Gabriel Woods

I am Gabriel Woods, author of The Golden age Trilogy and four other books including Easter Rising 1916 A Family Answers the Call for Ireland`s Freedom. My latest novel is The Golden Age Evolution, view Facebook Books by Gabriel Woods. I researched and described in my novel The Golden Age Dawns how a serious pandemic manifests and the proper international public health procedures used to control an outbreak such as in my novel the Black Marbella virus sweeps across London and the world. Covid international policy and how Covid has manifested differs widely from the proper public health procedures used to control virus outbreaks. I have obtained a Degree in Psychology and a Masters in Aid work Management from University College Dublin, a Certificate in Counselling from University Maynooth in Ireland and I am a fully trained life coach. I have travelled around the world and lived in Sydney and Brisbane in Australia. I explored major sacred places and the spiritual practices of aboriginal culture and the Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim ancient sites of India. I am the author of nine published books and my very popular positively reviewed The Golden Age Trilogy.

    Part 1 COVID

    COVID Outbreak

News of the outbreak of a new virus name Coronavirus later named COVID flashed across the television screen across every channel I flicked through. Any other news was only briefly discussed in between the newly created flashing word Coronavirus and the Chinese city Wuhan which only hours later the news flashes on all the channels I flicked through became Wuhan Coronavirus Outbreak. By lunchtime reports of increased deaths raised the level of emergency on the news channels to Deadly Wuhan Sars Coronavirus Outbreak. I was shocked to discover that few facts had been gathered as Coronavirus had been reported as breaking out in Wuhan, yet the word Emergency flashed on all the television channels, internet reports and repeated emergency reports on radio simultaneously. What I had found most interesting was that a protest march involving millions of Chinese people had occurred in Wuhan on that very same day. I knew that the whole world in just a few hours was entering a new era of sickness, death and terror. I realised that terror would be very much a feature of the coming times as I could see my friends were stunned quiet with surprise, simply from the reaction of the press across multimedia from television, internet, radio and newspapers. I remember my mouth dropping open in amazement as I walked out for my daily morning walk as the serious news continued to be conveyed to me by the newspapers in the shops. I could see how members of my community were urgently speaking among each other about the new deadly virus outbreak. The community of Athy strongly supports my work as an author and the community are featured in some of my stories I have written here in this book. I have been asked to become a politician several times to represent various groups and I refused the offers; I would not feel comfortable sitting in the Irish house of parliament Dáil Éireann and I am not a very elegant orator. Being a full-time author is my job and my profession.

During these times I could see the full spectrum of the negative aspects of human beings to the loving and caring aspects. I have seen The Good the Bad and the Ugly to quote the title of a cowboy film, humanity has been deeply affected by cowboys who have whipped up terror internationally to the point where people have been driven by fear literally moment by moment particularly by the media and other powerful groups. I hope to show, in both an informative and entertaining manner through the short stories in my book, that there is goodness in people and in the world despite the fear of death and disease that is so prevalent in our times. It is my firm belief that while we need to be vigilant of the behaviour of the few there is always the goodness that is pervasive throughout humanity which I hope to show in the following short stories. In Part 3 I write the stories of Diarmuid which I hope will be appreciated particularly for highly sensitive people or empaths who would have found the past few years and current times very challenging. The format of these stories is purposely different to the essayist approach of the previous two parts of COVID and Lockdown Stories as I write about the emotions and thoughts in an entertaining manner that highly sensitive people and people with empathic skills most likely feel during this time which Diarmuid conveys to a higher being he believes exists. Techniques to deal with what can be disturbing thoughts, emotions and behaviours occurring as a response to the events of these times are mentioned in conversations which are influenced by my knowledge and experience I am happy to share as a fully qualified FETAC Life Coach in Ireland, my educational background in psychology and my past volunteer work training and experience with the Aware Helpline in Ireland supporting people who experience depression and anxiety.

I have been informed by local people about people suffering from trauma responses due to COVID restrictions, fear of the threat of forced vaccinations particularly among young people and the fears people have of the apparent difficulties that the future will bring in terms of war and other threats which I have also observed. During the first 6 months of COVID restrictions 15 teenage boys and 4 adults committed suicide. I have observed and I have been advised that depression and anxiety has hit record high levels in Kildare at this time of writing. Many of these posts were popular on my social media, at the time of writing those posts I had over 16,000 followers on my social media combined and my friends and followers are increasing daily. At the end of this book are details on how you can connect with me on social media, I welcome you to follow me.

There is no smoke without fire as the saying goes, humanity does need to manage sickness as we have had to throughout our history, however while there is darkness there is always light for one cannot exist without the other on Earth. I believe that to promote the light on our planet we can each shine a light of hope that encourages respect for the rights of each other and ourselves as individuals. Those who claimed to defend the rights of the downtrodden are also often responsible for spreading fear too and in their own way, judging others and ignoring the rights of others to choose if the choices are not what they approve of. Such people were hypocritically regularly acting in ways which they professed they disapproved of, spreading hate and anger, and taking advantage of the fear that grew within people. If a person wants to wear a mask or be vaccinated, they should be allowed to do so as all of us should be allowed to make choices. Unfortunately, I did fall for the manipulation of these people but only for a short time. This means I am well qualified to write this book about the rights and wrongs taking place during COVID as I have experienced a wide variety of people and situations across the spectrum of the positives and negatives of human nature. I do not claim to always have done the right thing during COVID but my heart has always been in the right place, I wanted to make life easier for both myself and others, just like billions of other human beings do every day. Hopefully in the future we can understand that free will is a very valuable human quality, one that should not be allowed to be taken away by economists, politicians and those who believe they know better than what they believe to be less enlightened others. We cannot outsource our beliefs and choices to other groups, each of us are sovereign beings and from this time moving forward hopefully we can acknowledge and respect human rights. Human beings are
