It's All About The Light

About this ebook
Nik had thought everything was going to be brilliant. Mum was going to get a new husband and he'd have a brother. They'd be like one of the families you see on TV. Of course those things would still happen but, because Shane didn't look at things the right way, because they weren't the same, none of it was going to be good like he'd hoped.
That was until the boys went away on a photography weekend and Nik realised it was he, and others who hadn't been looking at things the right way and all you had to do was get the light right to see they were the same in all the ways which really mattered.
A short story of 3,150 words about family, by Patsy Collins
Patsy Collins
Patsy Collins spends her time making things up and writing them down from her home in Lee-on-the-Solent or whilst traveling in a campervan – both shared with her husband. When away she enjoys scrambling round ruined castles, visiting friends and eating cake. At home she gardens, bakes (and then eats) cakes. She is the author of six novels and twenty-four themed collections of short stories. Hundreds of her short stories have been published in women's magazines.

About the Author
Nik listened to the instructor's words and tried to concentrate on them and not the fact that everything was about to go wrong. He'd really been looking forward to this photography weekend and had bored his schoolmates telling how great it would be. Two whole days on a wildlife reserve, not just catching a glimpse of amazing animals, but being able to really watch them. Learning to take photos of them would be brilliant too, especially now he had a camera. He wouldn't let Shane spoil
