About this ebook

The first volume in a series that is focused on the multiyear project where a small group of dedicated men dismantled, moved and reassembled...twice...the last Consolidated B-36 ever built. These photos not only show how it was done, but provide limitless vignette and diorama ideas for the modelbuilder. If you have a passion for the B-36, this E-book series is a must for your B-36 library. Photos were taken mostly on black-and-white film and occasionally color transparencies with a variety of cameras and film types. Those factors, combined with the age of the negatives, weather conditions when the photos were taken and more, results in the quality of the images varying. You will find photos here that are...frankly...lousy, but they've been included for the one piece of information you may find valuable. That said, all images have been optimized to the extent possible with the historian and modelbuilder in mind.

    About The Author

    Introduction

A group of loyal and stubborn volunteers spent thirty-five years rescuing the last Consolidated B-36 Peacemaker ever built from the ravages of time and vandals. I was the group's official photographer for the first thirteen or so years of the rescue effort, so most of the photos in this...and subsequent...volumes are mine. Don Pyeatt, Frank Stephenson, Ed Calvert, Caesar 'Jack' Marmo and many others took numerous photos as well and some of their photos will also be found here. No one person could be everywhere all the time and without their photos this reference series would have been less complete. That also results in a number of nearly identical images being included, basically side by side. I make no apologies for this since certain detail can be clearer
