Chapter 1
This is a story that has to be told so everyone can be brought up to speed in Santa’s life at the North Pole. It all started one Christmas Day in a field in North America. A winding, babbling stream of water running in the background with the north star shining brightly in the heavens. Snow glistening with the icicles off the branches yet so silently and swiftly a baby reindeer was born. Her mother not far from the little infant now reaches down and gives the baby reindeer a kiss and smiles and gently nudges the baby reindeer to its feet. Not far off watching the baby reindeer being born were wolves.
Mean like wolves unfed in months, their ribs showing and the only thing on their minds was food. They huddled near the forest not trying to alert the male stag reindeer of their intentions. They knew this was a ferocious male reindeer that was overlooking the herd; if he’s alerted to these unkempt wolves, the herd will move out and the female reindeer will fight to their dying breath to protect their young in any situation. They circled ever so gently moving closer and closer; their breath was the only thing you could smell of these filthy mangy wolves moving in closer for the kill.
Just then a shot rang out. The reindeer herd panicked. Wolves trying to move in, become startled, turn the heads toward the shot, then the wolves lunge at the nearest female reindeer to them. Another shot rings out. The now panic cries in the silent field. Where reindeer once stood, they’re now scattered throughout the forest nearby, and where all the reindeer stood there in the field the reindeer had all run off to the safety of the forest with the big stag reindeer protecting the rear of the herd. The wolves came upon the stag, the reindeer threw one into the tree with his mighty antlers. One quick toss of his gigantic horns and now the bold stag reindeer was running off with the rest of the herd.
A mother reindeer frantically looks back for her baby. But the mother reindeer knows it’s too late; that her baby was born too late in the year at a hungry time, she has to move on. The hardest part was leaving her baby to the wolves or wherever that loud bang came from. This female reindeer didn’t know why the stag reindeer was forcing her to move on. There’s so much confusion and haste and things happen. For what reason? No one knows.
A man stumbles across the field and there trembling behind a rock
