enjoying the ‘big show’ to come.
(Automated voice) 3, 2, 1…
The shuttle begins sliding on the launch-assist ramp and then lifting off as various pieces of super-heated asteroids are raining down everywhere, causing more and more wide-spread damage, death, and destruction abound.
Shuttle Pilot Spencer yells aloud, "Can anyone see the CALLISTER-4?!"
The government installation is shaking and in shambles, as walls collapse from repeated impacts and explosions. Military vehicles and personnel are being destroyed all around, as the pandemonium escalates! USAF jets and helicopters are falling out of the sky as fiery piles of junk, after being struck by falling space rock. Both civilian and military ships in the nearby ocean are ablaze and are in the process of sinking after also being struck. Specialist Ortez locates the larger passenger shuttle called the CALLISTER-4, among the horrible scenes below. That shuttle is also in the process of hastily blasting off as well.
Captain Styles announces into his mic, "This is OBLIVION-5, we have lift off!"
The CALLISTER is also now slowly sliding forward on its launch-assist ramp and lifting off as its engines push it upward to join the OBLIVION in its harrowing escape.
Spencer interjects, "Come on CALLISTER, get up baby!"
He has a very close female friend on that shuttle, so he is taking a very keen interest in its safety. Small rockets and facility mounted, very large caliber machine gun turrets, fire aimlessly into the suddenly, gloomy sky, only occasionally hitting some of the seemingly infinite number of fiery rocks falling from the atmosphere.
The shuttle team is watching the large transport below on the rear monitors, as it slowly rises above the seemingly doomed facility.
Over their onboard coms they hear the unknown commander of that shuttle reciting their status, "This is CALLISTER-4, we have lift---AHHHHH!"
The command team of the other shuttle lets out a blood-curdling scream as multiple rocks tear through the whole ship. The airborne shuttle team looks at the monitors in horror as they see their fellow countrymen perish while the whole shuttle explodes!
Spencer screams aloud, No, Diana!
The explosion of the shuttle and falling wreckage ignites a neighboring building of the complex. People who were not smashed by the falling debris of the doomed shuttle and destroyed building, are seen on fire, running around screaming. Rocket fuel falls all around igniting anything in the vicinity of the fiery crash.
Trying to maintain his composure, Capt. Styles grabs Spencer by the arm and says, I’m so sorry my friend.
As the OBLIVION-5 continues to rise, the crew can see APOPHIS, the ultra large, super-heated asteroid, named after the Egyptian god of Chaos. It is descending into the upper atmosphere of Earth, and it is coming ridiculously fast. The world knew of his arrival for at least a decade prior to today, and though there was some concern by a few of the world’s governments, the general public was under the impression that it was supposed to pass near the Earth in three more days, fittingly on Friday the 13th. Comets and asteroids of this size are dubbed the name, planet-killers, because that is what they do. They destroy planets, and just about all life on them.
APOPHIS’ fiery trajectory is heading directly to Earth, as the shuttle’s crew watch with panic-stricken awe at the cataclysmic scene unfolding before them.
An anonymous female passenger exclaims, Oh my God, look at the size of that thing!
Fiery pieces of debris are hitting the shuttle, and alarms are sounding all around the craft. Instruments are failing, as the crew watches a couple of nuclear warheads launch as a last-ditch effort to alter the rock’s course. In theory, if at the very least, these warheads could splinter it into smaller pieces, these lesser sections would probably do less damage. Massive amounts of death and destruction would still take place, but at least the planet could recover. There is a blinding light, accompanied by blast shock waves upon the multiple denotations of the surface to air nukes. The crew squints and covers their eyes momentarily when the powerful missiles strike the large target. These detonations only break chunks from the main body of the rock, as he continues past the atmosphere.
The OBLIVION is battered, but makes it through the atmosphere, only to see on the monitors, an unreal, never-before seen impact explosion, as the planet-killer slams into the Earth. A large plume of dirt, rock, and dust explodes into the air upon implosion. A phenomenal shockwave slams into the shuttle, as they are being thrown into a flat spin, on their way into outer space. Systems on the shuttle are failing, and alarms are going haywire. Total annihilation and scenes of biblical destruction on Earth, drowns out the screaming of the ten passengers, as they turn silent, knowing that their lives will never again be the same.
APOPHIS
Chapter Two: The God of Chaos
There is a small lunar basecamp powered by rows of solar panels, on the moon, and it is being manned by another shuttle crew of eight. This exploratory team consist of astronauts and scientists from the United States, Canada, and Japan. This joint venture has been on site for a few days now, and they are completing normal daily tasks. This preplanned expedition was created many months earlier, as these three
