    Sagittarius - Marion Williamson

    Introduction

Welcome, Sagittarius! You have just taken a step towards what might become a lifelong passion. When astrology gets under your skin, there’s no going back. Astrology helps you understand yourself and the people around you, and its dazzling insights become more fascinating the deeper you go.

Just as the first humans turned to the life-giving Sun for sustenance and guidance, your astrological journey begins with your Sun sign of Sagittarius. First, we delve deeply into the heart of what makes you tick, then we’ll continue to unlock your cosmic potential by exploring love, your career and health, where you like being in the world, and how you get along with family and friends.

Then it’s over to gifted astrologer, Pam Carruthers, for her phenomenal birthdate analysis, where she reveals personality insights for every single specific Sagittarius birthday.

In the last part of the book we get right inside how astrology works by revealing the different layers that will help you understand your own birth chart and offer the planetary tools to get you started.

Are you ready, Sagittarius? Your quest for knowledge begins here!

    CUSP DATES FOR SAGITTARIUS

    23 November – 21 December

The exact time of the Sun’s entry into each zodiac sign varies every year, so it’s impossible to list them all. If you were born a day either side of the dates above, you’re a ‘cusp’ baby. This means you may feel like you’re a blend of Sagittarius/Scorpio or Sagittarius/Capricorn, or you may instinctively just know that you’re one sign right to your core.

    Going deeper

If you want to know once and for all whether you’re a Scorpio, Sagittarius or Capricorn, you can look up your birthdate in a planetary ephemeris, of which there are plenty online. (See page 102 for more information). This shows the exact moment the Sun moved into a new zodiac sign for the month you were born.

    The Sagittarius personality

You are a frank, enthusiastic and carefree Fire sign, and your astrological symbol is the Archer or Centaur – a mythological creature, half man, half horse. You have an impulsive and paradoxical personality, and your character represents the balancing act between the animal side of human nature and the human search for meaning.

Legend has it that you would shoot your arrow, gallop to where it landed, then shoot again – eventually covering the entire globe – delighting in every new experience to which your arrow led you.

You adore travelling and are always ready to explore new territory and meet people from different backgrounds and cultures. You live for fun and adventure and tackle any of life’s challenges with a smile on your face, and a hearty belly laugh. With fortunate, gregarious Jupiter as your ruling planet, you’re a popular, cheerful soul who plunges fearlessly, and sometimes a little recklessly, into the deep end of whatever life throws at you.

SHOULD YOU STAY OR SHOULD YOU GO?

Above all, you desire the freedom to explore and experience life as fully as possible, and you’re at your happiest at the beginning of a new journey, project or romance. Your initial enthusiasm and absolute belief in what you are doing propels you forwards with tremendous force. You have a rough and ready energy, more bluff and blunder than a thoughtful, refined approach – some may even call you clumsy! But the sheer optimism and friendly openness you apply to everything you tackle can be very refreshing.

You’re quite frightened of being tied to a routine or of creating responsibilities for yourself, as you’ll soon get bored and want to see what’s around the corner. You sometimes get so fidgety that you’ll move on without much forethought or planning. But too much change means you skate on life’s surface without becoming any the wiser, which is not your aim as a person who wants to understand life’s meaning on a philosophical level. One of your greatest lessons is learning when to stay rooted to absorb more experience, and when to shoot your arrow and gallop towards the
