About this ebook

This time the mighty of the world don't combine to indulge in some massive worldwide deceit just for monetary and other gains; now they wreak Genocide-the open Mass Murders.
Millions across the globe have already died of what is believed to be a lab generated Virus and many more off the records. All sorts of miseries among a much larger number of survivors abound. This is the dark reality. No one knows how many more and who all will be further victims.
Many pertinent questions connected with the pandemic of Covid-19 and its management globally remain unasked and hence unanswered, while the spread of the disease continues unabated despite mass vaccination.
The world is again driven by the same absurdity, falsity, and greed as explained in the author's earlier book 'We the Oodles', costing millions of precious lives this time.

What is Killing Us... Covid or Stupidity? - Atul Kumar

    Corona Virus Then

I reproduce below a Facebook post of 22nd April 2020 by me (edited for better readability) that by chance came back to my attention recently and that I find quite relevant to the contents of this book (barring some statistical data that has changed a lot since). This post tells us what the scenario was then; makes us contemplate whether we addressed the necessary questions after being struck with Covid-19 and did what was needed to be done. Would the world scenario since then have been different had we acted wisely and collectively then?

    Here is that post.

"I had posted the following post on the 6th April, 2020. By mistake it got deleted just now. I post the same below again. It is getting more and more relevant since the world has been failing in combating the virus, the way it has been proceeding. In the bargain, the masses are not only dying but are becoming more and more miserable. Strange that millions are still happy sharing useless Tik Tok jokes on lockdown, but matter of life and death doesn’t matter to them (the post was shared by only 3-4 friends ). Human folly is undoubtedly boundless.

Since the said post, mortality percentage in India is improving, but for the world it still remains at a whopping 20% including China with a very large data of about 9 lakh closed cases. Darkness of the world in knowing the behaviour of the virus is increasing every day, rather than the world becoming wiser. Since then a number of countries have asked some serious questions of China, India still keeping quiet. But again strangely the question that China will be most hard pressed to answer is not being pressed. As things have been going, futile talk will continue and the masses, you and me, will continue to suffer. But then we deserve our suffering for allowing ourselves to play in the hands of the foolish or unscrupulous authorities and media. The virus is becoming more dangerous each passing day, majority of cases being asymptomatic of late.

Below is the post dated 6/4/2020.

‘I write this as I feel compelled to write, tomorrow may be too late.

Let us try to analyze Corona pandemic and world’s response to it a bit objectively.

Not long after the COVID-19 was declared a pandemic and started raising its ugly head in the world outside China, the question that hammered me was, How come the pandemic remained localized in China, didn’t spread in that vast country, and was spreading in the world? To my mind it was a very obvious and a very big question that required immediate and serious attention of the authorities in all the badly affected countries and international organizations like WHO. Because in answer to this question lied the truth and a way forward to combat the pandemic that was and has been going out of hand each passing day. I raised this question in my Whatsapp groups, but group members were not much interested, having better things to pursue. Not that I was the only one to be bothered by this question; a whole lot of people were feeling perturbed by this question – there have been lot of messages to that effect and resultant conspiracy theories have been circulating in the social media and there have been pointed references to it in some Media channels also. But on the whole this question remained a question in the passing, the emphasis of the world continuing to be on masks, hand-wash, lockdowns and social distancing, test kits and large scale testing, creating medical facilities and infrastructure to treat millions of anticipated patients, manufacture of thousands of ventilators etc. Nothing much wrong in that; because when fire is there, immediate ways and means of fighting the fire have to be resorted to.

But strange and inexplicable is the way the world authorities are not bothering to find answer to the question, How come the pandemic didn’t spread in China? That should have taken precedence over everything else and should have been the focus of concerted world efforts; because correct answer to this would have told the world what to do to combat the monster COVID-19 effectively rather than continuing to make attempts in the dark, ineffective so far. Today despite world’s efforts people are getting infected right and left and they are dying right and left. The world can take only solace that probably in absence of efforts being put in, the scenario would have been much worse.

To attribute non spreading of the disease in China to lockdown of Wuhan after 23rd January, strict surveillance of patients and suspects through some app, strict discipline of the Communist regime etc may satisfy one only till one starts using grey cells. There is no known reason why the dreaded disease spreading so fast in the rest of the world did not spread in rest of China more menacingly than it is spreading in the world today before lockdown of Wuhan took place. There has to be something much more than meets the eye. China has to be knowing what that is and the world has to know what it is if it is to save the millions of lives under threat.

It will be self defeating and self deceiving for us to think that the world is helpless before China. China can’t survive in isolation given today’s globalization. And what for are international organizations like WHO and United Nations, if they all are to be helpless when massacre of millions across the globe is in sight? The world failed to raise issue in UNSC in the month of March as per available reports. I saw a news item yesterday that India has now raised the issue at United Nations asking for China to be transparent and share all the information with the world. I did wonder whether it was too little too late, just an eyewash, or whether the world was waking up now to do what it should have done months ago. It could be better late than never. I also wondered whether it was a result of my email to Health Ministry of India a couple of days ago.

In my email I had raised another issue and another pertinent question. For China mortality among COVID-19 infected has been about 4%, whereas for the world excluding China it has been above 26% so far out of a whopping 250000 closed cases – not a small data base. It is in same range for India also though database for India is too small till now to reach at any conclusions. But yes, the trend is not encouraging for India either. Nothing is in sight to hope that mortality will reduce considerably. So I had requested that India and the world must find out from China what needs to be done to control the fatalities from COVID-19, to be in the range of 4% as had happened in China.

A common man has no option but to act as per advice of the authorities. And what is the state of the authorities in the world? Months after pandemic having been successfully tackled in one country of the world, no one even knows whether the healthy should wear mask or not when venturing out. Weeks ago there was no need for them to wear mask, now suddenly they need to wear mask. What has so advanced a world come to?

One can’t help marveling at the gullibility of the Indians. Even today they are quite happy singing paeans of their PM for asking them to ring bells one day and lit candles the other day, totally oblivious of the approaching death or disease for them or their near and dear ones. Everyone is finding escape in escapism thinking that it won’t be he/she. Why not? Did millions infected across the world expect to be infected? In a matter of weeks thousands have turned into dead bodies from healthy individuals, and many times more are fighting battle of life and death. For the authorities, for Heads of States, for the world, we shall just be statistics – whether suffering as infected ones or dead. But we do matter for our family and friends. So it is for us to bother about ourselves. And time is now; we have already lost precious time.

It really beats one how the world is behaving today. It is trying to do everything not knowing what to do, indulging in all sorts of talk, especially the Indian Media, but not asking China where all the answers lie. ‘जिसने दर्द दिया है वही दवा देगा’ (whosoever has given the pain, will give the medicine) very much applies here.

As a common man, one has faith in international organizations and expect them to be above board and deliver for the humanity. But sadly that has not been the case. Earlier it has been ICC (International Cricket Council) that has been governing the massive public fraud through Cricket for decades. Now it is WHO (World Health Organization) whose abject failure has brought the world to its knees. Lives are being lost in thousands daily and world economy is shattering. Yet no questions are being asked of China. Neither by great world leaders like PM Modi nor by any international organizations. Are they too ignorant, don’t have common sense even of a common man, or are they just not concerned about the miseries being inflicted on common man despite their pretensions otherwise? If later is the case, as it appears to be, then sooner we wake up, the better for us.

Let us sincerely hope that God is great and India won’t go European or American way. But can and should we keep quiet in the hope of a good fortune? Certainly we are preparing for the worst by trying to create necessary infrastructure to meet the challenge. Then should we not be asking serious questions of China also rather aggressively, asking other countries also to join us?

You and I can’t ask China. Our government will have to do it. We can certainly make the government and the world do it – by creating awareness, by building public opinion. At the end of the day, it is the common man who will suffer every way. And therefore it is for him to act now. Choice is ours. Whether we like to remain as the guinea pig, or whether we like to assert for our own well being. Thank you."

Alas! Even such a global tragedy as Covid-19 couldn’t make us change our ways evolved over centuries a bit! Something akin to the famous saying by the great scientist and thinker Albert Einstein – ‘It is easier to break an atom than a prejudice.

We, throughout the world, chose to wait for our turn to be slaughtered like goats rather than doing whatever we could; not helpless but victim of our inability to see beyond our nose, beyond our immediate self interest! The result has been there for all to see. Not only 5 millions have already perished as per official figures - one tenth of those in India, but many more out of those surviving have suffered on account of health and wealth. Over and above, the psychological damage to the human-beings has been much greater. I may be wrong, but Covid-19 appears also to have diluted our sensitivities somewhat!

    Where are Thy Clothes, Gentleman?

    (October, 2020)

There goes a popular story about a king roaming naked in the town and nobody daring to tell him so until a child asked him, Where are your clothes? Today, in India one experiences all the institutions, none excluded, going about naked in the town, quite aware of their nakedness since the grownups are repeatedly telling them so. But the kings have lost all the shame and are happily parading themselves naked – shamelessly. Continuance of a thoroughly exposed gargantuan fraud and crime in the name of cricket unabashedly amply proves so. And this fraud is being sold and marketed 24×7 by none other than the mainline media that claims and is supposed to be the conscience keeper of the society. A recent book brings that out with documented proofs and records more prominently, though the same is being brought out in the public domain repeatedly through books, social media, and press conferences for almost a decade now.

A bigger question today is, ‘is it that only the kings are naked?’ ‘What about the populace?’ In democracy, the people in general now have the courage to ask the king, Where are Thy clothes? But does anyone have the same courage to ask that question of the people themselves? By its very definition ‘Democracy is the government of the people, by the people, for the people.’ So how appropriate is it for the people to blame the government and the authorities all the time for their failings? Is it not that the people fail themselves first, driven by hypocrisy and ego above everything else? Don’t we crib only when something hits us personally, and prefer to remain mute spectators when injustice and wrong-doings are happening all around us? As a crude but obvious example, many Indians start shouting ‘fixing, fixing!’ when India inexplicably loses in prestigious Cricket matches like Champions Trophy final to Pakistan in 2017; but millions of Indians don’t bother about round the clock fixing in Cricket when the Indian team registers historic wins. When we make noise collectively on some issues like Nirbhaya rape case, Sushant Singh Rajput’s mysterious death, Hathras rape and murder case etc., are we doing it of our own volition or are we being goaded to do so by the media? If we apply our mind a little, we would know the answer.

Many other cases similar to those cited above are occurring periodically around us, but we keep quiet about those if media keeps quiet. If we think hard, we shall easily discover that we are concerned about self-interest only all the time, or are being used as puppets by media or political leaders or so called preachers.

We continue to suffer and degenerate, because we don’t understand the truth. We don’t see our own folly and failings. We shun the real crusaders among ourselves and worship fraudsters and the corrupt as heroes, super heroes, and our leaders. No one asks us, Where are Thy clothes, gentleman?

We forget a very pertinent saying ‘Nip the evil in the bud’, and go about life accepting the evils, many complaining about those and some even not complaining. Acceptance of evils leads to their reinforcement, everyone destined to suffer. Are authorities, media, or judiciary to be blamed for continuance of an open massive public crime debasing the humanity as a whole? Or is it public to be blamed for accepting and allowing this crime to continue? Surely public is more to blame. To many, the thrill and excitement from the cooked-up cricket matches was more important than any of the far-reaching implications of the crime and the fraud; to others it was none of their concerns.

I can go on and on. But I hope the point is made and understood. Like the child of the story, I ask not of the king, but of you, Where are Thy clothes, gentleman? You put on your clothes, the authorities and the kings will also then have to clothe themselves.
