What Lies Along The Banks Of The River - Steve Kittner
Dedicated to you the reader. I hope you enjoy the fruits of my overactive imagination.
A Word From The Author
––––––––
Thank you for grabbing your copy of What Lies Along the Banks of The River!
I truly hope you enjoy this quick read as much as I enjoyed putting it together for you. This novella serves as a prequel to my Amazon Best Selling What Lies
series by introducing you to my main characters, Josh Baker, and Eddie Debord. Book one in the series begins with Josh and Eddie at the ripe old age of 14 ½ years old. As you read each book in the series, they get progressively older, so their exploits get more expansive and more complex. You will fall in love with these guys and their close friends as the character base broadens and they venture further from home. (Spoiler Alert: By book 3, they are fortune hunting off Florida’s Treasure Coast with Giselle and some new partners. Big trouble down there.)
It will be fair to let you know right away that I write so that anyone can read my books. If you are looking for extreme graphic violence, intimate adult situations, and lots of swearing in a novel, I am not your author.
I seem to have two distinct demographical age groups as readers. We use my books in many schools in different states and the young crowd loves them and the stories seem to spark the adventurous spirit in these students. I have seen them create movie trailers, do plays, and build projects based on my stories, which is extremely flattering. I have Skyped with these classrooms, which is another thrill for me.
And then, on the other end of the spectrum, my older readers, the over 50 crowd, report back to me that these stories fondly take them back to their young years and the similar adventures they had growing up of searching and exploring the great outdoors. I have gained wonderful friendships with readers who want to thank me for rekindling these old feelings of youthful adventure. You can imagine how good that is for a writer. These same readers in my age group will often hand these books off to their children or grandchildren and encourage them to seek that adventurous fire within themselves.
With all that said, the first book in the What Lies
series is River Rocks, and then the What Lies
titles begin.
I am sometimes asked "Why doesn’t River Rocks have a What Lies
title if it’s the first book in the What Lies
series?"
The honest to goodness truth is simple. I had no idea I was going to be writing a series when I first penned River Rocks. I was just excited to write and publish one book. But... after I published that first one, I caught the writing bug, readers wanted more, and the What Lies
titles just kept coming, and I went with it.
River Rocks is a fun, adventurous, coming of age treasure hunt mystery. The characters will become a part of your life as you go from one book to the next in the series. Their love of the outdoors combined with their adventurous spirit will capture you, make you cheer them on, and keep you reading far longer than you planned on doing so. Harrowing at times, heartbreaking at others and always thrilling, you will enjoy following along and getting to know them as they tackle one adventure after another.
So, with that, I must get back to writing the next in the series and I am outlining the one after that at the same time. Josh. Eddie and their
