The spectacular spread of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies globally has brought great upheavals and disruptions in labor markets. The 2020 Future of Jobs report by the World Economic Forum estimated that by 2025, 85 million jobs may be displaced by a shift in the division of labor between humans and machines, while 97 million new roles could emerge that address the new realities of division of labor between humans, machines, and algorithms. The erstwhile fears of major job losses have given way to a more balanced discourse on amplifying the promise of technologies for sustainable development and human well-being and minimizing the peril of unemployment. While the new generation of disruptive technologies each have their own unique strength, it is the collective potential of these technologies to improve productivity and the quality of goods and services that have the greatest promise of influencing societal value and impact. Fusing the boundaries between the physical, digital, and biological worlds, the 4IR technologies that include artificial intelligence, robotics, the Internet of Things, 3D printing, genetic engineering, quantum computing, and machine learning, are fast becoming indispensable to modern work life, and indeed to the daily
