Making your own candles can be a fun way to start your sustainability journey! You have complete control, from choosing which wax you use to the scents, containers, and colors. You can support your local beekeepers by outsourcing beeswax or ordering soy wax from reputable sources. No matter what you choose, remember to have fun with it. This is an excellent activity for the whole family to enjoy!

Wax
Wicks
Wick holder
Fragrance

Process-
Prep your containers
Measure the amount of wax appropriate for your container, and add about 1 oz extra per container to account for shrinkage
Measure your wick to the height of your container, and leave a little extra
Secure your wick in its holder, and then place the wick in the center of your container
Melt your wax. You can do this in a double boiler, in the microwave, or on a hot plate if you have one
Stir in your desired fragrance and pour it into your containers
After the wax sets up,
