1.  Introduction

-  PTE, which stands for Pearson Test of English, is an English proficiency test designed specifically for study or visa purposes. It consists of four modules: Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening. In total, there are 20 different task types that assess various language skills. The test is fully computer-based and does not involve any human interaction.

-  The PTE exam has a duration of two hours and does not include any breaks. During this time, test-takers are evaluated based on their performance across the different modules and task types. The scoring system is integrated, meaning that the scores from each module are interconnected and contribute to the final result.

-  The total score for the PTE exam is calculated out of 90, with the lowest possible score being 10 (equivalent to 0 on the scale). The exam itself is worth 80 points, and the final score is determined based on the performance in the different tasks.

It's important to note that not all tasks in the PTE test carry equal weightage. There are three sets of priorities to consider.

-  Priority Task 1: Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, R&W: Fill in The Blanks, and Write From Dictation. These four tasks contribute to 51.94% of the overall score.

-  Priority Task 2: consists of the tasks: Describe Image, Retell Lecture, Summarize Written Text, and Summarize Spoken Text. These tasks contribute 24.72% to the overall score.

-  Priority Task 3: Write Essay, R: Fill in The Blanks, Fill in The Blanks, and Highlight Incorrect Words. These tasks contribute 16.11% to the overall score.

-  Others: The remaining eight tasks not included in the priority sets contribute to 7.22% of the overall score.

1.3.  Results

-  PTE Results are typically available online within two working days from the test date. This quick turnaround time allows test-takers to promptly access their scores and proceed with their study or visa plans.

-  Test-takers can conveniently access their PTE Academic results through their personal PTE Academic student account. This provides a secure and user-friendly platform for viewing and tracking their performance.

-  Within five working days after the test, test-takers will receive an email containing clear instructions on how to access their results online. This email serves as a helpful guide, ensuring that test-takers can easily navigate the result retrieval process.

-  The PTE Academic scores are valid for a period of two years. This duration allows individuals to utilize their scores for various purposes, such as applying to educational institutions or fulfilling immigration requirements. It provides flexibility and convenience for test-takers in planning their academic or migration journeys.

-  If necessary, test-takers have the option to re-appear for the PTE Academic test after a minimum gap of five days. This allows individuals to improve their scores or retake the test for any specific requirements they may have.
