    Praise For Author

    Foreword

The idea for this book came after being challenged by my tarot master and mentor, Dusty White, to consider sharing something I am knowledgeable about. After consideration, I realized my experience of starting different businesses as a solo entrepreneur over the last 20 years has a story all its own. Being a solo entrepreneur is not for the faint of heart. One must be prepared for major shifts in the economy, experimenting with theories of business, new technology, creative ways of marketing and knowing exactly the right time to pivot to save the life of your business.

When I started the journey as a professional tarot reader, information was (and still is) limited, so I applied knowledge gained from prior experiences to the tarot industry. This book gives an insight into that journey with the steps I followed and now share with you.

Take what aligns with you and leave the rest. I bid you much luck, joy and happiness on your journey into the world of being a professional tarot reader.

What to expect from this book

This is not a book listing definitions of tarot card meanings, spreads, or steps to take to be a better reader. If you have this book in your hands, you are already well past that stage.

Instead, you are interested in taking your talents to the next level and becoming a professional tarot card reader, or you are already a professional reader, looking for new and creative ways to advance your business. You can use this book in three ways: as a reference tool to get started, apply ideas to boost a current business, or as a springboard to create your own ideas.

We will go over the processes of registering your business to marketing yourself and everything in between you need to consider— all on a budget.

    CHAPTER ONE

Are you ready to be a professional tarot reader?

This is the most important question to ask yourself, and to answer honestly. If you have spent a few hours reading a book and think you’re ready—you are not ready. If you still need to refer to a book for card meanings as you do your readings, you’re not even close to ready. It is imperative to have knowledge of the card meanings as if they are second nature because your focus during the reading should be on providing a safe environment for your client.

This is not to deter you from the industry because we need loving, compassionate and knowledgeable readers. When the cards in your readings expose very sensitive issues. You need to be prepared mentally and emotionally to hold a safe, healing space for your client.

What does one mean when we use the term, Professional Tarot Reader? Depending on whom you ask, the term can have a variety of definitions. Some readers study under a tarot master and graduate from a program (which was my chosen route), and some people are self taught. Neither one is better than the other, BUT, the moment you charge for your services— which is true in any industry, the public deems you a professional. If
