Japeth Trimble
A former high-school and college star athlete, Japeth Trimble has been involved with teen-related issues for many years. As a sports marketing and TV advertising executive, Japeth created a number of community initiatives that focused on the many challenges facing today’s teens. His TV marketing campaign “For Our Teens” was implemented both in the Baltimore, Md; and Las Vegas, NV, TV markets. In addition to his marketing background, Japeth held executive positions with the National Security Agency, Amtrak, and FILA, USA.

Owen was an incredibly gifted and handsome 12-year-old young boy whose greatest desire was to play basketball on his middle school’s team. Owen was considered so specially gifted because when he was four years old, he was diagnosed with a form of autism called Asperger Syndrome. Due to his symptoms, Owen’s ability to interact and communicate with others was greatly affected. When Owen became flustered or unnerved, his body would start rocking uncontrollably. Owen was shy and had very few friends, he was closest to his brother Paul. Owen thought the world of his 6'5 older brother, who was the star player on his high school basketball team. Paul also adored his little brother and was extremely protective of him, especially because of Owen’s condition. As a 7th grader at Wilde Lake Middle School, Owen was a lanky, 5'8
uncoordinated boy, but that didn’t stop him from wanting to fulfill his dream of making his school’s team. Despite his passion for the game, his physical condition at times proved to hinder Owen’s body from completing simple physical movements. His brother spent many hours working with Owen, helping to teach him the fundamentals of basketball, but Owen’s condition at times created involuntary body movements which hampered his ability to control the way he played.
