Benjamin Katz

Born in Israel in 1945, Benjamin Katz fought in two wars and settled in Denmark in 1972. He studied psychology at the University of Copenhagen and has been practicing as a clinical psychologist since 1980, treating more than thirty thousand clients throughout the years. He is the author of twelve books. (See book list including this one. Most of them deal with the urgent need for us to evolve further in the future to survive and prevail.) Two aspects have attracted his attention in the last twenty years: the deteriorating mental and physical state of human beings adjusting to modern life or rejecting it, and the state of the planet that has gone from bad to worse. Once he figured out that the sharp decline of the mental and physical health of so many people is caused by our unhealthy lifestyle, lack of global sustainability, lack of foresight/oversight in global affairs leading to our deteriorating climate and living conditions, he found his mission: to define a new, evolved vision that aims to eliminate these factors. In this vision, he strongly rejects crucial aspects which constitute preconditions to our current well-being, such as modern lifestyle and its excesses, stressors, and crazy trafficking; the deterioration of global ecology due to consumerism, pollution and an unsustainable global economy; and demography and spirituality. Instead of this failed global conduct, he presents sustainable values, practices, global governance, and purposeful efforts to enable us to evolve beyond our mental limitations, shortcomings, and blind spots, which, if not altered, will become our doom.

I counted my years and discovered that I have less time to live than I have lived so far!

I feel like that child who won a tin of sweets: he ate the first few with pleasure, but when he realized that there were only a few left, he began to savor them fully.

I no longer have time for endless meetings, where statutes, rules, procedures and internal regulations are discussed, knowing that nothing will be done.

I no longer have time for absurd people who, regardless of their age, have not grown up.

I no longer have time to deal with mediocrity.

I don’t want to be in meetings where inflated egos are paraded.

I don’t tolerate manipulators and opportunists.

I resent the envious, who discredit the capable to take their place, talents and achievements.

People do not discuss meaning, only the headlines.

My time is too short for being preoccupied with titles.

I want the essence; my soul is in a hurry!

Without many sweets in my tin!

I want to live next to humans, …the real people.

Who know how to laugh at their mistake.

Who don’t get puffed up by their own success.

Who do not consider themselves elected before their time.

Who take responsibility for their actions.

In this way, human dignity is defended

And we live in truth and honesty.

The bottom line is what makes life worth living.

I want to surround myself with people who know how to touch the hearts of those whom hard strokes of life have learned to grow with sweet touches of the soul.

Yes…

I am in a hurry… – to live with the intensity that only maturity can give.

I am not going to waste any sweets I have left!

I’m sure they’ll be more delicious than the ones I’ve eaten so far.

My goal is to reach the end satisfied and at peace with my loved ones and my conscience. We have two lives, and the second one begins when you realize that you only have one….

1.7-18.7.2023: The planet of reality rejecting idiots: This week’s record-breaking global temperatures are likely highest in ‘at least 100,000 years’, all the while wars and conflicts prevent us from global cooperation

The deep tragedy of us- Homo Stupidligence - is that what we come to bless becomes often a long term curse. Therefore we must beyond our limitations progress.

We can only save ourselves from ourselves by wisdom guiding words, our upgrading, and some blood-dripping swords!

Our utmost global goal is to get us out of our stupidity’s hole and ennoble man’s soul.

Rage and fight against the Night. Struggle to bring force the light, which one day will break both our folly’ and death’ might.

The traps of our stupidity:

There are three forces in the human domain that will determine humanity’s destiny:

1. Our stupidity

2. Our ingenuity/ constructive intelligence; and

3. Our Farsighted Wisdom.

Their interactions will determine our future. If the force of ingenuity will ally itself with the force of stupidity, we are doomed. If, on the other hand, the force of ingenuity will ally itself with the force of Farsighted Wisdom, we will follow the ever-evolving, advanced intelligence journey!

There is an impending necessity for us- to survive in order to accomplish our evolving journey. There is a mission and ultimate meaning for us- to evolve beyond our crude nature, and there is our stupidity to sabotage this project by destroying us!

Therefore we will have to attain in the coming centuries a much better/wiser brain bargain in order to pursue our globally unifying, evolving vision/mission.

This fundamental insight is not clear for people who have grown up being both self- focused while being sheep in the herd, as the essence of their lives.

It is important for a person how he feels/thinks or how his religion or ideology defines his role in life, but regarding our future journey it means nothing. The only thing that counts in this context is whether a man contributes with life affirming actions for this evolving, sustainable journey or not.

There is the macro way of thinking: farsighted, sustainable, and evolving. With it we can create an ever-evolving mastering and blooming future civilization.

The micro mode of thinking which dictates the rules of our conduct on earth right now is short-sighted, primitive, greedy, and causes lots of tragedies and futile wars. Yet we stick to it!

Why? Because our brains are bent on short -sighted vanity!

Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity. What profit hath a man of all his labor which he taketh under the sun? One generation passes away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abides forever.

The point is clear: We repeat all our faults in different disguises, even in progress, which makes them more fatal, as we lack a farsighted direction to follow and a farsighted brain to guide us to pursue our further evolvement!

The script on the wall for current humanity!

What drives life and makes it survive over millions of years is evolution/adaptation. We learned to speed up evolution with animals and plants, but are too vain to speed up ours, even though we are the most harmful vermin on earth, which can end life for ourselves and most current species.

Some dramatic development is discreetly taking place in the world right now(2023) on the backdrop of ailing, fractured global civilization. There is a growing political Idiocracy, where politicians act both stupidly and irresponsibly by neglecting huge global dangers/ challenges. Can their ostrich’ behavior be related to the fact that we- due to a myriad of reasons, including pollution- are becoming dumber? Our average IQ has been falling the last 25 years, indicating strongly that we get dumber. It is clear that this decline also affects our politicians and the growing, visible Idiocracy in world affairs.

The answer is simple: He is insane,

not aspiring for a better brain’ bargain!

He thinks he is not unreasonable at all,

destroying both his body and soul.

Vanity, greed, lusts, illusions, are his goals,

but from his insanity he won’t away crawl

and in standstill his transcendence he foils.
