Introduction

The Beginning of a Journey

Ingo Schaer is an entrepreneur and real estate investor who achieved financial freedom through hard work and dedication. Despite growing up in East Germany where financial education and mindset building were not a priority, Ingo never let that stop him from dreaming big and working towards financial freedom. In 2006, he moved to the United States and founded a successful lighting company in Clearwater, Florida. In 2017, Ingo discovered the world of real estate and it changed his life forever.

He and his wife Anja began buying and selling properties, flipping properties, and eventually got into the Short Term Rental business, creating a great stream of income for them. Ingo and Anja set a goal to add two to three income producing assets to their portfolio every year and quickly built a portfolio of properties that they were renting out on a short-term basis. Through hard work and dedication, Ingo was able to achieve the American Dream and attain financial freedom. His story serves as a reminder that anything is possible with the right mindset and a willingness to take risks. Ingo continues to strive for more financial success and freedom.

The author wrote this book to show that financial freedom is achievable for anyone, regardless of their background or circumstances. He wants to demonstrate that with the right mindset, the willingness of taking risks and using the right tools, anyone can achieve financial freedom.

My Journey to Financial Freedom

Like many people, I didn’t receive much financial education growing up. My parents were hard working and responsible with their finances, but they didn’t teach me much about budgeting, saving, investing, or building passive income streams. As a result, I was largely clueless about personal finance when I started my journey towards financial independence.

So, how did I gain my financial education? It wasn’t a straight path, but rather a combination of different experiences and resources that helped me learn and grow.

Here are some key steps that I took:

Read Books: I started reading books on personal finance and entrepreneurship, which gave me a foundation of knowledge and sparked my curiosity to learn more. Some of the books that had a big impact on me were Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki and The Millionaire Fastlane by M.J. DeMarco.

Seek Out Mentors: I was lucky to have some great mentors who were willing to share their knowledge and experience with me. These mentors were invaluable in helping me understand the ins and outs of personal finance and how to achieve financial independence.

Take Courses: I also took some online courses and attended financial workshops to further my education. These courses gave me a more structured and in-depth understanding of various financial concepts and strategies.

Experiment and Learn from Mistakes: As I started my business and pursued different investments, I made some mistakes along the way. But I learned from those mistakes and used them as opportunities to grow and improve.

By taking these steps, I was able to gain a solid foundation in personal finance and achieve financial independence. I hope that my journey to financial education can inspire and guide you on your own path towards financial freedom.
