About this ebook

"An excellent conclusion to The Golden Age Trilogy.
This is possibly the strongest book in the series and stands up on its own - you don't need to have read the first two, which is unusual for a trilogy. The plot is a continuation and the characters resurface, together with some new, but it's complete in itself. The themes of religion, Mother Earth and the destructiveness of mankind dominate the plot and weave an interesting thread, leading to a very satisfying conclusion.
Even so, the door is left open for further books in this series."

A helicopter hovered an hour away from 10 Downing Street, the whooshing sound of the chopping blades barely audible, it was state of the art military creation. A side door opened; a man dressed in black ninja uniform jumped onto the roof without making a sound. The helicopter almost silently ascended and flew in the opposite direction from 10 Downing Street circling around London so as not to be identified, the military man in black turned private use for hire tiptoed so nimbly that not a foot could be heard as he approached 10 Downing Street. While he walked closer, he took out from his pocket a small plastic block with an encrusted white cross forked at each end with a red centre, the ancient symbol of royalty and so many powerful people. He pressed the red button and waited for the chaos to ensue.

The military continued to protect Prime Minister Elizabeth Lyons wherever she travelled and even in her home as far as outside her bedroom door. 10 Downing Street was a maze of soldiers, the security system of her makeshift home that as time went on she despised more and more. Elizabeth was leading the United Free States against not just of the conquering of the world but the takeover of the planet by forces no human understood no matter how much they were colluded with. Elizabeth was secretly unpopular with the internal politics of Britain, even the queen was displeased with the position Elizabeth had taken on as the defence against the allied forces who wished to take over the world. Elizabeth would often feel hopeless in her role as rescuer of the world and often did not want to but she could not think of any other way of being, she felt born to carry out her plans which were to liberate the world.

Elizabeth sat alone in the lounge, she placed her laptop on the rich blue carpet feeling unsupported by anyone especially her husband and walked to the oak drinks cabinet, oil paintings of Elizabeth`s family and ancestral home sported along the oak panelled walls alongside paintings of the queen and distinctive prime ministers. The luxurious chairs were made of ancient Chinese silk and the frames made of old English oak. She sat down while looking at the painting of her parents who had died always focusing on the soft facial features which to her signified their kindness and their selflessness toward Elizabeth, always doing whatever they could to support her in her leadership of the United Free States. Her parents died suddenly in a car crash, it was as if a part of Elizabeth`s heart died with them. They were the essential element in her life even just for friendship, they told their stories over and over at dinner parties or catching up with the news, their daughter becoming Prime Minister and yet Elizabeth was always simply their daughter. Elizabeth loved her parent’s stories each time a small twist would be added to keep Elizabeth`s attention. They had given Elizabeth a most precious family heirloom, a special book that her father had found in a metal box under the roots of a fallen oak tree and a cross made of reeds which her father had placed in a glass protective container.

The Prime Minister was not allowed by her parents to see the ancient book on display in the library, which they often stood and stared at looking for guidance in their lives from the ancient book that had the power of prophecy. Elizabeth had a strong sensitivity and her parents decided she must be mature to handle it`s strength of prophesy. The book was similar in appearance to the Book of Kells which was an ancient manuscript created by Irish monks which was made from natural ingredients such as berries to blend into strong bright colours used to paint designs and letters however Elizabeth`s ancient book was endowed with the power of divining the future and would often clear her mind when she obtained guidance.

To Elizabeth`s fear and chagrin word had escaped 10 Downing Street, after the Pope had visited her, he had conversationally spoke with her about such books and she had showed him her own that was kept in glass case to preserve the ancient book at the foot of her bed. She was so drawn into his conversational story telling manner and feeling a little self-aggrandised proudly showed off the most important item in her world which afterwards almost whispered goodbye to her each time she walked by and why she could not understand. As Elizabeth stood staring at the painting of her parents suddenly the lights went out and she heard the soldiers in consternation having no visuals in the whole of Downing Street, Elizabeth froze in fear.

The soldier in black ninja uniform hovered momentarily from the edge of Elizabeth`s bedroom window making sure the room was empty. From his pocket he removed a circular very sharp large blade just barely covered in steel along the top. Quickly he applied the suction section of the blade to the middle of the window, knowing he only had ten seconds to finish his objective after he cut the window before the military fully reorganised themselves and would charge into Elizabeth`s bedroom room in case Elizabeth was under threat or her ancient book. He effortlessly cut a hole in the window. He reached toward the glass case of the book, simply lifting it up and tipping it over quickly as his hand went through the hole he had cut, in the window his hand grabbed the book. As he brought the ancient manuscript toward him with his one hand, he closed the book and brought it through the gap in the hole. Time was ticking and only five seconds remaining before the electronic system would function again the army would appear; he could hear them already running up the stairs. Quickly he slid the book into a black cotton bag which he fastened to his chest.

The helicopter that had transported him and dropped him a long distance from Downing Street so he would not be spotted anywhere in the area hovered almost noiselessly, a black ladder hung out of the side of the helicopter onto which the ninja nimbly climbed and quickly jumped inside even before the door was closing. This job would make the ex-army well trained soldier for hire six million pounds richer, it did not matter to him that he had dealt a terrible blow to Elizabeth the already beleaguered Prime Minister of Britain.

The soldiers quickly regrouped. The captain discovered that there was a repeating fault in the computer system three weeks ago that governed the electronic security system. He had detected the glitch himself, three times walking in front of the computer screen as the screen flickered quickly in less than a second. The technicians had insisted the programming of the security and electronic system was perfect though the captain continued to feel ill at ease and had made a formal complaint to the major who further enquired and the captain`s complaint went to the very top command; he and his army being dedicated to Elizabeth and her protection and again was informed there was no issue.

The computer technicians ran a full check of all systems and reassured the army that all electronic systems were flawless. Now the captain stood in the chess board like black and white floor with his army in confusion. The soldiers switched on the torches on their helmets. He ordered the soldiers to run straight to Elizabeth as he ran upstairs to the far side of the building to where her precious book should be. The electronic system turned on as the alarms continued to blare. The captain glared at the space in the bedroom to see the ancient manuscript was missing from its stand, the toppled over glass cover and a hole cut into the window. He charged back down the stairs to find Elizabeth standing at the bottom of the stairs with tears streaming down her cheeks The book is stolen isn`t it? The captain replied softly Yes, it is Elizabeth, but at least you are safe and unharmed. She hugged the captain and whispered There is that much, thank you. as the captain tenderly hugged her and said nothing more knowing that sometimes words are not enough.

Colin lay out across the couch in front of the large black television screen so large as to curve slightly out past the cream leather couch. He lay his legs across Linda`s lap as she sipped tea, she admired the curve of the muscles on Colin`s legs as he wore only noticeably short and tight trunk underwear. Linda`s eyes lingered on Colin`s firm well defined chest, and washboard stomach. Colin noticed her gaze at his body and grinned I still got it love don`t I? Three years later and ye still can`t get enough of me! Ah well I`m still the younger man by fifteen years to you. You love are still looking good! Linda replied Yes I`m still perky and not a wrinkle yet with perfect white skin though and no grey in my red hair! Must be all the laughs we have together. Seriously though do you not miss all the excitement you, Susan and I had when we met George and we gave a speech in the European Union and the disaster that turned out to be? Even our stay in Sanchi in Africa was terrifying but exciting. What do you think Col? Colin giggled Well I think I`d prefer a quiet life, took me a long time to get used to this huge mansion you inherited and it`s nice to have made good friends with people here in …what I mean love is I`ve been so busy making a life here and you already were set up. Anyway Linda I wouldn`t be surprised if we`re called back to work soon to save the world again so don`t worry too much love. I tell ye one thing I`m glad Susan had to deal with the virus outbreak in Britain and Europe she had her work cut out for her!

Linda stared out the huge sitting room windows which she had replaced with small narrow windows so that as she turned toward the sprawling garden as if she were among the luscious greenery and flowers, roses piling out of their flower beds. Colin rose from the couch and ran up behind Linda and grabbed her shoulders, she gasped in shock then laughed. Colin removed Linda`s shirt abruptly and grabbing her perky breasts then massaged them while nipping her neck and she moaned Oh dear God Col, oh my dear you still turn me on so much. Colin unbuttoned her jeans and shoved them downwards. Linda stroked Colin`s hips as he shoved down his underwear rapidly to halfway down his muscular legs. He lifted Linda up and sat her on the edge of the table, was overcome with passion knocking down the vase of flowers as the cups and plates hit the ground and entered Linda roughly causing her to moan and gasp over and over. Colin controlled his passion and slowed down to prolong the pleasure began to cum and Linda came with him. Colin cried out Oh Jesus babe, oh you’re the sexiest woman on Earth. Linda replied Colin, Colin, oh you`re so good at sex! Beads of sweat dropped from Colin`s brow which he massaged into her breasts, he said Oh love I have to do it again, l`m doing it again. Colin lay Linda out flat on the kitchen table and mounted her, Linda entwined her legs with Colin`s as he forcefully kissed her. He did not prolong his passion this time he rammed his cock hard into Linda and came instantly as Linda screamed with pleasure I love you so much, you`re the best and sexiest wife in the world Linda! Linda replied, Thank you, my beautiful young husband!

The landline phone rang shrilly interrupting the comforting love Colin and Linda were experiencing. Linda quickly put on her shirt as Colin pulled up his underwear and sat down to watch television. Linda picked up the phone and knowing the number displayed immediately said Oh hi Susan! I haven’t heard from you in a while! Susan had spoken the same time as Linda Linda my dear, how are you? Linda replied, between answering the phone at the same time and Colin just talking about you seems all three of us are connected, I am fine Linda. Colin shouted out How`s the training going with The Protector Susan? With such a powerful guy it must be tough enough. Susan smiled when she heard Colin shouting to her, he always had a joke to crack even when they were in stressful conditions together. Susan said to Linda Tell Colin I am surviving, a lot to learn from him but it will continue for quite some time more. The Protector says that time is for humans, so he usually does not mention days, months or years Linda relayed the information to Colin. Colin shouted out jokingly How`s it going in your parent`s house? Are ye causing many objects to float with the paranormal skills you have? Susan said to Linda Tell him things move all the time and always did if it is not my mother it is me and now my boys too! Linda relayed the further information to Colin and again Colin giggled. Susan spoke to Linda with urgency Linda we may have to be involved in world affairs again.

Elizabeth`s book the Book of the Dead has been stolen from 10 Downing Street and you know the importance of that book for her, it increases her paranormal skills, so this is a matter of huge international importance. I don`t need to tell you that as leader of the United Free States one of her strengths is she can read minds and tell the future but that ancient book enhances her skills. George contacted me this morning and wanted to call you himself, but I just decided to, I haven’t been free to speak to you. What do you think? Linda replied, Susan there are implications that probably George knows being part of MI5, but a thief stole that book from 10 Downing Street so somebody knew that book was in her bedroom, and someone she liked and trusted. Susan replied, with her typical measured and calm voice The pope visited 10 Downing Street and when Elizabeth and I were having dinner in Downing Street she said to me that she had grown very fond of the pope who had been discussing paranormal subjects with her over the phone. She invited him to her room to see her ancient book, waiving all security protocols, which was very uncharacteristic of her. George thinks there was some type of mind control taking place. Linda replied Then it is a case of possibly the pope is connected but obviously did not steal the book. I wonder then is there a security risk for Elizabeth? Susan replied George said to me that he had advised Elizabeth to leave 10 Downing Street for her safety but she has refused because she sees it as a sign of weakness to flee her seat of power and I agree with her even though the thief who broke in has not been identified yet. Susan continued George wishes to meet us on Thursday for lunch in the usual place. You and Colin will be free won`t you? Linda knew there was no other option, she was fond of George, he had saved all their lives twice Susan, funnily enough I was saying to Col I would not mind a bit of action and he, regardless of being young man of a young age might like adventure, wanted to just stay in what is now his familiar home. Well, action it is then! Susan said See the two of you soon then. I must rush Linda. It`ll be nice to see you too again even if it is in serious circumstances but it always is! Linda laughed See you on Thursday. Colin shouted out See ye then Suzie! It was only Susan`s family used the shortened version of her name; Colin was like a little brother to her Tell Col I said goodbye. Talk soon Linda. Bye now."

Linda hung up the phone and stared pensively out the window. Colin walked over and put his muscular barrelled arms around her waist and waited for Linda to speak Damn it Col this is really serious this time and I can sense there really is evil in the air. Colin squeezed her waist and gently kissed her cheek Yes, true but we`re not alone Linda, we have the most powerful beings in the Universe and The Protector, ye couldn`t beat that huge, big strong muscle-bound being, he even beats my muscles. Try not to worry love. The couple held each other knowing that life was not just about to get complicated but extremely dangerous.
