Chapter 01
Goal setting and motivation
When we are immersed in learning a new language, we experience an intense thirst for knowledge and overflowing motivation. At this stage we long for everything to happen immediately and are eager to break down new linguistic frontiers. Undoubtedly, this initial enthusiasm is valuable and deserves recognition. However, a recurring challenge arises: the lack of clear goals and the absence of defined objectives.
In many cases, we have the desire to learn a language, but we lack an effective strategy to do so. We do not have a plan from the beginning, nor have we established what goals we want to achieve in a given time frame. Over time, this lack of focus manifests itself when the initial motivation begins to dissipate. Without clear goals, the mind becomes disoriented, and it becomes more difficult to maintain the initial momentum.
Therefore, if clear goals are not set from the outset, the path becomes challenging and wearing. Lack of direction can create an overwhelming burden and ultimately cause you to lose interest. Learning becomes a roller coaster of scattered activities, and the feeling of not moving forward can lead to abandonment of the original purpose.
