    Taurus - Marion Williamson

    Introduction

Welcome, Taurus! You have just taken a step towards what might become a lifelong passion. When astrology gets under your skin, there’s no going back. Astrology helps you understand yourself and the people around you, and its dazzling insights become more fascinating the deeper you go.

Just as the first humans turned to the life-giving Sun for sustenance and guidance, your astrological journey begins with your Sun sign of Taurus. First, we delve deeply into the heart of what makes you tick, then we’ll continue to unlock your cosmic potential by exploring love, your career and health, where you might prefer to live, and how you get along with family and friends.

Then it’s over to gifted astrologer, Pam Carruthers, for her phenomenal birthdate analysis, where she gives deeper personality insights for every single specific Taurus birthday.

In the last part of the book we get right inside how astrology works by revealing the different layers that will help you understand your own birth chart and offer the planetary tools to get you started.

Are you ready Taurus? Let’s take a leisurely stroll through your personality, stopping occasionally for drinks and a picnic …

    CUSP DATES FOR TAURUS

    21 April – 21 May

The exact time of the Sun’s entry into each zodiac sign varies every year, so it’s impossible to list them all. If you were born a day either side of the dates above, you’re a ‘cusp’ baby. This means you may feel like you’re a blend of Taurus/Aries or Taurus/Gemini, or you may instinctively just know that you’re one sign right to your core.

    Going deeper

If you want to know once and for all whether you’re an Aries, Taurus or Gemini, you can look up your birthdate in a planetary ephemeris, of which there are plenty online. (See page 102 for more information.) This shows the exact moment the Sun moved into a new zodiac sign for the month you were born.

    The Taurus personality

You are a strong, silent, patient, rock of a person – the metaphorical foundations on which the rest of the zodiac signs are built. As the second sign, you take what Aries initiated, and you create something tangible, beautiful and enduring.

You are solid, trustworthy and unchanging, which can sound a little too sensible, but without your strength and dependability, everything else collapses. The salt of the earth, you work towards your goals slowly with determination.

Patience is your superpower. When you know something, somewhere, or someone is right for you, you’ll accept that it may take a long time to get there. But you know with some certainty that you will. You’re not in a rush; you’re suspicious of anything that’s quickly won, believing the best things in life should be earned.

It’s this intractable stubbornness that’s so frustrating for the bubblier, quicker-moving zodiac signs hoping you might be a little more flexible.

When your mind is made up, you will not undo it, and if you suspect others of attempting to inveigle you, or they get pushy, you’ll simply and calmly stop where you are and will not be moved.

You take such a long time to make careful decisions that, unless your chart has a hefty amount of Water, Fire or Air elements, you are extremely reluctant to back down. You quietly weigh up the pros and cons, often without discussing any problems with loved ones or hinting that you’re mulling over a problem. The care and mental effort that goes into your decisions usually means your conclusions are fair and sensible. But, once in a while, your opinion may be questionable. This puts you in the awkward position of having to defend your position even when you know, at the back of your mind, it might not hold water.

    VENUSIAN COWS AND RAGING BULLS

Taurus is ruled by delightful Venus, bestowing you with ample good looks and an easy charm. Even skinny Taurus have a solidness to their physiques, and they usually have well-defined eyes and curly hair. Exuding an inner confidence that can be quite irresistible, you long for a partner and will wait patiently for the perfect
