Wine & Spirits - Stephen Fraser
INTRODUCTION
Many nations around the world are currently experiencing a crisis of epidemic proportions. I’m not referring to the spread of a physical virus, but rather something far worse. It is the spread of a vice that goes beyond merely the physical. This vice is affecting the souls, minds, and bodies of those caught in its grip. Even more than that, it spreads chaos and oppression into the lives of those closest to the ones being held by it.
No doubt, ignorance of the origin and history of this plague has fueled its spread. There is uncertainty and confusion among even the most devout, religious people in our communities. Some see it as a good thing, while others view it as wicked. And having become a part of many cultures throughout the world, it has fueled much debate and dissension for many millennia.
The only antidote for such a long-standing dilemma facing the world is the Word of God. It is within the scriptures we find medication that cures and restores the soul, mind, and body of the afflicted. This book provides many doses of truth from the Word of God that will not only deliver and heal the afflicted, but will serve as a preventative to keep others from contracting this plague as well. As powerful as the contents of this book are, there have been no known negative side–effects attributed to it when taken sincerely and in its entirety.
It is in knowing the truth that people are made completely free. But when it comes to the subject of wine and spirits or drinking alcoholic beverages, even Bible-believing Christians don’t seem to fully understand and know the truth. Those who are adamantly against drinking usually don’t have a strong scriptural explanation to support their deeply held convictions. Others who do not view it as sin, usually quote either the story of Jesus turning water into wine, or the time Paul advised Timothy, No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your frequent infirmities
(1 Tim. 5:23).
However, the Bible has much more to say about these things. Like all scripture, their purpose is to spread liberty throughout the world, which includes your personal life! So, as the Apostle John said, I also say, These things we write to you that your joy may be full
(1 John 1:4). My heart for you is that the truths in this book would jump off the pages and into your heart, giving you a greater understanding of this highly debated subject while grounding you in a deep conviction
