An Orman's Allegiance - Dominique Gibson

    Foreword

Has it been a year already? It just feels like yesterday I was sitting down in my room back at my mom’s house writing the first book to the Truson S.E.T. Series back in 2009. I will never forget the horrible drafts I’ve created over the years when I wrote the first book, which is now called An Orman’s Revenge. To this day, I still can't believe it's been two years since I've self-published my first book, and I have enjoyed this ride from the very beginning until now. It's been a total of twelve years before I decided to self-publish my novel and I haven't regretted it since.

I can officially say that after both An Orman’s Allegiance and Courtney’s Redemption (The prequel to An Orman’s Revenge and A Phiman’s Betrayal) become published, we will no longer see the Ormans like the readers are used to. We will be moving on to the Phimans with brand new characters, brand new adventures, and brand-new storylines. I'm hoping all of you will love the other hybrids just as you did with the Ormans. Another thing I wanted to mention was my musical playlist that was heavily inspired by the Orman series.

There were days where I would listen to a song on YouTube or even on my CD player and thought, Wow, that would make a really great scene for one of my stories. Then write out the scene while the music was still going. There were other times when I would listen to music while typing up my latest draft on the computer. Music has inspired me to write all sorts of scenes for the longest time, and I'm happy to share my musical playlist with all of you.

One final note for all my readers: Please make sure to be on the lookout for Courtney's Redemption and A Phiman’s Betrayal, which will be out in 2022. I hope you enjoyed reading about the Ormans as much as I enjoyed writing about them. As a special treat, I have included a few sample pages of the fourth book of the Truson S.E.T. Series, A Phiman’s Betrayal.

Hope you enjoy it.  I will see you soon.

List of Terms for The Truson S.E.T. Series:

The Island of Truson: An island that’s isolated from the rest of the world created by Benjamin Truson and Courtney Madison for a safe hiding place for the Ormans and other species to live on after the U.S. government declared it was no longer safe to keep them scattered throughout the world.

Ormans: A race of half-humans, half-orcas that live on the island of Truson.

Alter Ego: After being injected with the Animan Three-Hundred, Ormans transform into an orca for twelve hours a day before turning back into their human form for another twelve hours. The only exception to this rule would be if the members are in danger and need to transform quickly to protect themselves against their enemy.

Truson Super Elite Team: A group of half-human, half-animal hybrids who are sworn to protect humans from criminals on both land and water.

Book of Truson: A manual that contains specific information about how the Truson S.E.T. was born, starting from ancient Egypt until the present day, in addition to the laws of Truson to keep the Truson S.E.T. powers from spinning out of control.

Binosil: A liquid medicine used to stop animal-human transformation whenever it’s too dangerous for a human to transform into their animal form.

The Truson Jetpack: A new waterproof device designed by the U.S. government to hold the members’ personal items (cell phone, clothes, etc.) whenever they transform. The Truson Jetpack is activated by a special watch the members are given. The jetpack can mold and shape into any size so members can wear it in whatever form they choose (either as a human or as a hybrid). It also provides a mix of gas and electric fuel for the members to get to their destinations faster than just depending on their alter ego to get from one place to another.

    CHAPTER ONE

Su-Lee Matamino breathed a sigh of relief after clicking off the Truson Super Elite Team's website. It had been another hard day for the team battling criminals, both human and hybrid, on the island of Truson, but she was grateful to be on an island where she was safe to turn into her orca form without being seen by humans. She also appreciated the fact she had powers to defend any victim she wanted without the risk of going to jail or dying by lethal injection as if she were a criminal. After the horrible death, she'd experienced years ago, being a part of the Truson S.E.T. was the best thing that ever happened to her.

A way better life than China, right?

Su-Lee gave a slight grin as she opened up another tab on her computer, typed in one of her favorite websites, and clicked on her avatar. Goosebumps formed on her skin as she saw the male avatar on the screen. For the last couple of days, her avatar had been talking to a male avatar who, in her opinion, was absolutely gorgeous. The exciting part about it was his willingness to let her do whatever she wanted. This caused her to lick her lips and fantasize about all the things she'd dreamed of since they first met online.

Though having the real thing was always fun, cybersex had many benefits in Su-Lee's world.

There were no commitments, no strings, no one getting too attached to each other. In the virtual world, it was just her and whatever stranger she wanted for the night.

The male avatar moved closer to her, and a small bubble appeared on the screen:

So what is it you want me to do to you, ComputerGeek21?

Su-Lee smiled. ComputerGeek21 was the name she had created for herself when she invented the avatar. She knew that using her real name could be dangerous, not only for herself, but for all of her team members she considered to be family. If the avatar ended up searching for her true identity, her entire world could be shattered.

Enough of the worries. He’s waiting on your response.

I would love for you to take your tongue, open up my thighs, and—

Su-Lee stopped typing when her cell rang on her work desk. She checked the number that flashed across her screen, and her heart pounded. She knew that number. Memories of her last visit in China flooded her brain. How could she not remember that phone number?

Su-Lee shook the thought out of her head. The phone stopped ringing. She exhaled and placed her fingers on the keyboard when the phone rang again. Su-Lee gulped. A part of her wanted to ignore the call, but she somehow knew the caller wouldn’t stop. With shaky fingers, she tapped the green button on her phone and put it to her ear.

Hello? Su-Lee answered, hoping it was the wrong number.

Hello, may I please speak to Su-Lee Matamino? the voice asked.

She felt her body tense at the sound of his voice. She knew exactly who it was. Her oldest brother, Jazu. A part of her wanted to hang up and go back to the comfortable world she was now used to. She didn’t want to remember her past life in China with any of her family. But she could tell something was wrong, it was all in Jazu’s voice.

This is she. I’m surprised you were able to reach me, Jazu. How did you find me?

I don’t have time to explain, Su-Lee. You need to come to China A.S.A.P. Our brother is in trouble, Jazu said.

What? Su-Lee pushed herself away from her computer. The last time she’d heard from her middle brother, Jung-Le, he was still living with their parents in China. What are you talking about?

Jung-Le is in serious trouble. I think the Chinese government said something about a secret society. Do you know what they are talking about? Jazu asked.

I don’t know what you mean, Jazu. There is no such thing as a secret society—

Look Su-Lee, I don’t know what’s going on. If you are part of a secret society, it’s no longer a secret. The Chinese government called me to send you a message: They know about the Truson team and are using our brother to extort the U.S. to reveal all of them.

There it was again. Su-Lee remembered how she felt when she saw Chen drowning in the pool. The entire incident brought memories of her own drowning back in Japan. As she saw Chen gasping for air just before her head went underwater, Su-Lee knew she had no other choice but to save her.

Su-Lee stood up and closed her eyes. This can’t be happening. She thought about her second family, the Truson Super Elite Team, being exposed to the Chinese government and how society would respond if they were ever found out. Su-Lee heard stories about Ormans being exposed only to get shot down and killed by a small group of human vigilantes to protect people from the possible danger of the Truson S.E.T. It was then that Ormans were getting slaughtered by humans in tropical places like Hawaii, Florida, and California. The U.S. government destroyed the small group of vigilantes and worked with Benjamin Truson to create the island of Truson.

The island ended up being the perfect place for Ormans and other hybrids to live freely without the danger of being exposed to the world.

    Now the danger had resurfaced...again.

You need to come to China and find him, Su-Lee. Our mom and dad are furious about Jung-Le’s disappearance and your connection. You need to come to China now! The tone in his voice said it all. The situation was severe for both of her families. She put her hand to her chest. She had to fix this.

I will, she replied and ended the call. She slowly put the phone down on the windowsill and stared outside. As the gray clouds scattered throughout the sky, thoughts of the Chinese government destroying the Truson S.E.T. made her shiver. She knew firsthand how strict the Chinese government was about obeying the law. A bell rang on her computer, disrupting her thoughts. She went back and saw the avatar’s expression on the screen and read the message below:

Are we gonna have sex or what?

Su-Lee’s fingers moved around the keyboard.

    Sorry, not tonight. Gotta go.

Before the guy responded, Su-Lee shut off the computer and opened her closet. She stared down at the brown leather suitcase and grabbed it. She quickly snatched clothes off the rack and piled them into the suitcase. Tears streamed down her face as she slammed the suitcase closed and flopped down on the bed. She usually knew what to do when it came to technology but dealing with her birth family was a different story.

Su-Lee jumped when she heard her cell phone buzzing again. Tonia’s name glowed on her phone.

Can’t let her know what’s going on. Have to do this on my own.

She swiped the green button. Hello?

    Hey, what’cha doing?

She thought about telling her friend what was going on, that her family was in trouble, that she needed to leave the island of Truson and go to China A.S.A.P. and didn’t want anyone to know where she was, not even her boss, Ford Mayfield. But she knew if she told Tonia what was happening, she would run to Ford with the news, causing Ford and the rest of the team to come to her rescue.

She couldn’t risk both of her families getting killed.

Uh Tonia, now is not a good time to talk. I was just about to head out, Su-Lee replied.

Really? Can I come with you?

I’m afraid not. Su-Lee paused. I have to take a trip. It’s an emergency. Silence. Tonia, are you still there?

Yeah, I’m here. I’m just going to do a three-way with Stin—

No, Tonia! Su-Lee separated the phone from her ear and grunted. This was not what she wanted. The last thing she needed was for Tonia or any of the team members to be in danger. Besides, she needed to investigate if what Jazu said was true. I don’t want a three-way with Stin. As a matter of fact, I want you to keep this conversation to yourself.

What do you mean? You said it was an emergency. Don’t you want our help? Tonia asked.

No, I don’t. Su-Lee took a deep breath. "I’m going to China alone. I have to deal with this on my own. Promise me you won’t tell Ford or any of the other members what I’m telling you."

So I can’t even tell my own husband what’s going on?

No, Su-Lee replied. Silence filled the air between them. Su-Lee’s heart pounded. She felt the tension rising in her veins. Promise me, Tonia.

Fine, I promise, she replied. Well, can I at least ask you to keep me posted on what’s going on?

I'll try, but I can't make any promises. Su-Lee went back to her bed and put her hand on the suitcase. I have to go. I have to leave the island right now.

    Okay.

Su-Lee swallowed the lump in her throat. She knew Tonia was hurt by what she said, but she needed to leave before any of them were in danger. The Chinese government didn’t play when it came to threats. Su-Lee had seen it happen too many times, especially when it came to her.

    Please be careful.

I will. I’ll talk to you soon. A huge lump rose in Su-Lee’s throat as she stared at the phone. Her screen turned from green to red, indicating Tonia had hung up.

Get it together. You will see them again.

Su-Lee told herself she needed to get going if she wanted to make it to China as quickly as possible. After closing her suitcase, she went back to her computer. She could have easily transformed into an Orman and swam for hours to get to China, but flying was way faster, and she needed to get to her destination quickly if she wanted to find Jung-Le. She booked a flight at the Bethel Airport in Alaska before grabbing her suitcase and heading out the door.

Gabriel Sanchez drummed his fingers on the desk as he stared at the computer screen. This was his first time ever trying cybersex, and unfortunately, it wasn't going well. He found it a little embarrassing he had to stoop so low to have some sexual fulfillment. He tried to follow Stin's advice about having one-night stands with different types of women until he found the right one, but Gabriel didn't feel comfortable sleeping with a woman, only to leave both of them wanting more later. He wasn't the type of man who slept around.

He wanted a real relationship, one with someone who was there for him whenever he was in trouble, one where he could share his secrets.

Hell, he needed to be with a woman who he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

Gabriel continued to stare at the last sentence on the computer screen. He read the previous sentence and thought about his approach.

Are we gonna have sex or what?

What the hell had gotten into him? He was starting to act like Stin. He had to admit he’d gotten an erection when the female avatar stated she wanted him to open her legs. He knew what she wanted to say next. Just the image of seeing his avatar bending down in-between her legs and giving her oral pleasure sent heat throughout his abdomen.

Out of all the women he’d dated, none had ever made an offer for him to perform oral sex on them. Sure, they were more than happy to give him pleasure, but when it came time to return the favor, the women were ready to have sex.

Those days felt like a lifetime ago.

Once he’d decided to take the oath to become an Orman, he hadn’t had much success when it came to dating. Ormans were part of a secret society called the Truson Super Elite Team, and he didn’t want to risk exposing himself or the rest of the team to someone outside of their circle. The Truson Super Elite team was his second family, and he wasn’t going to let anyone come between them—not even a woman.

    What about Su-Lee? She’s available.

Gabriel shook the thought out of
